Hello, India. I've been watching assorted "reaction" videos for about a year or so and you're my favorite reactor. I was just wondering if you do requests? Like do any of your viewers/subscribers ever suggest songs for you to view & react to, and do you ever make any reaction videos of their suggestions?

I was a stagehand (go IATSE!), too, so while I do get choked up about it, as well, I have to admit, that many of us stagehands/roadies really do mind staying for some of those extra encores. Sheesh an 18 truck load out makes some of us want to get started when we show up for the call (or if we've done the "in" and the show already}. We would like to get out of there, especially if I have an early load in the next day.

      Dear ron olson,
I was a teenager in the 60s. I remember a discussion a group of us had back in the late 80s.
We reached a consensus that the 60s lasted from around 1958 until about 1975. The amount of incredible music, whether it came from Liverpool, London, Dublin, Holland, New York, Philadelphia, Detroit , Chicago, Memphis, Muscle Shoals, L.A. or Canada kept us glued to the radio, studying album liner notes, participating in fan clubs and following our favorite bands around the country.
By the late 80s we had basically stopped listening to radio because there was nothing that interested us anymore. The “oldies” stations played a very restricted playlist of perhaps 500 songs and that got to be frustrating because we knew that there was so much more available out there.
I was three weeks short of my 15th birthday when I witnessed the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show in February of 1964. We were all blown away.

I hear you. The greatest music and musicians in history! I went to so many concerts in my teens and twenties. I went to a Monsters Of Rock in Germany in 87 where Deep Purple was the headline band. Helloween, Cinderella, Ratt, Dio, Metallica and Deep Purple just killed it. I regret I never saw Jackson Browne though. One of very few artists I didn't see that I would have loved to see live Joe Walsh, Eagles, ZZ Top, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, just DAMN that was so fantastic. Too many bands that were just killer awesome live. Oh, BTO killed it on their We're An American Band tour.

Jackson Browne has always been one of my all time favorite singer songwriters. My parents took me to see him live for the 1st time when I was 11 years old. My parents took me to see him last summer for my 16th birthday at the bethel woods amphitheater. The opening act cancelled right before the show, so he surprised everyone and opened for himself that night and played “you love the thunder” in the opening set. Then he played his regular set for about 2 hours. He came back onstage for an encore and closed the show with The Load Out and Stay. I’ll never forget it.

You like the steel guitar. For 50+ years that has always been my favorite sounding instrument. I wish they used it more on rock today. If I had to guess I say it' I'd say it's used more in country music. Jackson wrote "The Pretender" in 1977 while living on CS&N's boat, where he went to get away after his wife committed suicide in 1976. Really tragic.

Two years ago I met my son for a BBQ with his friend. He didn’t tell me that his friend’s adopted dad was Jackson Browne. I made a complete fool of myself, I had no idea that I would be sitting with him. Very nice man. I just saw him live a few months ago and his voice is better than it’s ever been. He has a couple of backup singers that he found in a gospel church choir in LA. They were like 15 and 16. They’ve been with him for awhile now, he lets them add verses to his songs. He is on tour all of the time usually raising money for environmental non profits. His new music is very relevant, mostly about immigrants, very political but it will make you cry. Amazing voice and lyrics.

You are correct. “Stay” is an old R&B song that Jackson Browne repurposed with changed lyrics to serve as a coda to his own song, “The Load-Out.” The artist who played the lap steel guitar and sang that second high-pitched solo was David Lindley, a very talented musician who sadly passed away just last year.

That song always bring a tear to my eye because I live that life as a roadie / stage manager as a friendships you develop with your road crew and some entertainers last 4 years and keep you in work is hard sometimes it's fun sometimes but I wouldn't trade the life of a roadie when nothing

Yup Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs to be exact... India this is my first time here and I must say I love your “reaction”to this song. This guy writes some greats. You have to feel this one especially though given the fact that it’s not just an accolade to the fan and roadie but a telling look in to the loneliness of the road.I’m looking forward to seeing ALL of your posts he here on your channel. You’ve got me hook, line and sinker as they say...Oh and by the way happy belated EASTER!!!!

You are appreciating the music of my life and deep in my memories. At this time, March of 2020, it brings memories and joys that have been lost over trials and tribulations of life. You have given me some thoughts and appreciations that I should remember the music.

I'm guessing that someone else has already commented on this, but the song Stay was written by Maurice Williams around 1960 and performed by his group Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs. There are so many great Jackson Browne songs. Running on Empty is probably one that you have gotten recommended. Another one that I would add is Lives in the Balance.

I’ve always liked that he doesn’t whine about being on the road and shows respect for the roadies and fans. I do not like songs where pampered millionaires whine about doing their job. Thank you Jackson Browne.
