Struggling with which finger, index or middle to choose as my striker. Also the high G 5th string is messing with my head. I'm a guitar player aspring to learn banjo so it feels unnatural that what is normally the lowest pitch string is high!
Ah yeah, it can be confusing. Try to ignore, it at least to start with. It's effectively a drone string rather than something that's there for playing melody (most of the time at least).
