Thanks for this informative video. I just got to know an intensivist and learned that she was in the thick of the battle during the pandemic. My respect and admiration for her increased. Subbing to your channel to learn more about her work.
I found you on clubhouse after listening about what your channel is. While I have zero career in the medical field whatsoever I am fascinated and like to keep myself informed on things outside my own other interests.
I'm a respiratry therapist I have a couple of months to finish study, I studied medicine before but I quite and im thinking of studying medicine again and be an intensivist, but i might not do it because i've already done 8 years of college studying and i will be 38 years old the time I becoma an intesivist. So it will be a life chainging decision. What made me really like intesivist work is becuase my field is in the ICU and I like their work
Where did you do your fellowship. I'm hoping to get into med school, do IM, and then CCM only fellowship without Pulm. Does doing only CCM put you at a disadvantages for the job market.
Ah! The term was only added recently, but the role isn’t new. Some sceptics concerned about pandemic manipulation have taken the new dictionary addition as a new overseeing body installed on ICU wards specifically to administer guidelines to practicing frontline doctors in ICU wards as a means to control the outcome and optic of the pandemic. I am relieved that this is just a term recognized in the dictionary lately and not a new instalment of overseers with their hands on the levers of strict protocols. This is important to sort out as to flatten the curve of the participates of compliance and the hesitant sceptics jumping to conclusions of organized manipulators enforcing the agenda of the ultra rich and powerful apposed to democratic free society.
So, basically, the complete opposite of what I want in my life 😂 sounds like the kind of job that would cause me to have an anxiety attack in a corner. Not during an emergency--I'm pretty good at staying focused during--but after, when it's over, and I can process it, all the adrenaline would spill out.
If you told me 10 years ago, I’d be doing this as my job I would have NEVER believed you. I was a ball of anxiety on a daily basis. I hear you though - sometimes after a high stress procedure or situation I’m like...what the heck just happened?
This is exactly what I was searching for. Everything about being an intensivist. Madam could you please tell do intensivist get credit and gratitude from the family of patients?
