So many bands go to legal war over covers, so it's nice to see the two Stevie's having fun with this song. I love the Stevie Wonder cameo at the end. "Here, kitty kitty, come to Stevie!" 😂😂😂
He reminds me of my brothers. Good hearted guys with serious interests. And yet with a goofy laugh and grin at unexpected moments reduce you to helpless giggles. Love to all Stevia Ray fans out there b safe and happy.
@@derekbenkovich5687 Jeff wrote the drum intro and Stevie W came up with riff and was going to give Jeff the song but Berry Goerdy said forget that stuff
Folks keep commenting on stevie’s drug use. He had been clean and sober for four years at the time of his death. He was putting as much effort into his sobriety as he had with his former approach to life. His drug use stemmed from his turbulent childhood not his career. It took his success to teach him that he could live in a more positive manner. I personally was very happy for Stevie getting sober and he was a better musician due to that change. I was also deeply saddened by his unfortunate accident and death. You all should pray for Jimmie as well, he has to live with this and that is a heavy load to bare. I lost my younger brother and I know exactly what Jimmie deals with daily. Absolutely heart wrenching.
Yes it is wrenching 😢 to deal with death. I am sorry for your loss. I draw comfort from knowing Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and I will meet Him face to face and see my loved ones again. I hope SRV is there also.
I usually hate covers, but SRV did an amazing job with this. He made the song his own, and listening to it after listening to SW's original doesn't make the former pale in comparison to the latter.
Love Stevie Ray!! 🥰 What a Guitarist with huge hands and fingers to grab-strum-bend those heavy gauge strings. Gone but not forgotten!! R.I.P. Stevie Ray🕊️🕊️🕊️
Stevie Ray used to be a customer of the bank I worked at in Austin, back in college in the Eighties. Great guy! Always smiled, shook hands & signed autographs. R.I.P. - S.R.V.!
The guy at the end is Stevie Wonder. He wrote the original version and is a hell of an artist in his own right. He's very funky! SRV rocked this song hard!
I'm a big SRV fan, and although I've heard him do this song, I've never seen the video till today. In true SRV video form, it's hilarious.....bad kitty....and Stevie Wonder at the end?! Epic!
I worked as a beertender at the Austin Opera House for several years. I was there for two days of sound checks for the live album. They worked on Superstition for way too long on both days, never once got through it. My beertender partner and I were blown away when they pulled it out on night two and nailed it.
I feel very fortunate to have been able to see Stevie and Double Trouble perform live in concert before his passing, once in Troy NY at the RPI field house and then a couple years later at Saratoga Performing Arts Center and both times he absolutely melted my face off! Absolutely Incredible, I’ll never forget it!
This song is about fear/anxiety(blues). SRV suffered from it for years. When you make all your decisions based on something made up in your mind you suffer, and others around you. The ending part is a message from an experienced person on how to deal with the fear. SRV got better after he surrendered to it and got help. thats when he made this version. For people that feel the same way. This is how I listen/relate to music but I dont see anyone else commenting about it. Am I the idiot? Geniuenly asking.
Its called 'paranoid psychosis'. You make your own reality and if you like SRV, then listen to Bill Hicks who said quite accurately that "You are the imagineation of yourself viewed subjectively" Its good to understand reincarnation to really get this. Anyway, the song was written by Steve Wonder with input from Jeff Beck and Jeff basically listed all the things Enginsh people have superstitions about. In England we call then 'Old wives tales'! So, as they say, 'a thousand mile march starts with one step' and it is the hardest but once you realise most all your inibitions in life are in your head, things get much easier and (last quote) as the Samurai say "The only enemy is in your head, kill the enemy within and walk free!" Best of luck, hope this helps.
However we relate to music is a wonderfully personal journey. I can meditate on any number of genres, and I think I can see your point of view. Letting go of fear and learning to just let go of negative thoughts was enlightening for me.
Stevie masters that guitar like a ninja masters his sword !!! ane Stevie was just as deadly with that fender!!! tearing all those guitar riffs to SHREADS !!!! NOBODY has been SO TUNED in to his guitar like SRV was !!!! even CLAPTON said that !!! Just AMAZING !!! as someone said,,, there will be MILLIONS of frustrated young guitarist trying to learn to play like SRV !!! Miss him EVERY DAY !!!
I wasn't even a year old when he died, but I've always been so damn bummed that I never got a chance to see Stevie play live. I'm a blues player myself and I'd damn near sell my soul at the crossroads to see him play.
When this came out it was on the national music show a lot and I managed to copy it onto VHS. Always wondered who was behind this awesome video and the great live sound. Thank you so much!
I saw SRV live in Pier 4 , NYC. Before him and after him I have seen them all, jazz players, rock players, including all the big names. No one was on that level he was playing that particular night! LOVE U SRV!
Stevie Ray Vaughan is a definite must for people who like rock or blues or a mix of both! My dad introduced me to SRV when I was in elementary school and I've loved his music ever since! R.I.P. Stevie! You were one of the greatest guitarists to have ever lived!
SRV has inspired me to keep at guitar and really got me into blues rock, without him I would have probably given up. He is a legend and will always be remembered.
Beside the Bassist, Pianist and Drummer all getting cooked, I love how one of the audio techs has the keyboard cover fall on his hand and another takes a mike stand to the groin. Quality music video right there. Also, come to Stevie.

Whether your like Wonder or Ray Vaughn, we can all agree: Stevie is a name destined for greatness.

Stevie & Stevie: invincible

@@erikarneberg11 Theres a video of them playing superstition togheter, i think you would like it, super funky
Didn't think it was possible for someone to do a version of Superstition that's as cool as Stevie Wonder's but Stevie Ray Vaughan proved me wrong.

No matter how long he's been gone he's still amazing
