WOW I LOVE SOUND CHECKS! You never hear it ever again & sometimes they do some awesome little bit of something while they are playing around like this. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS!
This is something I never thought I would see, Robert Plant playing guitar. He sounds like he knows what he's doing. My all-time favorite singer can play. Wow!
Damn! I knew he played guitar , but I didn’t know he PLAYED guitar!! Sounds very accomplished, much more than I expected - especially lead playing ! Sounds like they’re all having fun Would’ve loved to have been there
I think it was in Rolling Stone or maybe Spin, but there was an interview with RP in the late 80's where he was asked about the LZ Live Aid reunion(or maybe it was the Atlantic Records reunion?) where he said he got together with Page to rehearse a month or so beforehand and he(RP) was actually playing BASS- I think JPJ couldn't make that particular rehearsal or some such thing, so Plant filled in. I'm sure there is a more hardcore LZ/Plant fan out there that can correct me on the details of this story.....still, yes, crazy to see Percy shredding lol. Good stuff. Plant is one of my favorite artists- he never stays in the same place for long, always turning a corner, artistically speaking and he's constantly developing in quantum leaps, and has been for over 50 years in music.
@@joesutherland2017 oh wow, seeing Robert play the bass would be REALLY shocking! He seems like the sort to try anything though so I shouldn't be that surprised. I agree with your comments about Robert, he is quite the artist, always exploring and growing.🎶

I recall the night where Alannah unexpectedly got up on stage with Pat Benatar at Lulu's Roadhouse. Don't get me wrong, I semi-liked Alannah's material back in the day after MuchMusic forced it down our throats in their power rotation - but she was WAY out of her element alongside Benatar that night. Cute that she brought a little tambourine here to Plant's rehearsal.
He was chasing her at the time. He was flirting and prancing around with no shirt to seduce her too lol....it's no secret he had it bad for her. He had this way of flirting....without OPENLY flirting...ladies here know what I mean....right? lol! She was so gorgeous as well....I think they dated for a while around this time or shortly after.

I would like to see Robert get even better & keep getting better, to a point he outshines Jimmy. I would LOVE to see Robert go down as one of the Greatest guitrists of all time. Hes not old, in the rock world atleast, hes still got many years, I just dont want to accept hes already hit his peak, I wish only the best for him.
God, I wore similar pants that Robert was wearing. Their in a animal sanctuary now. mine were Zebra print. lol I'm still trying to figure out who's holding the camcorder for the entire soundcheck.
Here hes playing a Gibson Seeing him also play a strat and acoustic. Not bad. He kept that bass plauer around because he was married to Plants daughter. Other wise John Paul might have got the mid 90s gigs. Tjat would jave been a Zep reunion of sorts.
HOLY CRAP! i just looked it up and shes in her 60s now. wow she is way older than i thought she was. i graduated high school in 90, and i had always though she was maybe 25 at the time at most. like just a few years older than me. but she was actually only like 4 years younger than my mother. WOW i had no idea.
Don’t know why RP didn’t play guitar with ZEP. They would have sounded awesome and taken pressure off JP. But that probably would not have looked cool. I say who cares!!
It's called soundcheck, and this one is a pretty loose format--a lot of seasoned musicians tend to keep soundcheck casual. Plant's a guitar dabbler having some fun, so his technique flat sucks, but his backing band during this time was pretty tight during the shows. So, it may be bucket of slop, but it's a good snippet of the behind-the-scenes a Plant/Myles fan will enjoy. Great footage. Both artists were amazing on that tour.
It so sad to see how egotistical Robert Plant is on stage. Even in rehearsals with no one audience he refused to barely look at Alannah Myles. She wanted to bond with him. But, he gave her the cold shoulder. He just looked straight ahead. Sad.
