I watched other "how to convert supermoto" vids. This video finally informed me what to really consider when converting. Not some montage conversion videos. Thank you man. Really helpful
yo... this vid was a life saver. I ordered some wheels a few weeks ago and just got them.. I was trying to mount the front with the stock bracket and the new one.. I didn't know you had to take it off. I was trying all sorts of different angles and getting pissed that it didn't fit. then I found this vid, took off the stock piece and it went on with no problem..
what size tires did you have and what size tires did you go with ? im trying to figure out what will work on my bike. i have front 80/100-21 rear 110/90-18
I am running 13/42 on my 2006 crf 450x and it runs great. I get plenty of top end on the highway, but I also still have plenty of torque for take off (especially for wheelies in 2nd gear).
Even if it was from the chain, it's normal and won't damage anything but the edge of the tire. It will get it to a certain point and then stop before any real damage is done.
What size rear tire you running? 160? When I had my 2005 CRF450X, I was running a ContAttack SM tires rear 150. It was so sticky and nimble...man....I miss it. So, now I am seriously considering another supermoto and it's a toss up between another CRF450X (year?) or KTM 530/500 EXC. Obviously, the KTM would be the better choice due to street legal from the factory and that darn 6th gear. All you would need to do with the KTM is swap wheels and sprockets/chain. BTW, when I had my 2005 CRF450X SM, I went with the exact same Warp 9 wheels/color combo. LOL However, I went all out and ditched the Warp 9 front brake conversion. I decided to add a Brembo radial monoblock. Dang that thing would stop so quick. However, I never got around to stiffening up the front forks so I had crazy amounts of front end dive whenever I tried to get hard on the braking. A good thing though, is it would change the geometry and made it stupid easy to back it in...several times, I wasn't even trying. LOL Great video. Your work here will go a long way to help many other folks. Another great guy to keep in mind with anything CRF450X SM related is four81. He is a great guy out of TX and got me on my way to jumping on the SM wagon and converting my 450X.
Lorena Cochrane It won't. Most people get like a Trailtech unit with the magnetic pickup in the front rotor. I'm wanting to convert a WR450F to motard trim but finding a wheelset that retains the OEM speedo drive difficult. I'd rather just have the OEM speedo than have that one not working and a second unit cluttering up the bars.
im in that position now, no instructions or anyuthing on my spacer and this is the first video i found on it xD i didnt know i had to remove that thing from the factory caliper.. and i still dont know how xD
One of these just turned up in my workshop ... I'm amazed how many of you went along with this shit kit that allows the rear tyre to touch the chain... wtf .. Is that a 150 rear tyre on a 5 inch rim ????
It will only shave down far enough until there is clearance. It won't harm the tire enough to where you need to replace it because of the contact with the chain.

@fenian p0wer Yes, I have a 13T and a 44T on my WR Supermoto.

i,m just trying to find out wheel sizes/spec but bailed out to much bullshit
does this exact same hing require for a husquvarna 449
That rear tyre has got the shit ripped out of it from the chain!
It's not all from the chain. I clearanced the tire with a grinding wheel a little. Lol. It did help.
Needs a chain guide up top......bad

They are the same Xr tires?
You recommend these wheels ?
Tylerwhat size are your rims
what size rims and tires ?

what wheel and tire sizes are you running? like the wide tire but dont want rubbing issues
i think is 17
rim
how does the speedo work now you removed the speedo drive

Relace the original hub, you get to keep the speedo then but it will be inaccurate.
Hi, hum I just want to know what is the year of your crfX. I am looking for the same bike.
2009 he says it in the beginning 😁
Salut ! 160/70/17 no good, 150/70/17 is verry nice ! No problem !!! 😉 💨 💨 💨
How about the front tires&rims size sir ?
im in that position now, no instructions or anyuthing on my spacer and this is the first video i found on it xD i didnt know i had to remove that thing from the factory caliper.. and i still dont know how xD
2020 KLX300R... I sure hope I can convert it to a Supermoto lol.
Congrats. Good luck. Hope it works out great.
I just converted mine! I’m sure you’ve done yours since 2 years ago. Just posted a vid on my channel

Nice bike
Holy shit that tire is fucked from your chain
It will only shave down far enough until there is clearance. It won't harm the tire enough to where you need to replace it because of the contact with the chain.
How can I solve the chain friction with the rim? how did you solve it?
