And listened to these Bible narrations and worship songs while I did my daily chores... I ended up physically weak but I became resistant to temptations, and intrusive, dark thoughts. These still haunt me but I've never given in since then, haven't let dark thoughts simmer in my head longer than it used to. It is a wonderful feeling beeing able to say "No!" to temptation -- it helped me become dead set on aligning my priorities with what a Christian should be and no longer focus on my worldly pursuits. I'm going to try a seven day prayer and fasting next year. I suggest you give it a try and ask people to pray for you before/while you do so because the enemy will likely try his best to spoil it (I got a severe gout flare-up the day before my intended fast so I had to postpone it as I need to eat to take gout medication. I didn't finish my medication and proceeded with my fast the following week and grit my teeth through the pain and hunger and it was all worth it!)
