    I know it is probably just as easy, but you should make a video showing lowering the RTT.

      Ratchet straps work well and cinching down straps, lowering or loosening them is another story. I'm curious also as I'm in the process of DIYing a hoist system.

    Must be nice to be able to drive into your garage with a RTT on your car

    I do the same thing, used lag bolts with eyelets screwed into the roof crossbeams instead of the 2x4 over the top but same exact idea!

    Hi sir, very bulletproof system. Just one question when you go down the rtt, with the strap ratchet system, thas doesn't drop all the way , it is easy to control ???? I m sur yes if you use this system....

      Yeah it's actually not bad at all. The tent i have now is 160lbs and the one in this video is 96lbs. Even with my new tent its no issue lowering one side at a time.

    Hi, what ratchet straps did you use ie, what’s their lashing capacity?

    • @badlandsoverland3116
      @badlandsoverland3116  Год назад

      I'm actually not sure. I recently upgraded the straps to longer ones for my new tent. I know they're pretty stout and probably overkill for what i need them to do.

    Would those eye screws hold weight? What kind of eye screws did you use specifically? Thx.

      They are the heartiest ones I could find at the hardware store that weren’t . And stainless. Not sure exactly on the specs. I think around 6-8” long, 3/8-1/2in diameter, and no clue on the thread.
