People who think that i didn't show return Ticket I showed them Onward ticket, ONWARD ticket means ticket out of the country that you are going in my case it was Muscat to Abu Dhabi but they insisted on getting the ticket back to India which is not a rule but illiterate people don't know meaning of Onward ticket, It is not compulsory to return to your home Country you just need Onward ticket from the Country you are going.
And many of my Sikh Brothers are commenting that i meant to insult Sikh people by saying Sardarji spoke in wrong way with me, it is not for all the Sikh Brothers, whenever there is a news in foreign media about a Indian or Sikh person they mention it as a Sikh or Indian then no one says anything to them my best friends are Sikh and I don't need to prove it to anyone, most of the educated Sikh People are taking it as a way of talking but uneducated people want to make it a controversy jo ki veere kadde honi nhi tan tussi relax kro te channel visit karan di koe load nhi haigi

Totally agree with you sir! Delhi Airport is a nightmare these days. My wife was asked to show her marriage certificate by the Finnair staff because she was coming to meet me in Warsaw. They were not ready to believe she is married - can you believe this? They think they are immigration officers

If you want to fix it once for all .Ask them to give you a written boarding denial and take them to court. With 15-20K Salary some staffs goes on power trip.
You must tweet regarding the issue and tag the aviation ministry..asap..this type of nuisance must not be tolerated ...they are here to serve people and make the journey smooth...not to give trauma to a person...strict action must be taken against those culprit and .. justice must be delivered ....more power to you brother.. 🙏🏻

@@manishprashar5653 They only have right to check the visa. That's it. I travel from Canada via US a lot of times. I am Canadian permanent resident with US visa and they ask all the stupid questions - show return ticket to India, or to Canada, where you will stay in US, give the address and all that stuff. Whereas US immigration officer does not ask a single question or proof of reservation or anything. If the country if I am traveling to feels I am not allowed, let them deny me entry. European, or South American countries never ask these questions when I travel from them to Canada via US.
It is not just one airline but all the airlines have some similar issues. Sometimes even the immigration officers are not aware of the rules and I have to show the rules to the immigration officer in India from official government website. Once I was traveling to Turkey on eVisa. Neither the airline staff or the immigration officer knew Indian passport holders with US visa are eligible for Turkey eVisa. I had to literally open Turkish government website and show them that. Even then they were not convinced. They did had a discussion for 1 hour and only then allowed me on board despite a valid visa.
Once an airline staff at Delhi even asked me to show return ticket from Canada to India, it was Air Canada direct flight to Canada. I was so shocked I asked her directly "Do you even know what permanent residence means?".

Even Immigration officer are rude in Delhi. If you look others airports then definitely staffs are very good. Many people have complaint in Delhi staffs .

I have flying out for 9 years from India across many airports and till date, I have only had bad experiences at Delhi airport. The staff there think that they have an entitlement to harass passengers, and when you do fight back because I knew my rights and rules, then they hardly have a good reason for harassing in the first place. Simply pathetic.

Two times I have taken flight from Delhi to Malaysia both times bad behavior I faced.
Even last time I took boarding pass and stood 30 minutes for immigration when my turn came I showed immigration staff my E-Visa he checked and asked some questions after long pause he said I need print copy of this visa. Then I went for print out after that again I reach to the counter but that person was not on the counter so I went to other counter and he didn't demand for hard copy.
They give respect foreigners but humiliate Indian Nationals.
I found Malaysian and Indonesian staff very friendly and supportive.
Evisa hardcopy is needed.

Your observation about ground staff is quite correct; it’s high time for them to upgrade and improve as per the international standards. However, Indian might tolerate their non-professional but non mage of our country damage when they behave the same way with international travellers.
If a forgiener visit India once, he wouldn't dare to visit again, because of such behaviour. Also people in India iritated them by stareing them and asking for photos. Same experience was for my friends from Malaysia.

Yatri bhai, sorry to hear of your experience at IGI. I have been a US citizen for almost five decades and have visited India oh about 7, 8 times. We come only with expectations of hassles every step of airport experience, coming and going. At times, it has been smooth experience at times not so much. But if we start with minimal expectations, you don't get disappointed.

Im an Indian who's living in Germany since past 2 years. I can assure you thaz delhi airport staff apni alag hawabaazi me rehta hai. They're rudest to the people of their own country for no reason. Ive travelled here in EU in many countries and I saw that theyve got the friendliest staff I ever witnessed. Wrna apna Delhi me toh, I dont wanna say anything, but it sucks. And the biggest thing is that I dont even know what's the possible reason behind it.

I had similar experience with indigo staff in Dehradun airport while leaving for Maldives. They said it’s mandatory return ticket, whereas I had Canada visa and onward ticket. Spice jet didn’t have issue but indigo was making hue and cry. Customer service standard is going down and it will be worse in future as airlines are buying hundreds of more flights and they will have to recruit and train stupid by semi skilled manager
Even I was harassed at Kolkata airport for not having Kuala Lumpur visa even though I shared them the mail that I received from the Malaysian embassy, stating that “a tourist does not need any visa if they are transiting at the Kuala Lumpur Airport “. I was travelling to Seoul ( South Korea ) by having a transit in Kuala Lumpur. At last they forced us to combine the PNR by charging ₹10000 ( For 4 Person ). Yeh Indian airport ka staff sirf harass kar ne ke liyeh hain 😢😢
You need single pnr ticket if u r transiting to kuala lumpur airport and going to another country. Its your fault.
Same experience with us during our trip to Kazakhstan, they let us wait for hours since they are not aware of latest rule and behaviours are so rude..

That' the reason our aviation industry is lagging behind from its competitors. This is service industry, they should be taught at least basic rules of providing service.
Similar thing happened to me in Ahmedabad airport. I was going to guangzhou via singapore airlines and the lady at the immigration counter was asking unnecessary questions about my china visa. I already had a bunch of old chinese visa's during my previous stay. I also had expired schengen visa but still she wasted my time and made me uncomfortable for a good 10 minutes. This can happen in any indian airport. Depends upon luck most of the time.

True, Delhi AirPort harasses - I was flying to US via Abu Dabhi on green card and it was a transit after COVID. AI Lady refused to issue me a boarding pass for half hour saying UAE isn’t transiting passengers. I showed her their website but still after half hour I asked her for a written refusal. She got her manager who then wrote to UAE immigration who sent a mail saying I can clear and that’s when I was allowed to board. When the manager took me back to her for a boarding pass she behaved like he asked for her kidney.

@@VikasChaudhary1 yes i read but transit visa is needed for abu dhabi as few indians use it as a donkey route for going to europe. So airlines don’t allow transit via abu dhabi now unless you hold transit visa.
Dubai airport you can transit without any issues.
Even though dubai website says you can transit via abu dhabi if layover is less than 8 hours but airlines at India don’t allow u to board unleas you have transit visa due to few indians going illegaly via abu dhabi to europe and not coming back.
Someday you need to try Manglore airport. Everyone passing through this aiport is treated as criminals by the staff. Though this airport is not crowded at all.

Couple of things buddy - You and Parmveer have witness same in other countries where indian passport is treated with suspicion and the reason for this is that there are millions of indian who have illegally enter other countries. The country that i am living in has over 1 million (official record based upon local immigration) has entered from India and Philippines illegally. and you will be shocked to know that whole mafia system who is working behind the scene from india. They show dreams to indian ppl and send them illegally to EU/US. Now these ppl enter in these countries but CANNOT exist (yes you read it right - they cant exist). So in few yrs there passport expires and in their entire life they have to hide in these countries, coz if they are caught, you cant imagine what these countries does to them. I totally agree on the shame behaviors' by airport staff in Delhi, i have witness the same but i do acknowledge their Question and the reason behind it. So my friend, take it easy and show them your return ticket as it will encourage them to scan everyone thoroughly.
Buddy It’s not always like that. What they can do is check the passport to see how many visas the person has. They can also check their background. If everything looks good, they should not ask much question to that person because not everyone from India wants to settle illegally in another country, and the second thing is that the percentage of people who want to settle illegally in Oman will be very low.

I faced the same sort of intensive & quite unnecessary screening of my documents by checkin staff of Oman Air .Not just return tickets but hotel bookings of all the cities I was visiting. Possibly he was bored & wanted to spend time. As he was holding the Q a senior came & almost admonished him what's the delay for. He asked what visa did I have & did I have a return ticket. He said Swiss . Asked him to issue the boarding pass. Such useless guys are manning the checkin counters.

Same but different thing happend with my aunt on delhi to oman.
Her sister is staying on oman so she doesn't carry much money and no hotel booking so they didn't let her travel.
Airlines demand around 50k inr cash or in saving account on the spot otherwise she will not travel.
Then i tranfer the money then she allowed. Nearly 40 mintues before take off.
This is not the first time, I have faced similar problems in IGI airport.

Airline staff are always rude to their customers in India. Immigration officers may help you but don't ever expect with airline staff.

Such things are common at Delhi airport. Especially with gulf flights they have a special tantrum of 'Return' ticket everytime..dunno why.. :( Had good experience at other airports like Mumbai & Hyderabad..!!

Lot of concerns on airlines services. I have heard many instances from social media, blogs, RUclips etc. Authority must come forward to prevent it. After all passengers are customers and should be treated respectfully.If required in such cases, the executives must put on soft skills training.

While i was coming to australia last month,i was attended to by a female immigration lady (in her 20s) she asked for my return ticket.I said i havent booked yet as i am going for my partner's delivery.She was rude in her conversation and so i responded in her tone "ke govt doctor hoon,punjab governor se permission leke ja raha hoon yeh dekhle" Oh aap doctor ho i said haan stamp krdo 🙏🏻 sir dekhna hota hai, I said okey. I got furious again after watching this, victim myself. Something similar happened even I had everything with me. I was traveling to Paris when Delhi airport staff said how u r traveling internationally solo first time on ur own. They interrogated a lot saying that France border control can deport me if they think I can't navigate Europe on my own. They said that the schenghan visa is not a guarantee the airline can allow me to board. It was Qatar Airways staff btw. They asked for my employee id card instead of adhar card n voter id. I said why I would travel with my employee id when I am carrying the passport, still gave them soft copy. I did so much research on Paris, visa etc. before travelling that no traveller wud do so I threw all that info on their faces. So after 15 min they allowed me and gave boarding pass. It was my first time facing all this so it ruined my entire flight experience as I was hell scared whole time that what will happen in Paris at border control. But guess what... France border control gave me pass within a minute. The sweet staff just asked me to remove my mask to see face and put a stamp immediately... Long comment I know but consider it a vent 🙏
The name of the airport staffs should be written on their badge. You could have checked it from there.

I have worked at Delhi airport for two major Airlines, Indigo and Emirates. Staff are overworked and under-trained, be it any airlines. Because of work pressure staff does not stay at job for long times and resign. So airlines hire new employees and give them basic 4-5 days training before they're at counters to check-in. Visa and documentation is a big thing to remember for all countries as rules keep changing mostly but new staff do not know anything about this. They just know how to swipe the passport for information and check weight of the passenger luggage. Also, the managers also do not have time to check if staff have knowledge about anything because they have bigger issues to tackle. These days passengers also have very little patience and start shouting if they face any issue. (Not blaming passengers for staff's incapability but just saying). Also all airlines are required to check everything before they send passenger to immigration, if immigration suspect the passenger is not profiles by airlines and is given boarding pass, they fine the airlines around 1 lakh(not sure about money) and also the staff who has given boarding pass without asking questions is given warning letter. So everybody want to save their a** and because they are not qualified enough they're scared to give boarding pass if they have any doubt. Because there is so much crowd at IGI T3 and passengers wait so much time in queue they get frustrated when they face this king of thing.
Sorry for writing so much but the key points are:
1. Staff are undertrained and overworked.
2. Passengers have to wait too much before they reach the counters.
3. There is no solution provided to passengers for small problems.
4. People these days are have very little control over their emotions.
5. People who make rules which may hamper the passengers experience will never face the passenger and undertrained staff will just keep repeating the same things like a puppet.
6. I know all this because I was one of the puppets.
It's not only Delhi Airport, Anywhere in the Indian airport they will ask for a return air ticket. Same thing happened to me @ Patna Airport where they are asking for Dubai return ticket. Lastly I booked Return ticket and cancel after crossing the emigration in Delhi
My whole family skip the Delhi Airport becauy of their service and behaviour. I would suggest never go for the Delhi Airport unless it's the easiest for you to travel.
Yes I also faced the same problem I was going to Thailand from there I was going to Singapore but indigo staff asked me return ticket… they don’t know that their matter is from India to Thailand only…
Absolutely disgusting airport. My airline allowed carry on laptop bag but these idiots wouldn’t allow me to put extremely light weight jacket in it. I refused to take it out and guy asked ticket counter to harass me especially by calling here when my turn came. They even started checking carry on bags for co passengers.
Don’t know where they get illiterate at customer service position.
FYI, I came with same laptop bag and cabin bag from my Canada.

@yatridoctor brother I was traveling 7 countries in single trip. I talked with immigration officer for 20 minutes with some general talks. He told me recently when immigration gave power to airline staff to check passenger details. Then it's a new system updated that they need a return ticket to update in system. Agar land border hai uski ticket nhi cahiae. But jahan fly krna ferry ka system hai wahan ki onward ticket + return ticket home country must hai abhi ke liye. Baki argurment karke hi mante hai ye immigration wale
