- Hi Guys! I'm uploading this a week in advance, so by the time you read this, I will be in Oklahoma. Here's a remix of one of my favorite battle themes. I'm finding that the artwork I find helps me solidify the atmosphere of the remix I make... If that makes sense at all. Thank you to the artist of this piece with Jasmine and Steelix! ^^

The music is badass as hell, and I feel like grinning, as Jasmine was actually my favourite gym leader in Gen II, not just for the fact she has no gym trainers, but also because she just appears as this angelic figure, but has a type which really contrasts her gentle attitude!
An argument could be made that all the "gym trainers" were at the lighthouse, seeing as how you need to clear it first to fight her.

Keegan is Stupid as hell, and I feel like shitting, as Keegan was actually my least favorite people in Gen Z, not just for the fact that he has no talents, but also because he just appears as this stupid Idiot, but has a type which really contrasts her STUPID attitude.

Both the song and the art are cool as hell ! The theme makes me think about ice or cold steel, i don't know if that's the effect you were looking for but if that's the case you totally managed ! ^-^

As of today, this still stands as probably the best reinterpretation of a Gym Leader theme I've ever listened to.

There's something intimidating- seeing a little girl demand respect with an enormous beast under her command while looking nothing but dead serious.
@AManHas NoName Well, guess I'll have to explain my reasoning... Sorry for the long post beforehand xD.
Snakes and other animals often intimidate by making themselves look as tall/big as possible. Yet this Steelix lowered its head to match the height of the girl. Nor did this Steelix position itself (in a protective manner) before or even next to the girl (as an equal), but instead positioned itself behind the girl. All this despite being able to crush her within a minute. So to me this Steelix isn't furious looking, but obedient yet powerful looking. Which can be interpreted as the Steelix showing her the respect she earned from it. And since it's a mega she clearly also earned its trust.
The girl looks straight ahead, doesn't laugh or grin, and doesn't tilt her chin up. She also doesn't seem embarrassed, or even care at all, about the wind catching below her dress. To me this is what someone who is serious looks like.
Since she looks and probably is young (especially for a gym leader). And the Pokémon universe has humans like ours. It would be logical to assume she has had to deal with older trainers looking down upon her for her age on multiple occasions. Just like young people in high positions have to deal with in our world.
So yes I do think she demands to be taken serious (demand proper respect) the way she is drawn and positioned in this art. Since it's art you're free to interpret it however you like, but so are we.

Nice symbolism for fanart.. Even though the steelix was probably positioned this low to fit into the frame, and behind so the girl could be the focus... Also by that logic every pokemon could crush their trainer but don't

Ash-Greninja Gx7 hell, I'd be cool with it. Her team wasn't really that strong, and even in the rematches in saffron and PWT, her whole team (With the exception of Bronzong and Scizor) are straight weak to earthquake.
What could her team be now? Mega Steelix (Of course), bronzong (Levitate), Scizor, Ferrothorn, Magnazone (With Magnet Rise) and Aegislash?

I've kinda stopped listening to game remixes for about a year, but ever since I found this channel a few days ago, I've been roped back into it! I don't even like the GSC gym theme that much but this remix was incredible!
Also, love the artwork, Jasmine is one of my favorite Gym Leaders.

It always strikes me as weird that Jasmine didn't have a Skarmory.
That's a complaint that I have with her that and having to get the potion for her Ampharos. I wish she had her Gym attendant do that.
@HO HIM LEUNG i don’t think she should have been an electric leader. partly because no Johto gyms repeat Kanto gym types, but mainly for the contrast between her personality and the steel type. However, Ampharos definitely could have been part of her team regardless and I don’t think anyone would complain.
She should have had a Forretress, Skarmory, and Steelix. She might have been even harder than Whitney at that point. A Fire type would have been a necessity.
I didn't even know Skarmory was introduced in Gen 2 because I never ever saw it as a kid. I thought it was introduced in Gen 3. They should've made Jasmine have one🙄

Jasmine inspired this Jasmine to become a steel type specialist, now I’ve been challenging myself with bringing the best out of every steel type I catch and using them solely for battle. Steel types are the premier type amongst all others. Truly elite. Thanks Jasmine for making me fall in love with steel types.
I think that is dope that you are a steel user because of her! Can I ask what is your go to strategy for dealing with fire types? They always have good special attack while most steels tend to have low special def.
Kinda like how Elite Four Karen inspired my love of dark type pokemon (including my favorite, houndoom) and with one line about strong and weak are just selfish perceptions and to win with your favorites

Thanks so much! Tonal balancing, of which you mentioned, is something I like to focus on, but sometimes don't execute correctly. I think this one came out great though. :)

Sure thing! I actually started doing remixing in the demo version of FL Studio which is free. The demo comes with full functionality; however, you won't be able to open saved projects until you purchase the software. So what I did for a while was work on one project and instead of shutting down my computer, I would keep my computer on or in Sleep Mode so that I wouldn't lose my project. You can still save your project, you just won't be able to open it until you get the full version. Hopefully this helps a little. Good luck! :D

Undeniably the most amazing gym leader in the entire franchise. Seeing her as a more shy, timid, soft person at first, then finding out she's a STEEL type GYM LEADER adds so many layers to her character. And, yes, easily the most adorable gym leader as well
I would've said Sabina, to be honest. She's very interesting and charismatic. One actually fears her, she's a perffect match for psy type. But they can both be first. :D

@@lyuke3653 heres a story. Pokemon gold was my first pokemon game. Did t know anything about it except that i wanted to fit in with some kids at school. I started playing and chose cyndiquil cuz i thought it looked cool and cute. I had a quilava before i even fought the bird gym. I also had gastly. I thought gastly was weak but i figured since my pokemon was kinda weak at first maybe gastly would be stronger once evolved. Had that haunter whole game and never found out about it being a trade evolution until it was level 45 and still hadnt evolved. So i used quilava who was level 27 at the time, and haunter at level 26. They both made quick work of her, between smokescreen from quilava and hypnosis from haunter took her miltank down quickly. And only haunter was female
Jasmine in so nice yet she's one of hardest fights in the games and also you's steelix an intemidating Pokemon.

jasmine's steelix is a great ace, it's high leveled for the point in the game you encounter it and that defense stat...if you have physical attackers you're in for a fight.

Jasmine is very useful in "pokemon masters", thanks to the moves that her steelix can do, her anti-critical attacks move and the fact she can use mega-evolution
nice to see that now she can power up herself with mega evolution! Hope in future remixes of gsc, we can see her mega evolving her steelix because she was too EZ(I mean, Pryce is EZier),I ohko all her Pokemons with earthquake from quagsire(in hgss and crystal)
