The speed seems to come out of no where which has really surprised me,it takes no effort at all.Super comfy on long runs and I’m also going to favour them over the Vaporfly on my next race…Saucony have made a 100% improvement on the Pro forSure 🚀
6:00 pace for me is VO2 work :). Year 3 of running for me though 😂. Most interesting super shoe to me on 2022, this and the adios pro 3. Love all the videos Andy!
I have Melbourne Mara in 6 weeks and did a 36km long run in mine on the weekend. I loved them too! Soft, stable, plenty of pop and just a joy to run in. They really bear no resemblance to V1 and V2. I ran on gravel paths with plenty of sticks and potholes so was worried about stuff jamming in the exposed carbon on the outsole but had no issues with them. I still plan to run the marathon in Alphafly’s though atm.
Pro3 are my choice for Amsterdam Marathon…loving them, just effortlessly quick, smooth and soft. Such a big update to the 2. I plan to give them the first race out for the Big Half soon.
I tried the Alpha 2's, but they simply did not work for my low arches - big blisters. I just ordered the Pro 3's and am super excited to give it a try. I use the original Pros for speed training and Metaspeed Sky for racing currently, but I'm looking for this to become my new marathon shoes. Thanks for the good review.
I knew you will love them. Soft light and good energy return and wide 😁. Your remark on the Alphafly.. I just don't get used to them.. Strange pains (Achilles tendons.. Or side of the calf) after every run.. I think that the front (Air Pods) are so unstable that they injured me every time. I guess I am to slow for what they are made for. Endorphin Pro 3 is excellent from 10 min mile to 6 minutes.. Recovery to Tempo.. But much like the Speed 2.. My favourite shoe with the Hyperion Tempo.
Yeah I had a feeling I’d like the too, so glad I’ve got to try them out! Yes the pro 3 I think is more versatile than the alphafly… the alphafly is definitely “get up to speed and hold it”, that’s this main job… this is better at a range of paces
@@TheFODRunner I have now put the Alphafly V1 in the box for storage. When I get colder temperature (20°C) I have will use them. It is now 28°C even in the evening with 90% humidity. I’m hearing good reviews of the PRO3’s, very interested but Bought Alphafly’s v1 for £133 saving for Chester Marathon and doing long runs in my older race day pair of Alphas. Physio went well my right side is over compensating and all main muscles had contracted. Loosened off and feeling easier, doing the rehab to build up left side but back training and feels way better.
Endorphin Pro 3 is good but sadly I think I'm faster and feel better support in On Cloudmonsters. And noticeable wear on the Endorphin Pro 3 after just two practice runs. Think I will be going with the Cloudmonsters for my first half marathon.
Beautifully constructed shoe, and the most comfortable racing shoe I have. Especially with my flat feet. But I’m wondering about the outsole. Doesn’t seem great on damp pavement and if the toe off portion smooth out, might it become an issue as the speed roll puts a lot of wear in that area?
I've burned through 3 pairs of the speed 2s and 2 pairs of Triumphs over the last year. Saucony work for my feet so now they have a banger of a racing shoe I might to have a go in them myself :o If the overdraft allows that is lol
Thank you for your review. Planning to use these for a 200-mile rails-to-trails race this November. Unless I get giant rocks jammed in the sole cavity, should work well: great foam, stable for a super shoe, smooth even at low speeds, and feels very light for all that comfort ;-)
I wasn’t a fan of the alpha 2, it wasn’t really an upgrade from v1 and I felt it was too big and clunky, this is much more like the vaporfly instead, lighter and faster with great cushioning!
I have issues with the tongue moving down and inside towards the instep. The smooth sizing label on the tongue causes it not to grip the socks on that side. Also, if you want next % version 1 you can still get them from Nike outlet stores. I picked up a pair a couple of weeks ago and they had loads of pairs.
Oh wow, I might have to take a visit to my local Nike outlet!! Sorry to hear about the tongue slippage, i was told by a couple of people they had this issue
Sounds great. I need a shoe a bit more stable (could not run at all with Alphafly) and a little more drop due to fragile ankle and achille. This is a 8mm drop is there anything else ? Maybe ASICS?
Saucony Pro3 my choice for NYC Marathon in November...... as fast as the Nike AFN%2, more comfortable and as/more stable when the old pins lose form when the hurt is on, it's just a lot less intrusive on foot than the Nike....the only question was if it is a VERY wet day, the traction is not as good and man does it squelch when it gets wet! Completely different feel/ride than the speeds and the Pro2's......They've knocked it out the park!
Stop it you lot 🙄 Stop praising this shoe 😂 I am now less than 5 weeks out from Warsaw Marathon and still considering buying a second pair of Pro 3 in the Night Lite version to get a few miles in them prior to racing. Current Hot Pink pair have already hit the 200 mile mark in training and will likely have 300+ in them come race week (so I can't really wear and expect top performance out of them come race day). Do I stick to the original plan and just wear the Sky+ (which I would have to wear if it was wet anyway), or do I order another pair of the Pro 3? Decisions, decisions are driving me nuts 🤔 Still feel like the Sky+ is the quicker shoe that will work better for me on race day if everything clicks, but that it's less supportive and likely to lead to calf issues over the later miles (if I am struggling during the back end of a Marathon then maybe added comfort from Pro 3 is the safer option if it stays dry)? Also going to need another training shoe soon (and love the look of the Pro 3 Night Lite version which I think they are trying to hold the drop on until autumn but already available from one place). Know that I will probably want to try out the NB SC Elite when that drops to see how it compares to the RC Elite v2 too.
@@MarkSmith_Best-Athletics that's the way I feel about the Nike AFN%2....feel is slightly faster, but in the end, I think the Pro3 will be the safer bet for comfort and will punish less when the form goes towards the end,,,,,and in the GMP sessions, I've been hitting similar times, so the faster part is probably more psychological than reality.... Great review!! Pro 3 must be an amazing long run trainer, kind of Iam using NB RC Elite 2. I would like to know which one is the most responsive. For race day I wouldnt give away Alphaflys
For me the Pro 3 and RC Elite V2 are the best option for long runs. They are quite similar.. Not shoes for PB. For that Alphafly V1 or Vaporfly.. I hate Nike for this 😁
@@ricardoreis3844 Yes I have Metaspeed Sky+ and the Sky (First Version which I currently have Marathon and Half Marathon PB's in). The Sky+ feels like it would be better at the back end of a Marathon than the Sky. Both versions of the Sky, especially the Sky+ feel quicker to me than the Pro 3 but require better running form to keep at quicker paces maybe, hence my comments about Pro 3 perhaps being a safer option to run in when my form might go over closing miles of a Marathon. To me the Sky+ has a better upper than the Pro 3. The Pro 3 definitely holds on to water around it's heel collar and around the sides of the tongue if you get it wet, as I did during a 20.5 mile training run recently - where I sandwiched a local Half Marathon ran at aim MP in the middle - getting my feet soaked running through a couple of hosepipe showers and tipping a few cups of water over the back of my neck. I know that I would 100% favour the Sky+ over the Pro 3 in any race if it were wet. In a Marathon if my feet couod be kept dry then it maybe a closer run thing. With regards speed then the Sky+ definitely has the edge for me.
I struggle to buy racing shoes as I need a UK14 or 14.5 & the only ones I can buy is Nike & Saucony. Not a fan of Nike shoes, just didn't work for me but do love the Saucony Endorphin Speed & Pro. Interesting to see how they plan out in my upcoming HM's & decide whether to go for SE Pro3 or Adidas for Rome marathon.
Just FYI on the next% 2 the Zoom X is different according to colorway. I know that sounds odd, but I have felt them in the store and some colors have softer foam and others firmer. It’s strange but true.
I agree, I have 2 pairs of V2 and not only the foams feel different but performance-wise they're different. The consistency is not there unfortunately or maybe its a commercial decision to use cheaper/ lower quality Peba foams
Hi Andy. I would love to give these a go BUT, I bought the previous version and the absolutely kill my calf muscles. Quite likely it's the 8mm drop. I'm using the Puma Velociy Nitro 2 now with the 10mm drop just got another pair for London.
I have the V2. I usually been getting them when the new version comes out so they are half price. I really want these and might break the trend of penny pinching after this reveiw.
What is better in this V3 vs V1 and V2? . Just seeing you singing its praises (reminds me of you praising the Novablast 1) already made me want to buy a pair at retail price ; Saucony rarely has discounts in my country.
It really feels like a totally new shoe compared to the v1 + 2 I think. They are softer, more responsive, more stable, better grip, still with the same speed roll feel (but now better!). I also think now the gap between the Speed and the Pro is much more obvious and the pro3 is now right up there with the best racing shoes.
If I could get a pair overnight or two days for Santa Rosa, I would. Alas I'll wait until CIM December. Until then Zoom Fly it is (for the stability in the later miles).
@@TheFODRunner awesome, I love the v1 and the reviews for v3 are stellar. Gonna have to head down a store to try it out soon. Thanks so much, keep up the good work! 👍🏻

I used the Alphaflys V1 for a 10mile race at the weekend. And while they performed well my legs were completely beat up afterwards and for a few days after. Was going to use them for upcoming Dublin Marathon but not so sure anymore now. Maybe the Pro 3 are more forgiving? Was also considering the Adidas Pro 3.
I'm surprised to hear that your legs were beat up after running in the Alphafly, personally I found them to be a miracle shoe, I did all my marathon training in them, ran the marathon and then 2 days after running a marathon I ran a half marathon and all this was possible thanks to the Alphafly looking after my legs beautifully 👌🏻 I'm yet to try the Pro 3 but seeing lots of good reviews about them so no doubt I'll end up getting them 😁

Great video, Andy. I didn't know that Asics doesn't make racing shoes in your size. Crazy! Bummer too because the Metaspeed Sky/Edge are super fun to run in. Have you ever thought about trying a half-size down to see if they'll work out for you? I think most vendors have a good enough return policy that if you take them for a spin and they're just too small/tight you can send them back. Just a thought.
I do mate, love v1! These pro 3 have that same squish as the v1…. It’s the closest I’ve found… gonna race in them soon and find out! Alpha v1 for London though regardless 💪
Hi Andy ...what i really disliked in the v1 was the steefness of the plate. my feet didn't work enough in these shoes...is v3 more like the RC Elite V2 or the Alphafly interms of softness and bounciness? If I could get a pair overnight or two days for Santa Rosa, I would. Alas I'll wait until CIM December. Until then Zoom Fly it is (for the stability in the later miles).
Best of luck for your race in 2 days time!!
Hi! Would you recommend these as an upgrade? I currently have an endorphin pro 1!
Oh yes, for me these are better than the v1!
@@TheFODRunner awesome, I love the v1 and the reviews for v3 are stellar. Gonna have to head down a store to try it out soon. Thanks so much, keep up the good work! 👍🏻
this is one of the few times, that i regret to do almost no racing......but i still might buy a pair some time next year just for the fun of it.....one of the very few 2022 releases, i might buy ( besides the novoblast 3, fuji lite 3, ride 15 and the adios 7 wide)
Don’t worry about racing in them, just training in them is a joy!
@@TheFODRunner oh boy, those shoes are really intriguing
I used the Alphaflys V1 for a 10mile race at the weekend. And while they performed well my legs were completely beat up afterwards and for a few days after. Was going to use them for upcoming Dublin Marathon but not so sure anymore now. Maybe the Pro 3 are more forgiving? Was also considering the Adidas Pro 3.
I'm surprised to hear that your legs were beat up after running in the Alphafly, personally I found them to be a miracle shoe, I did all my marathon training in them, ran the marathon and then 2 days after running a marathon I ran a half marathon and all this was possible thanks to the Alphafly looking after my legs beautifully 👌🏻 I'm yet to try the Pro 3 but seeing lots of good reviews about them so no doubt I'll end up getting them 😁
@@paulmulks Well I’ve just gone and ordered the Endorphin Pro 3 so we’ll see how they perform!
@@eoincasey5461 Looking at the majority or the reviews you've got a good shoe coming 👌🏻 I'm in the market for the new Saucony endorphin edge so once I've got them then the Pro 3's will be next, the wife is already going mad 🤣 I hope they work for you, if ya get chance come back to this post amd let me know how you find them 👍🏻
@@paulmulks The trick to keeping the wife happy is always order something for her at the same time you order something for yourself, that way she can’t complain about you getting something. 😜
@@eoincasey5461 That is very true ha-ha I might do what she does and buy them, then when she realises I'll deny all knowledge and claim I've had them for ages 🤣
Yeah sad isn’t it! Sadly they only do size 12, not even a 12.5 otherwise I’d probably try… I can’t go a full size down sadly!
@@TheFODRunner right, a full size down is too much. Bummer.
This is my shoe for London 💪🏾
Fantastic!
5k up to HM..... Vaporfly V1 (which I know you love) or these? Or Alphafly V1? What's your favourite?!
I do mate, love v1! These pro 3 have that same squish as the v1…. It’s the closest I’ve found… gonna race in them soon and find out! Alpha v1 for London though regardless 💪
@@TheFODRunner might have to buy myself a pair soon to see! Still got a pair of unopened Alphafly V1 and Vaporfly V2 mind 😂
Andy...Did you have any issues with the heel collar rubbing your Achilles?
Not at all buddy 👌
@@TheFODRunner excellent....decision made...tnx Andy
I have the Endorphin Pro 3 and love them, but I have had problems with them rubbing my achilles and giving me blisters
@@andrewwhite1972 wear higher socks
Hi Andy ...what i really disliked in the v1 was the steefness of the plate. my feet didn't work enough in these shoes...is v3 more like the RC Elite V2 or the Alphafly interms of softness and bounciness? I just bought another pair of AF v1 (woman version lol ) for 149€ ..fit exactly the same as man version in the same size (last purple colorway 😍) 👏👏👏😁🇫🇷
Yes much softer than v1, it’s very similar feeling to vaporfly v1/alphafly v1 foam, much bouncier!
So r u considering to wear it on London marathon?
I’ll stick to the alphafly for London but I’ll use these in my next race to test them out!
Loved it and I guess I need to buy it.
It’s a fantastic shoe 💪
My pink color is shift off after 40 km
It’s a lot of money, and I am enjoying the speed 2 and pro 2. But there is a high chance that the pro3 will arrive. Just tried it on, in the running store. Should not have done that ;)
Haha if you try it on and love it, you’ll buy it 😉
Really good run-down!
I'm thinking about getting this also. My speed 2s are going strong so not sure I need though 🤔
Enjoy the alphafly 2 but worry about wearing it out too quick so maybe get the pro 3.
Also really interested in the new balance elite 3 but not sure how long the wait will be.
Too many good shoes😢
Way too many good shoes, it makes the choice very tough!!
How many miles/kms do you think you can get out of the Pros before they start to lose their effect?
No idea, I need to put more miles in these, I wouldn’t like to guess either!
Is it better (faster) than vaporfly 2?
Let me race in them and I’ll let you know!
So…you don’t like them much! 😂
On the fence to be honest 🤔😉
Looks to be a super trainer then Andy 👌😀Did you manage to get entered for this Sunday on the Bridge 🌉?!
I did!
