    Dear teacher, Shaun. I really appreciate your valuable work. Words alone can't express my true feeling towards your great work. You are so amazing. I have had difficulty understanding this sentence for weeks."The London underground is the oldest system, having opened in 1863."
    I posted this question in many English forums, but I got no success. You are an amazing teacher. Believe me !
    Today, in your video, I got the answer to this ambiguous grammar rule. I hope someday see you and join your English classes in Canada. You are amazing, really amazing.This question have made me busy for weeks. I wanted to use this kind of grammar in my essay , but I couldn't understand how it would be possible without knowing the clear usage of it.
    Now you make me happy, really happy. Wish you and your family a happy, healthy, and long life. I really appreciate your help.

    It was Secondary 3 to 4 grammar. But I wish I had a teacher like you which would teach a grammar course like you when I was studying at university. It would be a great enhancement to my English skills. But language is not just about grammar. It also includes culture, literature, communication, linguistic, and translation, etc. Luckily, I am not an English teacher who needs to explain and produce all these items. We just studied different materials and sources with a different approach.

    Smrt English Live classes are fantastic. I teach English in Spain and I often prepare my lessons by revising the subject with you first. I have a couple of questions -
    I have always accented "participle" as "oOoo" whereas you say "Oooo" - am I wrong?
    And, is "oftentimes" Canadian for "often" or is it just your personal preference?
    By the way, I loved "White Noise" too.

    • @shaunmacleod2371
      @shaunmacleod2371 7 лет назад

      Hey Marek! It's great to hear that I can help out fellow teachers as well as students. Your pronunciation of "participle" is not wrong at all-I think accenting the second syllable is more common in the UK and the first syllable more so in North America. Oftentimes is a synonym of "often" but I'm not sure if it's more Canadian or not-why, do I say it often? Don Delillo's the best. Thanks for watching!
