    THANKS! for this very useful video "do it yourself" although cutting the film wasn't included. Really appreciated seeing this done without taping around the light as other videos have. How does the film stand up to "tunnel" car washes? It is my hope I can continue to use these a couple times per week and not have to worry about the film getting messed up! thanks

      They have round edge punches you can buy from craft store and just stamp out the corners of the film to make them round. It’s cheap.

      It has never come off even with a power washer as long as you have the film tension right.

      Awesome! Thanks for the support, and glad it helped you. The squeegee just has a felt strip on it, but ideally you’d just want the flexible rubber ppf squeegee. The one I used was more for vinyl wrap.

      I wouldn’t recommend driving it in the rain for 24 hours. It doesn’t seem to like water hitting the edges at highway speed until the adhesive has cured.

    • @newfinishautospa

      3m and other brands actually have a yellowish tint when the film is new. HEXIS is the only brand I know of that is 100% optically clear.

    Good video, i purchased the same clear film but was a little confused, is it Vvivid or 3M? They are two different companies that make films
    .. Also i wasnt sure if you can wet apply this film but it looks like you were successfull

    • @newfinishautospa
      @newfinishautospa  13 дней назад

      @@colouredbills4869 hey. Thanks for watching. I recommend using metrorestyling.com to buy the ppf. Buy a gloss clear from the products they have. Buying off amazon is a gamble at best. Vvivid is a vinyl not a ppf. Buy some HEXIS bodyfence x or another brand from the website above. Hope this helps.

    I plan on doing this to my 2012 F150. I'm about to get some aftermarket headlights and I am trying to prevent UV damage to the lense. Especially with it being aftermarket, I feel like those tend to turn yellow and crack more than OEM
    I just wanted to see how hard it would be. It's pretty flat so it looks fairly simple

    I would think that the hardest part is to cut the film to size. It would be cool if you had a video of doing that without the template.

    • @newfinishautospa
      @newfinishautospa  2 года назад +4

      Consider it done. I only did that because it is the “safe” way to install. The way I normally install is by cutting the film on the paint after it has been installed. I am certified by HEXIS to install PPF so it’s nothing for me to do it that way, but a beginner would probably hesitate installing with that method.

    No UV protection ?🤔 Besides shrinking bubbling, yellowing, fogging, Not to mention how difficult it would be fitting the film on oddly shaped headlights you see around these days, There are no short cuts to having headlight clarity, That's why I follow "The headlight restoration pro" The best way is the right way!!🤔🇬🇧👌
