      @jeffk464 Год назад +2

      I wouldn't make the trade, brand new Bronco the in thing right now in exchange for an old wrangler. I've heard the 2024 wrangler is going to get a refresh so at least it will have all the new electronic gizmos the Bronco has, that would be a worthy trade. It would also give TFL the opportunity to showcase all the new stuff. You know the biggest complaint with the Wrangler is that it wanders down the highway, lane keep assist might make it a lot more pleasant. It will also probably get a similar camera setup to the Bronco.

    • @Silverback_GMT410
      @Silverback_GMT410 Год назад +10

      @@jeffk464 but what you don’t seem to understand is that they are going to be using the vehicle as a camera car, recovery car, and they’re going to bash it on some tight trails, one which everyone in the company can drive. And as they explained, they did everything possible with the Bronco. And financially it wouldn’t make sense to hold out for a new Wrangler.

    This is hilarious. Last Friday I bought a 2018 JK Wrangler Golden Eagle. Two door, manual. Why? Partly because of re-watching all your Jeep content over the past 8 years or so. Drove 450 miles to get it and 450 home. Love it for all the reasons you just mentioned in this video. Price wise, paying $35K CAN for an as new rig that has never seen a dirt road let alone off road and has only 18K miles, leaves me thinking that I did OK. Thanks TFL for all you do. Smart buy, basically the same one I made a couple years ago with my low mile built JKU. You will have to likely replace the oil cooler and will have to keep an eye on the diffs/axles if those actually haven’t been beefed up at all. Still those additional costs down the road are nothing compared to the $$$ saved up front.

Though I agree with you on the nav system, it is known for beimg glitchy. 40gb HDD with barely 20gb available was a common problem, and they dontend to sketch out over time. Just about every all terrain tire out there is better than a KO2. KO2s require tire rotations like every oil change or they will cup badly. They are super noisy on the road and I’ve seen many mud terrain’s that are quieter. Ik lots of people that used KO2s and hated them. I recommend Falken Wildpeak A/T3W to anyone that wants offroad capability and great on road performance. They don’t cup unless you never rotate them and they are extremely quiet on road and they kill the KO2 in wet performance and winter conditions

    For Tommy: Do lookup DARPA SHAPE SHIFTING WHEELS which turn from ROUND into Triangular-shaped snowmobile-like TRACKS at the touch of a button and back again to a Round shape with another button-touch.
    You guys can get one of your local builders to CNC machine your own or buy them directly from a DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) contractor. Since they were U.S. government-developed, they are public property and you can get CAD/CAM plans at a relatively CHEAP cost and machine them yourself. You can also contact DARPA itself and get an in-person driveable demo (i.e. usually installed on a Humvee!) from one of the local Army or USMC bases!
    Shape-Shifting wheels are the NEWEST WAY to get through all sorts of soft snow, ice, mud and sand. I also suggest you get a GREAT CAD/CAM artist to see if you can design and build retractible PUSH-THROUGH steel studs (i.e. half-inch diameter steel rods) that come in and out of holes drilled into the rubber tracks themselves so you can get through the gnarliest of icey and snow terrain.
    The tracks/wheels are actually a 2 inch thick belt of standard tire rubber with a good 3-peak winter-rated M/T tread design on them that are supported by a six-piece articulated hydraulic frame and piston mechanism that goes into multiple shapes from round wheel to triangular track shape.
    Press a button when needed and the steel studs come out through the tracks just like Cat Claws and another button-press they retract into the shapeshifting wheel infrastructure for on-road driving. Make sure the retractible steel studs work in ROUND wheel shape mode and in the Triangular-Track-shaped mode! Put these onto the Jeep, on the RAM 1500 or even on a Dodge Grand Voyager Minivan just for kicks to see what happens to off-road performance using DARPA Shape Shifting Wheels!
    If we can get MORE of the truck manufacturers to look at these types of DARPA SHAPE SHIFTING WHEELS and put them on modern trucks/SUVs and also sell them as refit-kits for older vehicles, we can bring futuristic multi-terrain 4x4/off-roading INTO THE HERE AND NOW !!!

    Anyone who puts Mickey Thompson Tires on their 4x4 IS A TRULY HARDCORE off-roader! They are expensive but WELL WORTH IT! I've bought a few in the past and they worked wonders for older 4x4 vehicles in mud, snow, ice, soft sand, loose gravel and big rocks.
    I highly recommend them for Jeep Gladiator Rubicon builds. You can get away with 40 inch Mickey Thompson tires on the Gladiator if you do a high enough lift with the KING-brand Liquid Suspension shocks package which are one of my favourites. The KING shocks are GREAT for 35 inch, 37 inch and 40 inch tires on Jeeps!
    Look up "The Story Til Now" channel which has great examples of the SEVERE types of off-road terrain you can go on with multiple high-end tire types! SPEND the money on REALLY good tires! BF Goodrich KO2's are NOT the be-all and end-all of tires. Lookup Goodyear Duratracs, anything from Mickey Thompson, Nitto Ridge Grappler and Nitto EXO Grappler. Those are getting into TRUE M/T tires designed for the most GNARLY of terrain!
    Anyways, this Jeep will be an AWESOME ADDITION to the TFL lineup ....AND.... I highly recommend a ROAD TRIP to the Nantahala National Forest lands in North Carolina and go right to the free-to-explore Bureau of Land Management roads that are right next door, in order to experience some GNARLY and RUGGED off-road terrain that may not be as high at Colorado, but is CERTAINLY just as rugged in terms of the off-road road conditions you can see. This means THE JEEP IS IDEAL for such a trip starting ANYWHERE between Rosman and going all the way EAST to the Tennessee border through some TRULY wild and lonely winding mountain roads and big off-road trails.
    Please also mount multiple GoPro Hero 11 cameras on the front, rear, left and right sides of the Jeep and record the entire trip at 1080p at 120-fps (frames per second) out to some USB-3 connected 20 terabyte hard drives ($300 USD) so that you can get CLEAR AND SHARP footage of all the deer, mountain lions and maybe even the elusive EASTERN BIGFOOT that is "known" to lurk in those woods!
    On google maps enter the below coordinate of the Eastern part of North Carolina so you UNDERSTAND what you can see trail-wise:
    35.065882, -84.0991895
    Mid-February to Early April is the PERFECT time to go because the roads are far less filled with people and the snow is mostly just 4 to 8 inch dustings at the top parts of some of the wildest territory around is available to be traversed and there are some GREAT campspots to test out the ability of the Jeep to hand the gnarliest of terrain!
    LOOK IT UP!

    Selling the Bronco, under 10k miles, while demand is high is smart business because, after all TFL is a business. I owned a 2015 JKU Willys for almost seven years and going to a ‘22 Bronco was a huge difference, especially in transmission and driving experience. For their use case, it probably makes sense to go for a used vehicle that fulfills their requirements and that’s great, for their situation. Everyone may have similar use cases but most of us don’t have the same requirements as TFL. ✌🏼

    That's not a bad deal for that Rubi with all of its AEV goodies. I'm seeing similar stock Rubicons sell for that much around here. Also the Baja Boss AT has been my favorite AT so far. It's a little on the heavy side for ATs, but its been fantastic on my truck in all kinds of terrain.

      You in a 3/4 or half ton? I've managed to get 70k miles with 2 rotations on a set of 10ply LR "E" nitto ridge grapplers, good tires but could be a little better in the snow forsure. Not sure if I wanna buy those again or try something else, I'd like something with the snow rating, see if I notice a different during winter times.

      @@jeffk464 Nothing against Bronco, it’s a fantastic off roader, but the Jeep is the most loved one… One video talking about Jeep gets 10 times more views than any other vehicle. I have 2021 Rubicon, I know it’s not the fastest, I know it’s not the most comfortable, the fuel economy is horrible but I love this vehicle. Actually it’s my 4th Wrangler.
