🤔, It's going for 75 min. It's probably gonna b closer to 82/3, ish .
It would be good to remind people of how you got a chance to own that bronco as it was an extremely good cause.
I’ll take it. Didn’t sell in auction
Why not a 4 runner?
bc those are lame
I've literally watched Tommy's face changed from kid to full adult on this platform
Once he puts on some weight he’ll look just like his dad.
and Roman still has no gray hair ... it's a miracle
@@kennethjinkins8967 Hey, just for men only works if you still have hair.
me too
Tommy went from nerd, to copy cat of his dad…
I'll always remember this Bronco for one thing: An excellent off-road rescuer, from the Defender's double blowout to the Hummer EV being stuck on a high boulder.
For sure! Lol Cannot beat Ford trucks/Broncos etc 💯
Looking forward to visiting you guys in April!
I’m going to hate seeing the Bronco go. But a fully built out Jeep is a decent trade. Well explained transition from one to another.
I wouldn't make the trade, brand new Bronco the in thing right now in exchange for an old wrangler. I've heard the 2024 wrangler is going to get a refresh so at least it will have all the new electronic gizmos the Bronco has, that would be a worthy trade. It would also give TFL the opportunity to showcase all the new stuff. You know the biggest complaint with the Wrangler is that it wanders down the highway, lane keep assist might make it a lot more pleasant. It will also probably get a similar camera setup to the Bronco.
@@jeffk464 but what you don’t seem to understand is that they are going to be using the vehicle as a camera car, recovery car, and they’re going to bash it on some tight trails, one which everyone in the company can drive. And as they explained, they did everything possible with the Bronco. And financially it wouldn’t make sense to hold out for a new Wrangler.
I’m surprised at the low mileage. Hard to find jeeps at that price with low miles. I think it’s a great pick up. Especially the AEV set up. I’m jealous of the cage. Gotta get one for mine. I can’t remember if they came with upgraded skid plates or not plus engine/trans skid
Cool jeep! I like how you guys are always mixing up your fleet.
I wouldn't mind one some day. I have lots of trails and logging roads around me that I enjoy traveling and watching wildlife.
Go for it, you will not regret. 😉
I think the channel would of did better with customizing the bronco than an old outdated jeep. So many channels are doing Jeeps but not to many doing broncos. Sad
2016 was the best year for the JKU Rub. This one in particular looks AWESOME kitted out in green. AEV's fab work is top notch.
I think it's definitely a great reason for the trade-off, but I'll miss the Bronco! I'm looking forward to seeing the gnarlier terrain in your videos in the future.
Does tommy still have his red wrangler? Or did he trade it for a mini? 😆
He ditched it
Bummer. He should get a wrangler and keep it the rest of his life and hand it down to his kids. Blaze seemed to like that truck.
Smart buy, basically the same one I made a couple years ago with my low mile built JKU. You will have to likely replace the oil cooler and will have to keep an eye on the diffs/axles if those actually haven’t been beefed up at all. Still those additional costs down the road are nothing compared to the $$$ saved up front.
Typical Fiat Chrysler
I owned a 2016 AEV JK350 and this video makes me miss it terribly! I can not say enough good things about that Jeep. I think $34k is a very reasonable price for the value of what you get. Look forward to seeing it in future videos.
Honestly I think the Ford Bronco looks like a HUMMER H3 on steroids 😂😂
LOLLL
Do I get a discount for a RUclips comment?
Nice Jeep. I've owned 5 Jeeps since 1997. 2 TJ's, 1 JKR, 1 JKS, and my current JLUR. I'll have to admit that I didn't like either of the JK's as much as my TJ's and I know I'm going to catch some smoke for this, but my JLUR is by far the best Jeep I've owned.
I'd take an AEV equipped Jeep over the Bronco any day, too.
I’m still a little confused about the motive for the switch? Because the Bronco is too expensive a vehicle for the off-roading you’re planning? But it’s designed for that.
Pretty sure 2016 was the last year for the first version of the 3.6 pentastar and that first version has a bunch of problems
I JUST WATCHED VIDEO LAST NIGHT OF REVERSE...DIFFERENT OWNER....SELLING JEEP TO GET A BRONCO....
Mickey Thompsons are bulletproof! You WILL want to rotate the crap out of those babies though...they wear unevenly on the outside if not
If you want a true Bronco it Needs to be like a Jeep underneath Broncos are just like any other regular everyday suv not much to do with I like jeeps because they don't copy off everybody everybody else wants to be like them Don't let modern society destroy the Jeep
Get ride of the unnecessary Luxury and in the Big-Boy in the house.
You have my video views now that your selling the Bronco I never cared about.
You’ve got to be kidding. I love my JK. But I couldn’t get that Uconnect out of the dash fast enough. It was horrible.
Runs out of content with a bone stock Bronco.... You mean ran out of creativity. Was sad to see you not take advantage of the modularity benefits over the wrangler to personalize and transform it.
An old outdated jeep over a first edition bronco what a weird move by tfl
Still have a difficult time comprehending vehicle prices compared to ten years ago.
This truly is the new norm. With that being said, when you look how that jeep is equipped, you really did get an excellent deal. Awesome find!
I'm really looking forward to future episodes as you guys test the full capabilities of this jeep.
Thanks to the ppl in government the cost of everything is very high!! Pure greed!
Not the government bragging about 10 billion in profit. Not the gov that now pays union less then mcdonalds not the gov that blamed workers for making too much and that's the reason behind high prices bc now they make less and vehicles are up 10k a piece for an iPad in the dash. It's the manufacturers ripping us off after they showed up in private planes and limos to ask the public for money knowing they would fail and re do all the contracts for less but make billions later all off us. Let em go down in flames. Looked at a lt silverado 600 a month lol it was almost a work truck.
Not even 10 years ago more like 2 and a half years ago.
@@theglitch99 : No, inflation is people being stupid with their money, i.e. paying over Monroney, ordering a vehicle and waiting for months for delivery, buying a gashog when oil/gasoline prices will only go up.
@@Alexi7666 only the government can cause inflation! Not sure I follow your anti gas statement? Do you believe magical electric cars will save us all from ourselves?
Wow... a 7 year old Wrangler. ... interesti..n.....g.... Zzzzzzz................
Good choice, just don’t lie to everyone. The bronco unfortunately isn’t as strong off-road as ford said it would be. People in Utah keep breaking them. I was happy the bronco was making a comeback. The raptor looks to fix a lot of the problems that have been found.
Wow "synthetic lights"........ fancy 🙂
It’s a polite way to get away from a Bronco and buy the most loved off roader
No really it’s just he can’t keep the bronco because it’s expensive. Bronco better on the road and off road. Enjoy ur day
He already had a 2 dr
@@G24184 I think the Bronco is a lot better on road and almost as good off road.
@@jeffk464 Nothing against Bronco, it’s a fantastic off roader, but the Jeep is the most loved one… One video talking about Jeep gets 10 times more views than any other vehicle. I have 2021 Rubicon, I know it’s not the fastest, I know it’s not the most comfortable, the fuel economy is horrible but I love this vehicle. Actually it’s my 4th Wrangler. The Wrangler is a “Lego” for big boys.
Noooo bye bronco! Good luck selling it wish I could afford that bad boy, look forward to the content!
I hope whisltyndiesel buys that bronco and destroys it beyond recognition
I love my 16 JKU Rubicon. The AEV equpped rigs are awesome. I have their suspension but not all of the other AEV goodness.
He talks about how wonderful and capable it it is; and then talks how it is too expensive to use off road much. A perfect argument why the bronco doesn't make any sense
The new Bronco is not good enough like the old ones Jeep still makes vehicles that are better and what people want
I just discovered these guys about a month ago, thanks to suggestions popping up after watching my usual Matt’s Off-road recovery, Robby Layton, & Fab Rats channels.. & I’m SO glad I clicked! Been binge watching everything between all of TFL’s channels & really have learned a ton about vehicles! We don’t get the off roading opportunities here in Iowa like you guys do, but to learn about mechanics (thanks Toby😂) & different drivetrains, suspensions, engine capabilities, etc is awesome cause I love tinkering with trucks & learning more about them any time I can! ((I’ve also discovered that Tommy is definitely my new internet crush 🤭🤷🏼♀️😂)) Keep putting out great content - you guys have got a new fan for sure! 🤙🏻
MORR is amazing! I'm absolutely in love with his xj, thing is built PERFECT. Looks perfect too. I used to not be a fan for no reason really but check out heavy d sparks youtube channel. He does recoveries too....solid content and dudes actually nice as can be. He's worked with Matt and recently with robby layton
@@meaninglessvalue7778 thanks for the suggestion! I’m always looking for new channels to watch on RUclips since I don’t have TV - & I love anything & everything car related!
if there's one thing missing from TFL its Jeep content......
Short and simple, the jeeps solid axle and aftermarket is far superior to the bronco. Great choice in the swap. Never been a fan of the broncos
wranglers are the most overpriced vehicle nationwide right now
So much Jeep for only 35k! Amazing
I mean you could have filmed some videos teaching the new staff how to drive stick. Find out who's the better teacher among the TFL crew.
There's just something about a well built JK Jeep.
They "bought it" for views, made a bunch of videos, and are moving on. I always laugh when YT channels talk about "buying" or owning a vehicle when at best they keep it 6 months or a year and dump it for something else to chase views with. They really just short term lease them in effect.
Saved you 10m 16s
On top of that, the bronco was never his . It was a company car, tommy owns a red wrangler already . They bought this one like you said for content but will get rid of it by the end of the year just watch
Very smart swap! I don't have a Jeep but I'm a huge fan of AEV. Their Chevy Colorado and Jeep parts are awesome.
The best i can do is a dollar and a bag of skittles
you lost me at "Is the Jeep as capable as the Bronco? No."
34K is cheap for that Jeep! I love the color.
Had a 2 door Bronco. I broke both half shafts. Driver side twice. When the motor failed, i let Ford replace it under warranty but when the trans shit the bed, I had them replace it and I sold it a week later. Literal junk.
The only Jeeps I've seen broken down on the highway were JKs lol. Great channel, keep up the good work!
The JL’s didn’t even make it that far! lol
This is hilarious. Last Friday I bought a 2018 JK Wrangler Golden Eagle. Two door, manual. Why? Partly because of re-watching all your Jeep content over the past 8 years or so. Drove 450 miles to get it and 450 home. Love it for all the reasons you just mentioned in this video. Price wise, paying $35K CAN for an as new rig that has never seen a dirt road let alone off road and has only 18K miles, leaves me thinking that I did OK. Thanks TFL for all you do. Education and entertainment all in one place. ✌
Did you guys upgrade the front tie rods at all? They are a common fail point...
I suspect the JKUR-AEV will be able to tolerate a bit more trail abuse than the Bronco. Big bonus is how many parts are floating around if needed.
Does it have SpeedBump bump stops or something similar? That would really help it soak up the bumps and help the videographers get better footage.
I get the explanation. Yet I don't. Guess I'm not the Jeep fan TFL seems to be. What I would have liked to have seen is them picking up a new or lightly used current year Nissan Frontier and build it out.
The reasons given for this 'trade down' :) are legit! I do like the cage addition to the Jeep, good looking tires, whether or not that can 'keep up' with BFG's time and future runs will tell.
Somebody's going to buy themselves a great Bronco here too.
Just about every all terrain tire out there is better than a KO2. KO2s require tire rotations like every oil change or they will cup badly. They are super noisy on the road and I’ve seen many mud terrain’s that are quieter. Ik lots of people that used KO2s and hated them. I recommend Falken Wildpeak A/T3W to anyone that wants offroad capability and great on road performance. They don’t cup unless you never rotate them and they are extremely quiet on road and they kill the KO2 in wet performance and winter conditions
He actually traded up. That's how bad that bronco is. You must have missed the statement that the could build the bronco to be as good as the jeep. A 10year old fj is still better the anything that Ford puts out.
@@ernestjohnson1807 I 100% agree with you
@@brandonruhl1639wow tell us you don’t know what you’re talking about without directly saying that
@@lanehart6525 Ik what I’m talking about from experience with KO2s
That Jeep is a HELLUVA bargain from what you have shown. That is a LOT of stuff for 34K. 9 year old JK with all that gear/accessories that when new was 60+K lost nearly 1/2 its value one might say, but one never gets their value back from accessorizing. Costs to do all that now would be easily 40K. So, wow. TFL made a good deal there. IMO. Will be interesting to see how long it stays in the family. 😉 I would consider buying that thing with all that stuff on it for that amount of money and I don't even have a need for it. lol
I looooove my 2015 JKU. I think the newer (2013-2018) JK generation is the best!
Happy to see it! A 4 door JK in the mix is good for general comparison. Kinda wish it was a JL just so that it's relevant to today's standard.
That's not a bad deal for that Rubi with all of its AEV goodies. I'm seeing similar stock Rubicons sell for that much around here. Also the Baja Boss AT has been my favorite AT so far. It's a little on the heavy side for ATs, but its been fantastic on my truck in all kinds of terrain.
You in a 3/4 or half ton? I've managed to get 70k miles with 2 rotations on a set of 10ply LR "E" nitto ridge grapplers, good tires but could be a little better in the snow forsure. Not sure if I wanna buy those again or try something else, I'd like something with the snow rating, see if I notice a different during winter times.
Great pick on the JKU, I’ve wanted to see just how capable an AEV set up is, so I look forward to you guys testing it out as well. I’ll argue it’s more capable just by articulation alone, as well as stronger steering components. Tommy, you know you wanted a wrangler back in the TFL family…just admit it…hahaha
Yup. More articulation plus ground clearance. The shorter wheelbase definitely helps with crawling as well.
Good call getting the JKU. I had a JLU, & I loved it, but it had one problem after another. I’m too practical & traded it; the galvanic corrosion was the last straw.
its not same v6.. notice differnt compression raiots, oil capacity etc.. same evolved maybe..
Jeeps equals poor decisions.
Rare TFL L
Last but not least it's amazing seeing how you grown up Tommy you truly are a spitting image of your father. Stay safe and warm y'all and have a blessed day
Not a trade I would be super happy about, but I recognize the reasoning behind it and it does make sense. Didn't you guys use a Land Rover support/camera vehicle for a pretty good stretch?
I'm still waiting for a video that shows what a stock bronco can do that a comparable stock jeep cannot, or vise versa
The Bronco humbled by an AEV JK. My day is complete. I hope Dave Harriton is watching.
As a JK Wrangler owner I'm excited to see the "new" addition to the stable.
I have always been a huge fan of TFL and still will but I REALLY wish you would keep and modify the bronco.
Stole that jeep for 34k
I just have a 2 door Base Bronco but I'm getting those same 35" M/T Baja Boss this spring. They look really good on that Jeep. Both are really sweet vehicles!
Re-Gear it to 4.88 gears and that Jeep becomes a beast. Best modification that I ever did...
AEV didn’t do that to this one already?
Sync 1 in Fords has also aged well. Early 2010 infotainment was everything u need, nothing u don’t. They didn’t hate physical buttons in 2012 either.
Guess you’re forgetting about MyFordTouch
Good choice, and actually a great price in today's market. 1. If you spend time on the highway, replace those hood latches. Sooner than later. 2. Though I agree with you on the nav system, it is known for beimg glitchy. 40gb HDD with barely 20gb available was a common problem, and they dontend to sketch out over time. Still, I love it and don't mind the flaws. But one more thing, ..."synthetic lights"?
Gotta be hard to get rid of that sweet Bronco! I get it though ..you guys need new content all the time. Plus at under 10k mis you will surely still get a premium selling that awesome off rd beast! Got a '23 Ranger XLT Tremor on order since Jan13th thanks in part to your indepth reviews ..& my friend has a '19 Ranger XLT FX4 that's just an awesome truck. Been impeccable 4yrs/ 47k mis he's had it so far & its so overengineered w/T6 frame/proven Gen2 TGDI powertrain/heavy duty 10R80 from F150/Dana axles etc. He pulls an 04 SVT Cobra terminator w/his Ranger all the time & it doesn't miss a beat. Blows me away how easily it pulls 5k+ lbs (fully enclosed trailer) Anyway look fwd to many more great reviews in that Jeep! Get a new '23 Raptor R for content!!! 😀 👍🏻
Finally, a Rubicon! Tommy's Jeep is so "meh" lol
Great video, as usual!
You should have gotten an older 4.0. That one is far more reliable.
I just love the FACT that you are USING a JEEP as a RESCUE Vehicle! I have pulled several Broncos out of trouble with my 2020 Grand Cherokee Hemi V8 Trailhawk that is still STOCK but I can keep up with the Rubicon Wranglers.
Tommy, you’re smoking stronger stuff than I am if you think Chrysler’s U-Connect system is is an industry leader. That shit is “quick” (much like diarrhea), but has the resolution of a potato, simple tasks like pairing a phone are way overly complicated and the UI is one of the least intuitive on the market.
Wrangler are everywhere!!!!…. Love to
See other broncos. The front lights are beautiful and the ride is great.
The Uconnect system on the JKs is awful. I just upgraded my stereo to one that has wireless CarPlay and it's worth every penny.
I think it’s a great trade for the purpose of the channel. I bought my son a 2016 JKU Rubicon with just about all of the AEV gear yours has, but his is white and is doing the whole “storm trooper “ thing with it, and it’s a very capable vehicle. With 77k miles, picked it up for 30k even.
Tommy NEEDS to look at this video:
26 Hemi Jeep Gladiator On 40s: Can It Conquer This Trail
(i.e. The Story Til Now channel)
to see a great example of what the TFL Jeep is TRULY capable of and then TAKE THIS JEEP on a BIG ROAD TRIP to one or more of North Carolina (Nantahala Forest area), to Washington State coast mountains, to southwestern British Columbia high mountains or to Western Alberta and/or to High Peaks Wilderness or Five Ponds Wilderness in Vermont, anywhere north of Craig's Lake Forest in northern Michigan (i.e. Upper Penninsula) ....OR... drive the MYSTERIOUS Allagash Wilderness 4x4 roads in Maine!
This would be a GREAT set of videos to make! Just remember to mount GoPros running at 1080p at 120 fps on front, back and both sides out to 20 TB hard drives to capture all the great natural landscape views plus some local wildlife AND maybe even some of those elusive cryptids called Bigfoot or Dogmen!

I can't help but laugh when I hear about these new Jeeps with 35" tires, a 3.5" lift and no re-gear lol. And a back up camera on a Jeep... I'm dead
I picked up a 2010 JK Wrangler Rubicon with 58k miles for 21k in NY, yeah it has a 3.8, but it is spotless, was obviously garaged, and cared for properly, as it does not have a spot of rust, engine bay spotless, and in NY ! And looks better than my 2016 JKU 75th Anniversary Edition.
Smart to sell the Bronco but probably 6 months too late to get the most bang for buck. Especially when you know that they put this bronco through a lot of beatings. The reserve is high and I think anything above 60k is probably as good as it will get.
We have the truth guys. My son loved his jeeps until he got his toyota 4 runner 2020. If you have FREE sponsors constantly FIXING your jeep ????? When you grow up and have 3 kids take a look at that. There is a Toyota waiting for you. I like you guys , but please clarify, did the business buy the jeep as a national business owner this makes a big difference. To normal people there is no value in the jeep. Old school , take out on the weekend , do 3,000 dollars damage , fix during the week and doing it again. Not throwing mud , As a upstate NY teen I used to road race my 57 black chevy , 55 chevy pickup, 67 chevy Camaro, and last not least 69 chevy Camaro convertible etc. I totaled all of them . Every time I think what they would be worth. Be well all.
More capable than the Bronco? Yes, your AEV JK Wrangler doesn't have an alternator mounted low on the engine like the Bronco does. Take that Bronco through any significant water crossing here in the South and its bye bye alternator lol and you will be stranded. Seen it in Ozark Overland Adventures channel. But you guys at TFL don't really do any significant off road driving like other RUclipsrs or their viewers do.
Lol, you should spend more time selling your Bronco instead of justifying your purchase of a less-expensive recovery vehicle. My recovery vehicle is a 2002 Tacoma. My daily truck is now a 2023 Tremor. I don't need to justify either of them. However, if I was trying to sell one of them, I would focus on that. Peace, Love!!
are the JL's slightly roomier? I sat in my daughters JK and it felt cramp, went into my wifes JL and it feels roomier! I just imported in from the philippines a 2023 Hijet van LHD, start button, stick, locking diff, AC, etc. My son was already bringing in a LHD jimny and landcruiser from over there, so they just stuffed my hijet along in hahaha, was $22.5k, def not as roomy as your bronco or wrangler! But great on gas and capable of going places and doing things on my ranch and around town, fitting into the best parkings haha
There is still one thing you haven't done with a Bronco...that whole trip to the junk yard to put it out of its misery. Get a real truck for off-road. A real naturally aspirated engine, real solid axles, made of a real steel! Jeep Wrangler, Ram 2500, Ford f250, Chevy 2500...and the list goes on! Off road vehicles with turbo put put engines belong in only one place, the crusher.
“did everything we can do with the vehicle” time and you didn’t even get a myTop for your bronco. You barely even had the top down 🤦♂️
The Jeep Wrangler Reliability Rating is 3.5 out of 5.0, which ranks it 25th out of 26 for compact SUVs.
For big 3, I would choose Ford, then GM, never FCA😅
1. Problems with jeeps is that that the interior for me is uncomfortable for a big person. Just a tight uncomfortable fit. I’m 6-2” /250. Long limbs.
2. Bronco addresses that issue.
3. Selling your bronco cause you don’t want to use it for off roading? What’s the point of owning a bronco?
Need to start teaching those guys how to drive a manual 😂
Doesn't he own a red 2 door wrangler already?
He got quietly rid of it . wanted to keep the Stelantis products coming tho, is my guess .
