I liked the mixture of tourist roads and places with the everyday worries of the townspeople. Many details and events, city bustle - all this is delicately captured in history. I like your channel very much. Thank you very much for your hard work!
I lived in Bergen op Zoom for a while, a few years ago. It was refreshing to all the recognizable spots you walked past and bringing back some memories
Being Dutch born, and lived in Bergen op Zoom, from early ‘51 til end ‘57, after we were expatriated from Indonesia, I enjoyed your walk through the city. Immigrated to California in ‘61. Spend 10 days, 5 yrs ago, with sister and childhood friends (also lived in B. op Z. same yrs) in ‘Het Bos Huisje’, minutes away from a Kaas Boerderij. Loved that you gave us glimpses by taking side streets, no longer familiar with the old city we stuck to the more traveled streets. May have been last time we’ll travel to Europe, so I’ll be visiting your travels. Hartelijk dank!!
Thanks for sharing. I lived in BoZ for many years ago. Much has changed whereas other things haven't. This video brought back some old memories, thank you. Much appreciated. And good quality of the recording.
Obrigada Thomas por compartilhar esse videos conosco. A Holanda é um pais lindo e seus videos nos permite conhecer virtuslmente esas lindas cidades. Sucesso para você. ♥️♥️♥️
Thanks Aaron! It took a long time before people started using masks. Actually the National Institute for Public Health was basically against it the first half year.
@@pietjansen2841 Thank you very much for your correction. I believed it was the norwegian city, sorry. Anyway the place is beautiful and I would like to know some day. Love The Netherlands too =)
Kunt u misschien de datum van opname achter de vermelding van de stad zetten? Dan kan men zien of het COVID tijd is of niet. Het lijkt voor iedereen wel of Nederland geen inwoners heeft!
Haha! I quickly clicked on this when I saw it - but I read it as Bergen aan Zee! First few minutes I was thinking "I don't recognise anywhere! Where's the sea?" I'm such an idiot. Lovely walk - really enjoyed it. Interesting to note that they use "West Brabant" sometimes - have they declared Independence? :-)
Noticed that as well. It's a official region comprised of 16 towns and cities that work closely togheter. The region has it's own brabantian dialect(s) and probably is a bit closer to Holland culturally, compared to other regions in Brabant :)
Yes, in the netherlands streets are for detinations, so no trough traffic and many streets have a thing called filtered permeability, which means that cars arren't allowed to go trough a part of a street but cyclist and pedestrians can, which will make cycling or walking a better choice for some trips meaning that more people will cycle or walk which will decrease car traffic.
I BORN IN BERGEN OP ZOOM AND STILL LIVE THERE NOW…..DONT GET FOOLED BY THIS VIDEO ……BERGEN OP ZOOM IS DYING…..MANY STORES ARE EMPTY BECAUSE NO ONE GOES ANYMORE TO SHOP IN THE CENTRAL CITY…..ITS A SMALL BORING CITY…BUT WE LIKE IT THIS WAY CAUSE ITS OURS

How many minutes do you go from the train station to the big square?
@S.t.a.l.k.e.r: it’s 650 meters or 0.40 miles so it will take a minute of 8-10.
@@paulteelen4285 Thanks! Can you get to the big square by bus?
