    What a win by Continuous! I couldnt believe he was 3/1 second favourite after the four length win in his previous start.Its great to see another Japanese sired son win a English classic this year. Congratulations to Aidan and Connections and his oldman Hearts Cry. Also his maternal grandfather Tony Bin who was a great horse in his own right as his record as a older horse speaks for it self being equal to Mtoto rated 134 by Timeform in 1988. Having Kiwi blood in his veins by way of the great Kiwi horse Trenton was great to know also.

      Agree whole heartedly. The signs were there that a performance of this caliber or at least something close could happen at Doncaster when he won at York going away in the Great Voltigeur Stakes over 12F, but he was really just finding his best stride when the finish line came. He looked like a horse that wanted further that day on the Knavesmire to me, and boy did he improve even more from his performance at York for the step up in trip to 14-1/2F for this race at Doncaster!

      I don't keep track, but it seems as though AOB is having one of his best seasons among many, and it's scary for the opposition since he might very well have the best crop of 2yos ever (by any trainer). That doesn't always translate into success as 3yos, but most of them appear to have the sort of pedigrees to improve stretching out in trip.

      It's not that often you see a Leger winner that could be a real Arc contender, but I don't know how this horse couldn't be considered just that. When Ryan Moore swung him off the rail and blew through that gap in the one-path off the rail he just exploded and looked for a minute more like a 6F sprinter than a 14-1/2F stayer. If he gets ground similar to this at Longchamp it'll take a proper middle distance horse with a better turn of foot able to see out 12F on soft ground or ground with considerable ease to beat him in my opinion.

      I once backed another O'Brien Leger winner, Milan, after a similarly impressive performance at Doncaster. As it happened he couldn't lay up with the pace and, despite finishing like a train, had to much to do. I don't think Continuous will have that problem as I think he'll have more tactical speed. This win only reinforces my opinion on Ace Impact chances in this years Arc after he comfortably beat Continuous in France earlier this year.

    • @GBeret83
      @GBeret83 10 месяцев назад +2

      Two things to consider, #1-All of Ace Impact's wins save his 2nd career start in a conditions race at Bordeaux le Bouscat which he won on heavy ground over 9-1/2F with nothing of his caliber running against him, have all been on good ground. His stakes wins at listed & G1 level at Chantilly and G2 level at Deauville have all came on good ground. And #2- Ace Impact has yet to race further than 10-1/2F to date. It's one thing to perhaps step up to 12F on good or good to firm ground from 10F or 10-1/2F, but doing it on what is more likely than not to be soft ground or ground with a considerable amount of ease as Longchamp always seems to become in October is a much tougher row to hoe, especially against the caliber of horses that will be lining up against him in the Arc. That, coupled with the fact he beat Continuos in the Prix Du Jockey Club in what appears now to be a trip very much on the sharp side for Continuous (10-1/2F, 2100M). Continuous improvement started when he stepped up to 12F, finishing 2nd behind King Of Steel in the G2 King Edward VII Stakes and he's since looked much the best over 12F at York in the G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes and over 14-1/2F at Doncaster in the St Leger. A longer trip on softer ground in the Arc could easily see Continuous reverse that French Derby form with Ace Impact at Longchamp in my opinion. And for the record, I'm not knocking Ace Impact. Definitely a very talented colt in his own right, obviously, cause he's still unbeaten.

    • @Souljah2008
      @Souljah2008 10 месяцев назад

      @@GBeret83 I see what you are saying but I'm confident Ace Impact will relish soft conditions underfoot on account of his Oldman Cracksman absolutely loving soft to heavy conditions. Also regarding the step up to a mile and a half he looked like he was only really getting going near the line over 2100 metres in the French Derby. He hit the line very powerfully at Chantilly. I'm very confident this year in Ace Impact and I think he's the best Three year old middle distance horse ability wise in the world at the moment including Auguste Rodin.
