The day I beat Super Mario Bros... I remember it so very vividly. My aunt and uncle (also gamers) were visiting... I screamed when I hit the axe and everyone came running... Mom and dad were like "Don't do that.. You scared the hell out of us." My aunt, who also just recently finished the game, was extremely congratulative.. Mom also then figured out what I did and was happy for me as well.
Super Mario Brothers every morning before preschool. I cant remember if I knew what I was doing but I know I loved it and it shaped my childhood. Nintendo always has a place in my home.
Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are up there as some of my favorite Mario games.Playing Mario Party and Super Mario 64 on my sister's N64 was a good memory from my childhood.
I have to work today so i miss mario day. All those game sure bring good childhood memories. When me my friends play a lot of super mario bros, 2, and 3. Even till this day I still can't beat it now.
I saw every single episode of the Super Show, Adventures of Mario 3, and Mario World cartoon multiple times. I've seen the Super Mario Bros. movie more times than I've seen the sun. I've met Charles Martinet, and after meeting him two more times he remembered who I was. I've read every single Super Mario comic (including the Valiant comics, the mangas, the Nintendo Power comics, the German comics, etc.) I own physical copies of every possible Mario soundtrack I could find (without pirating). I know practically every single obscure Mario fact possible. Mario is pretty much my life.
I'd LOVE it if you did an entire video just going through those old NPs. Just the letters pages alone would provide SOOOOOOO much material. XD I've always been wanting to expand my NP collection with NES/SNES/N64 era issues since that mag essentially WAS my childhood, but I've never gotten around to it. Also, my favorite Mario game is Super Mario RPG. DAT SOUNDTRACK.
I loved playing all the Super Mario Brothers game, and I also watched The Super Mario Brothers Super Show, Super Mario 3 and Super Mario World a lot. The Super Mario Brothers Super Show was my favorite show as a kid.
A retrospective of the old Nintendo Power magazines would be awesome. Bonus points if you manage to net a segment of the classic Super Mario Adventures comic! I think the Link to the Past one was later.
Super Mario World for the SNES was my favorite. Since the NES came out well after i was born (FYI I was born in 92) i loved playing it by moyself and with my neighbor back in the late 90's.
The first Mario memory that came to mind was when I was a kid, my first console was SNES and Super Mario World came with it of course. I had a cousin who was probably in his 20's at the time and he was really into video games and knew all the secrets and what not, he used Star Road and made it to Bowsers Castle thus beating the game. To me, that was a big deal at the time as I hadn't made it through the game yet. My mind was blown, I didn't know about Star Road and it just opened up the world of Dinosaur Island to me even further. I also remember the part where Bowser, in his flying machine, zoomed out and in the screen freaked me out. I don't know what it was, but when I was a kid, things flying out at me on the TV always freaked me out and scared me. lol Thank you Nintendo, for scarring me for life.... :P
Mario 2 is in the top 3 of favorites on my list of Mario games. I'm so old I remember playing Mario Brothers on the Atari 2600. That was the days before Nintendo had a console. The version of Mario Brothers on the 2600 wasn't that good either . Thanks to Nintendo for taking us out of the Dark ages of gaming and showing us gaming can be fun.
DUUUUUDE!!!! I lived in North Carolina temporarily last summer and stumbled across Lost Ark!! Amazing little game shop/arcade. Totally had to buy one of their shirts.
That mario brothers supershow was awesome ,specially the live action bits before and after that cartoon, the inspector gadget episode really made my day haha atleast as much as i can remember from it.
My favorite Mario game is super Mario all stars! That game had a bunch of Mario games! When I was little I didn't know I was emulating the game(a family friend had put emulators on our computer). I remember I was really little and when I got past the 1st level I was so happy !!
Probably amongst the most memorable moments was the reveal of Super Mario Bros 3. in the Wizard. And then after that, that one scene in Beethoven where all the kids were playing it. One of them even had the Power Glove and they were somehow co-oping the game. Silly Hollywood.
I've been a Mario fan since day 2. Mario Bros for the Atari was the first Mario game I ever played. When Super Mario Bros came out, it blew my mind. I was a Mario fanatic to the exclusion of most other games.
Nicolas Cage I know xD they are trying to fix it as fast as they can, people are selling pills on Facebook and DoneDeal(which is like an Irish version of ebay)
i wasnt born then but my older brothers were and they really preserved everything! My favorite is super mario 64. I know it isnt that old but i love it cause i still have it.
My favorite Mario moment was as a kid with the original Nintendo FINALLY getting the Koopa on the Stairs 1UP trick to work. My 10 year old self went nuts!
My little brother went through such a Mario phase when he was 8 that he made my mom go buy EVERY season of the cartoon. It was way before my time but the pasta jokes were top of the line.
I might be a kid, but I am a Mario FANATIC. I own tons of the mario plushes (even the koopalings), and tons of the games, old and new. I even have the Mario movie and the Tv show, both on DVD lol.
I loved the Super Mario Bros cartoon show to as well as the movie. But I use to thave the Mario wear(Super Mario Bros Cup, Plate, and Bowl.) set. And that came out in 1989 lol.
Favorite Mario Moment was seeing the big reveal in the Wizard and wegot our first look at Super Mario Brothers three waaaaay before it came out. I begged my parents for months after that for the game. Got it the following Christmas. So while the Wizard may not be the greatest movie to some it hold a special place for me.
Lol, don't worry, Andre, I was that kid too. I would read the manual on the car ride home from the store to get me excited to finally getting to play the game XD Sadly, by the time I began my gaming childhood, content-laden manuals were beginning to grow scarcer. By the time I was 12 I realized that manuals no longer would provide me with any interesting tidbits about the game, and that really made me sad.
Awesome video!! I think we grew up in the same generation because I played the original Mario too. I also had a Virtual Boy with Mario Tennis. My favorite moment was probably all the time spent playing Mario on the NES. Second best was going nuts when N64 came out and playing Mario on that. I also loved the cartoon! But I loved just about any cartoon during the 80s/90s!
I'm a die hard nintendo fan (parents only knew about Nintendo products) but playing the demo of Super Mario 64 in a store really solidified my love for all things Nintendo.
My favorite moment has to be is when I finally figured out how to get over that long jump in world 8 (I believe) on Mario's One. I don't know how many times I've thrown the controller at my television because I was unable to cross over. LOL
That story in the Mario 2 game gave me a nightmare. I dreamed that Mario and friends walked up towards that staircase and when they jumped through the door and fell down, instead of them falling it was me. Lol
I also would read through the manual before playing my games for the first time. It's helped me out many times. It also upsets me when they give you a worthless manual. Have you ever read the manual to Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town? It's six pages long and three of them are ads.
I think my favorite Mario moment was finally finding the last blue coin in Super Mario Sunshine after SEVEN YEARS of looking around for it, and getting the "alternate" ending. It's the moment that caused me the most stress, but when I found it, I was so dang happy. Close second is beating Super Mario 64 one hundred percent and meeting Yoshi at the top of the castle.
My fave Mario Games are Mario Party 2, 3, and 9, Mario Galaxy, Mario Tennis and Mario Golf especially when i played it with my younger sibiling. I used to press i the taunt button in Mario Golf to rush my sibling to putt the ball it was hilarious to me and my sibling.
I've been with Mario growing up, Sonic was alays my go to game, but there was always a spot for all things Mario and Nintendo. In terms of my FAVORITE Mario game? A little underrated.... Super Paper Mario
Definitely do a video of the magazines and have you ever done a video on everything behind you? I would like to see some close ups of all of that I checked your past videos but didn't see any.
My first video game ever was Mario Kart: Super Circuit for the Game Boy Advance, but my favorite Mario game of all time is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island!
I just Got Super Mario all Stars as a gift a couple months ago so awesome I remember playing all stars in the 90s I felt so Nostalgic that my Brother ordered a Super Nintendo and Mario All Stars for me that was so freaking awesome I love Super Mario All Stars, they don't make games like they used to.
Late, but I'd love to see you do a review of those NP Magazines. I miss magazines like that...Nowadays it's all about press and reviews, no maps or strategies or anything! Bring us back to the good times, Andre!
You're not alone when it comes to reading the manual. I was looking for some PS2 games on amazon and if it didn't come with a manual that was a major deal breaker. I remember getting a Sims 2 expansion and on the way home, barely even glancing at the disk, I went straight for the manual cx
Super Mario Bros. 3 is my favorite Mario game ever! But I also like Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario RPG, Mario Kart and Yoshi's Island.
Lets sign a petition to get a day off of school because Mario Day is a National Holiday.
Yes! And we need a parade! A Mario Day Parade!
Black Nerd Comedy what about-a-luigi?!
The funny thing is, I actually played hooky today.
Woo Spring Break... woo.
Childish Froakie It should be an international holiday. At the parade they could have all of mario's jobs there.
Mario gets a day. Zelda gets a month. I'm not even mad.
Yeah ily Chad!!
Luigi got a year, though.
Henric von Winklebottom nintendo power was released a century ago tho
Nintendo got a century.

Mario bros my all time favorite. Classic good games.
Oh I drooled a little at the condition of that Gameboy box.
Super Mario Brothers every morning before preschool. I cant remember if I knew what I was doing but I know I loved it and it shaped my childhood. Nintendo always has a place in my home.
Haven't played Mario in years but you brought back the feels... The super Mario feels lol :-)
It's always time to come back :)
Oh the nostalgia...I remember getting my NES and Super Mario Bros for Christmas many many years ago.
Re-watching this video after living in Sacramento for five years has me realize, the retro gaming shop scene in that city was pretty cool
Born in 83 and LOVED my Nintendo!! Got it for my bday. Freaking awesome present!
Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are up there as some of my favorite Mario games.Playing Mario Party and Super Mario 64 on my sister's N64 was a good memory from my childhood.

You G O T T A go through those magazines! Seeing what was thought of as "innovative design" in gaming back in the 80s' is pure comedic gold :-)
3:21 50 shades of mario audio book ft andre the black nerd
1989: "TMNT is too hard, gamers don't like it"

Super Mario World for the SNES was my favorite. Since the NES came out well after i was born (FYI I was born in 92) i loved playing it by moyself and with my neighbor back in the late 90's.
Best Mario moment? Defeating Culex in Super Mario RPG.
(I had no idea what Final Fantasy was, at the time, either)
The first Mario memory that came to mind was when I was a kid, my first console was SNES and Super Mario World came with it of course. I had a cousin who was probably in his 20's at the time and he was really into video games and knew all the secrets and what not, he used Star Road and made it to Bowsers Castle thus beating the game. I had most of those Nintendo power mags as a kid.
Of course we want to see you go through the Nintendo Power magazines!
Who's with me?
Finishing the Mario 3 game that first time is my fave memory. There wasn't any fancy game saves back then.
You need to make a show were you just read game manual stories in the Fifty Shades of Grey style.....would watch.
Look at all of dat retro goodness! Also, I would totally love to see you go through those Nintendo Power Magazines!
So awesome, that's a valuable Nintendo collection right there
Thank you. It's always fun finding retro Nintendo goodies.
Oh my god I can't breathe. That sexy reading of the manual got me lol!

Amazing little game shop/arcade.
Totally had to buy one of their shirts.
That mario brothers supershow was awesome ,specially the live action bits before and after that cartoon, the inspector gadget episode really made my day haha atleast as much as i can remember from it.
Super Mario World is my favorite Mario game, and getting the cape was one of the more awesome moments for me!
My favorite Mario game is super Mario all stars! That game had a bunch of Mario games! When I was little I didn't know I was emulating the game(a family friend had put emulators on our computer). I remember I was really little and when I got past the 1st level I was so happy !!
3:25 This exact same story was in the manual for the GBA version XD I read it when I was a kid, gotta love those old school manuals
so much old school Mario goodness! I wanna come over to your house and play games
Nintendo magazine video +1 !!! Favorite Mario game? One of my favorites is... NES Open Tournament Golf!
Probably amongst the most memorable moments was the reveal of Super Mario Bros 3. in the Wizard. And then after that, that one scene in Beethoven where all the kids were playing it. One of them even had the Power Glove and they were somehow co-oping the game. Silly Hollywood.
My favorite is paper mario 64 . My uncle gave me his Nintendo 64 , and I had paper Mario with it , and hours were spent loving it
I've been a Mario fan since day 2. Mario Bros for the Atari was the first Mario game I ever played. When Super Mario Bros came out, it blew my mind. I was a Mario fanatic to the exclusion of most other games.
It's mario day and ireland accidentally Made Magic Mushroom legal today...Coincidence?!???

Super Mario bros 3 and Mario 64 my favourite games of time🕹
Black Nerd Comedy Please show us the Nintendo Power magazines! "Now, your playing with POWER!" Lol.
My favorite Mario moment was as a kid with the original Nintendo FINALLY getting the Koopa on the Stairs 1UP trick to work. My 10 year old self went nuts!
I also saw the Super Mario Movie in theaters. I have no regrets. I still love it
My little brother went through such a Mario phase when he was 8 that he made my mom go buy EVERY season of the cartoon. It was way before my time but the pasta jokes were top of the line.
Be great to see the Nintendo power mags as we never got them here in the UK. Super Mario world is my favourite Mario game!
How do you like the Retron 5? I'm thinking of picking one up.
I remember getting the NES and we played Mario and Duck hunt to death. Awww greaat childhood flash back
I had the best memories playing the original game and the DS mario and Mario Kart 8
Squirting people with my Yoshi juice in Sunshine was probably one of the greatest Mario moments.
When Peach gives your forehead a kiss in Mario 64. Super touching to a six year old XD

Old School Mario fan here, Donkey Kong, Game & Watch, NES, SNES, Gameboy, N64, etc etc.... even I went cinema to see Mario and brought the toys :-(
My favorite was playing the castle levels with the creepy music and going against Bowser in the end and defeating him :-)
Mario and Sonic are the two top favorite games I've played.
Well sonic WAS really good *Cough cough Boom Cough cough*
Andre was nostalgia nirvana in this video. Mario in Donkey Kong at the arcade still my favorite.
My favorite Mario moment was when Ernie Hudson guest-starred on an episode of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show.
My favourite moment is finally getting flight in Super Mario Bros. 3 and that was my favourite Mario game until I played Super Mario 3D World.
Super Mario RPG Legend of Seven Stars will forever be my ultimate favorite Mario game
I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw SMB : The movie in theaters.
Man, I feel old...
I'm a die hard nintendo fan (parents only knew about Nintendo products) but playing the demo of Super Mario 64 in a store really solidified my love for all things Nintendo.

It's the moment that caused me the most stress, but when I found it, I was so dang happy. Close second is beating Super Mario 64 one hundred percent and meeting Yoshi at the top of the castle.
One of my favorite Mario moments? Definitely Bowser Jr. committing suicide at the end of NSMBU.
And yet he keeps coming back, ha ha! Koopalings > Bowser Jr. But I will give him credit for bringing the Koopalings into Smash Bros. Sweet idea!
Favorite game in the mainline platformers: either of the Galaxy games
Favorite overall: probably Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
I have been a mario fan since I was a baby. HOW DID NOT KNOW OF THIS DAY?!
That joke about his goods was pretty funny
I am so happy I found you you are so funny!! I love to laugh and you are right there with your awesome sense of humor!!
Merry Christmas to you too, Nintendo!
Mario impression was Spot On!
I grew up in the Playstation era but Nintendo was always my thing. I did own a PS2 but I was usually playing my Gameboy.
Like you, I played the NES classics as a kid, but Super Mario Galaxy 2 is still my favorite game of the series. It's pretty much perfect
Rich Knight *High fives* I'm glad someone else really loved Mario galaxy 2 as much as I did. YOSHI IN SPACE! That's a 20/10 for me.
The Nintendo Power magazines . . . I believe that's where all the original PROTIPS came from . . .
My first console was an NES but my favorite is the SNES I still have it connected to my TV lol.
I've been with Mario growing up, Sonic was alays my go to game, but there was always a spot for all things Mario and Nintendo. In terms of my FAVORITE Mario game? A little underrated.... Super Paper Mario
You should totally show off those issues of Nintendo Power! That would be so cool!
After all these years, I can still do The Mario.
Definitely interested in Nintendo Power.
Super Mario World (SNES) is my favourite. It and Street Fighter 2 were the first games I ever played
My favorite game is Galaxy but my favorite memory is coming home from school, very sick and playing SMW on my SNES until I felt better.
I love Super Mario 64! I use to play it all the time!
Late, but I'd love to see you do a review of those NP Magazines. I miss magazines like that...Nowadays it's all about press and reviews, no maps or strategies or anything! Bring us back to the good times, Andre!
Don't feel bad Andre, I also loved reading instruction booklets as well!
