I don't think she had all the materials to be level 90 initially, had to get more books or reports or whatever. If everyone knew what was needed to reach level 90 others would have done it.
I was a little disappointed that Alicia was training the entire time, but I was definitely impressed with how they filled that time. I honestly struggle to even call it filler. I took a lot of notice to the other characters picking up on the conspiracy surrounding Liz, and the cliffhanger of the Duke looking into it was well played. The time skip to me was unexpected, and it feels refreshing. Lack of MC considered, great episode.
This episode could’ve just focused on Alicia’s training and what “villainess” schemes she’ll do once she gets back, but instead we focus on our other cast members and see what they’re doing and how Alicia’ influences has affected them for the better. It’s practically a “Tale of the Kingdom” like episode.
I know what I said last week but she really went hyperbolic time chamber, wow. Also it was interesting to see how she’s impacted the lives around her, heck even the 2 guys who usually don’t take a side, find out they were on Alicia’s side but never did anything plus even they came to the conclusion that Liz is using magic on people whether on purpose or unintentionally. Again my guess is Liz is gonna do something out of jealousy I bet, it’s always the good people who fall far when they do something. It was nice to see the mother, ngl she may be the true villainess. She was scary. Lastly I’m gonna call it, she’s gonna be level 99, 100, or possibly broke the level cap.
I must be the only one who didn't find it boring, but I did react to that blonde guy who pushed the prince out of the room since I think HE KNOWS SOMETHING!
Honestly, I am disappointed in Albert and Alan. They hear their younger sister's name being slandered and thrown in the mud with these baseless rumors, and they don't do anything except be dogs on the leash with Liz holding the reigns.
My guess is that one of the brothers started the rumors themselves, being simps. Siblings usually grow up with you the closest and see things not even parents will ever know. So any backstabbing from them always feels more evil than from the worst enemy.
The way that they removed Alicia from this episode was pretty surprising to me. As it was not what I expected from a villainess or isekai show. But it did allow for more side characters to shrine which I liked. Especially the father who so genuinely cares about his daughter. And probably have been sleeping on the couch now after he did upset his wife. With their daughter being stuck inside a cabin until she reaches level 90. Then to seeing the village again. I really like seeing that girl and that new guy there and I can see a start of a relationship between them. The political situation of how the people in power keep pushing up problems. That needs attentions and solutions but is not too worrying for the moment. Is pretty realistically of how big issues often get side track IRL for various reason even if they could and should be solved sooner rather then later. So all in all it was the worst episode but still a pretty interesting one
this was probably the best way to adapt the time skip, they made it pretty concise and pretty much cover everything that needed to happen. i will say that in the manga version the duke was bit colder towards the "saint" and I wish they made his words a bit more harsh cause Liz deserve nothing but hurt feelings. but I'm happy with the episode.
Heroine slayer: villainess training arc 😂Ah yes she also train her riz skill... Now I want to see how that prince will react to this new cooler looks lol
Liz is probably a great example of "how to make a goody two-shoes, hyper-idealistic, simple-minded, and ditzy pollyanna into an evil character." I bet the author of this anime was having a blast thinking about that..... :) I also wouldn't be more surprised if that Liz's personality that she shown thus far is nothing more than an elaborate facade, and that her TRUE nature is even more wicked than she appears! Now, wouldn't that be a beautiful twist...?! >:)
I actually disagree about the last bit. The major theme the story seems headed for is how good intensions and kindness on their own are worth nothing (or even less) when not backed by a competent action. The "Liz evil all along" twist would severely undermine that theme, because what we can now attribute to well-meaning ineptitude would instead be caused by malicious idealism. It would be more about Liz' rotten morals than her judgement being clouded by naive hyperoptimism. Liz being surrounded by yes-men may feel like a contrived way to shield her from common sense and keep the conflict going - it's not necessarily her unwilingness to learn, but surrounding people reassuring her she doesn't need to. But amusingly enough, it has a real-life counterpart in Internet bubbles - even if someone has a well-meaning personality and is willing to improve and make their actions more effective, they may end up in a group that constantly tells them they're perfect the way they are and it's the others that are wrong. It might not be what the author had in mind, but it still fits pretty nicely. ^^
The thing I liked, that's being overlooked, is Duke starting to look into whether the heroine IS actually mind controlling people with her powers. Alicia wondered the same thing, but brushed it off. Good to see someone else had the same idea.
I love me a good "fleshing out" episode. Being an advocate of proper worldbuilding it is nice to see the rest of the cast get proper time for development. As my psychology professor would say "it's always better to get the other side's POV". Duke remains my favorite of the lads. And as weird as it sounds, I love a good hateable character. Give the Lizs, the Capellas, the Regulus, the Gerards, the Zaboeras... all proper characters that we love to hate, which also deserve it.
I really like how this episode show the others characters doing their things while our MC is training 😌 Especially, her parents part and the Loana village' potatoes farming 😁 Liz is making me salty as always 😤 Alicia' post time skip design is gorgeous!
Only a true villain can teach. I mean, force people to become self-sufficient and influence societal change in a kingdom yep the very definition of a Villain
I bet she will be lvl 100 instead of 90. Also my thoughts on Liz actually manipulating the things behind the scenes are enhanced by each episode. I dont mean unitentionally. Now even Duke suspects her.
There was a critical plot arc disclosed, apart from the character development. This was is Liz using magic to make everyone like her and of course if this is the case, why?
I'm very happy with this episode with how they adapted the source material from the manga. This adapted two chapters that were essentially infodumps with what's going on in a way that doesn't feel like a drag. The parts at the academy is handled differently in the manga with Alicia getting briefed during a carriage ride rather than a full sequence. It sets up the next arc and I can't wait to see how it'll be adapted.
I really enjoyed this episode and I really loved the ending where we get so see Alicia,I just love this anime as a whole and I think it’s my favourite this season.I also think that it’s really cool they removed focus from MC this episode because we get to focus on more characters which gave us good moments with prince duke starting to investigate the saint and the Alicia’s dad getting scolded by his wife 😂
I loved this episode. I got a lot of insight into the views of the general student body. Apparently Liz isn't the only one working the long game. Once Liz graduates, I can see what it will do to the general populace, the same thing that's happening at school, but on a larger scale. Liz could totally destroy the kingdom if left unchecked. Also, wow Alicia really matured. The character creator pulled out all the stops in creating mature Alicia.
Maybe the true villains were the protags we couldn’t stand on the way. I really did like how we got to see other peoples view on the MC this episode. One of my personal favorite things to rewatch was to see how others view our protagonist; whether it’s black clover and the mages noticihow asta never gave up despite circumstances or overlord how they think Ainz is a genius and super evil, seeing others perspectives have always been fun to watch
My theory is the man in the painting, the kings brother is uncle will. So when they open up the village he will vouch for the MC adding more integrity to her character and more fondness in the royal family so the king will be more likely to take the MCs side
But Will said he was not a noble or just a low level one. That was why he got punished. If he was royalty, I think he could get away with insulting another noble.
@@nurusds3season 1 basically ended in happily ever after. Idk how the story of season 2 will be about? SOL of newlyweds building their life and their family?
After two years, if the duke is still in love with Alicia then it's time for him to put a ring on her. If instead he's fallen for Liz's curs... *cough cough* charm. Then its time to drop the show 😅
Now i cant decide if it took her so long to train because getting from 80-90 is just that hard or if she just went "Fuck it" and leveled to 99 or 100. She did say things were "Just getting good" or whatever, so im kinda hoping she over leveled, it does kinda feel like somthing she might do to "Be a better Villainess". (And after wringing this and just now looking at the comment i guess im not alone in this feeling)
I really like when a show takes a break from its main character and give the side characters time to develop. Most shows, the MC takes up all the screen time. Not that it's bad of course.
I thought you were going to talk about how the King was using Alicia to gauge, or improve, Liz. Like Steel sharpens Steel. But this is interesting too. I haven't properly watched the show yet, but I'll keep an eye out for what you mentioned!
It might not have been the most exciting episode, but a calmer intermission once and then is nice too! Interestingly, the same concept is phrased slightly differently in Polish, where it's "better to give someone a fishing rod than a fish". I think both "giving the fishing rod" and "teaching how to fish" complement one another, in that one needs both the skill and the tools/means to ultimately sustain themselves; having just the skill or having just the tool won't suffice. Thankfully, Alicia have provided both, and now the villagers can enjoy the fruits (or rather potatoes?) of their labour! Solving the world hunger is the most villainous indeed... On that note, it's also pretty interesting how Roana has been a thorn in the generations of rulers' side, and it's been correctly pointed out that the prison village is a waste of both land and mana. At any rate, Roana more and more shapes up to be the scene of a major showdown, as opposed to a "side quest" of sorts. I wonder what will happen with it! By the way, I really like the attitude of the white-haired village girl. She correctly pointed out that, regardless of whether the Farmland Saga project was but an Alicia's whim or if she truly cares about the village, Alicia already managed to provide some long-term improvements that don't require her continued presence. In contrast, Liz might genuinely care about the villagers but still only be able to provide hollow platitudes and maybe a temporary aid. At the end of the day, it's not the matter of how kind are one's intentions, but how effective their solutions are.
After this episode I am fully behind that Liz is brainwashing everyone. I also think she is the one spreading the rumors, the only question is does the Prince know.
For me, if you have a story where the audiences viewpoint is from or around the MC’s perspective, and you suddenly switch to a side characters perspective and the audience wants to get through this bit as fast as possible and return to the MC, your story has an issue. It means the world itself cannot function or be as interesting without the MC in it, and unfortunately many Isekais fall into that trap.
Personally I think calling it the most boring episode isnt quite right. Its the weakest for sure but it was good. We gave the other characters a chance to breath and yeah, it was definitely needed if we want to actually have characters that arent just generic NPCs. Really been enjoying this show so far.
To be honest, Alicia has never been a villainess, has never done anything remotely close to being one, but in her bubble head she thinks she is. I don't think she'll change and actually become a villainess later on, but for now she should drop the act 🤷♂️
I was like Gill and Duke, did she come out yet? Impatiently waiting for her to come out. Duke revealed more hints about her secret side. Who are this group he says know more about him. And what is it that he is keeping hidden. In another world, Liz = Democrats, Alicia = Republicans... LOL >_

Even the most "boring" episodes in the series have its own merits.
Alicia is the embodiment of powerleveling.
