I'm still on the ropes if to reinstall the game. My only gripe was difficulty and I was hyped when they FINALLY announced world 9 and then they immidiateky underminded it that saying it won't be challenging... New characters look kinda bland too. Except for the archon which is not surprising.
yep and there is also a chance of it starting with only 3 lines or these crit values start with like 2,7% crit rate etc - in my opinion these items should be given out far more (if it is once or twice per patch... that will be awful)
@@N4thF4 It's not insane at all though, due to only being able to change 2 sub stats, RNG and the limited availability of it. The real only good thing about it, is being able to choose the right "Main Stat", as u can normally get good rolls on a artifact, but a lot of times, you can't use it for that character, because the main stat is wrong. Even if you could change all 4 sub stats, it still wouldn't be OP, because you have a higher chance, of still receiving a bad/average sub stats at lvl 20, rather than good stats. It's still a welcoming new feature of course, but it's for sure not insane.
Finally, going to the right direction. I mean, it's about time they improve their game. With Wuthering Waves in the market, as well as more upcoming open world gacha games such as Neverness to Everness, Azur Promilia, Project Mugen(no idea when it will be released), Arknights Enfield, etc., it is bound to happen that there are dissatisfied Genshin players that will try those games, and will love them as well. If those games meet some of their expectations, they will probably switch. So this direction that Genshin is taking a very good path to take. All I can say is "Thanks, Genshin devs!". Now, WuWa will have no choice but to improve their game more. As a player of both games, it's a win-win for the Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves players. Let's goooo. I love competition in a gacha game. Also, free Kachina. She's so cute.
They've always been improving their game, they have just been very slow about it. If you compare 1.0 to 4.8 there is a massive difference. But that's not to say that the 5.0 update is amazing. I don't think they've ever done so much good changes in one update before

If you notice in the video, if it stays the way it is, you'll need four elixirs to make a relic with substats. They said you can get three in the game in 5.0 but the fourth will be on the paid battle pass. Seems pretty expensive.
It does seem to be that way. And in the video they clearly showed that there will be a limit on the number of elixirs you can create by sacrificing upgraded artifacts per "cycle", with each cycle being at least 19 days 11:25 I've seen a lot of excitement over this new gadget but I don't think people realize how LITTLE impact this is going to have on your artifact farming routine. Double crit artifacts alway look nice at +0, remember that
I feel like they're worth saving for when you really need them, being able to get the main/sub stats you need doesn't save you from bad rolls but they're definitely not useless
I mean, it's pretty obvious that they won't just give you an item that can basically remove the artifact system. I guess you really just want to do it once you are exactly one artifact missing and you want it to be from a very specific set.
Would be extremely scummy if they give out only 3 per patch and you need to buy BP to craft ONE artifact that can still become trash - can't wait for the swarm of players that show how they went from double crit to "it all rolled into def/hp" etc
The only thing I care about is Kachina. She has the same english VA as Aeval (the BEST melusine!) So she is a must pull for me. Being a 4 star is a bit sus, since there's no way to guarentee a specific 4 star when wishing... Getting her to C6 might be tricky.

Based on what I’ve seen in Chinese communities, it seems like there’s an extra 10% chance that the 5-star characters will be limited, making the rate 55%. Basically, out of 100 people who pull, 10 people (10%) get this new guaranteed thing, and the rest stick with the original rate-45 miss and 45 get limited-so 55 out of 100 end up with the limited. I’m guessing this aligns with HSR’s standard since it’s around 57% there.

Regarding Elixir, if we assume that they will be given as Event Rewards like Crowns and the production limit is around 4-5 per Cycle, then an F2P should be able to accumulate enough for around 3-4 Custom Artifacts per Patch, which is more or less the same as in HSR (It's too early to say the average in ZZZ). This will help a lot for those who are looking for a specific piece or have monstrous bad luck when farming, especially with you being able to choose 2 Sub-Stats.

Oh my goodness I was one of them that suggested the regional specialty tracker, I was saying it's ridiculous how we have that but we aren't even able to use it to track the materials. The only change I don't understand is giving 10 pulls to returnees, because if you time your 2 weeks of absence right with this new change, you're literally rewarded more for NOT playing the game, than you would be if you played every day for those 2 weeks. It seems so counterintuitive, like why are they making me feel bad for playing their game? Why do I feel like I'm missing out by playing, instead of dropping it for 2 weeks? I don't get it. Edit: A little clarification! Just like I thought, there had to be more to this change than it first seemed like, and I finally found it. I think they really could've made it more clear in the livestream or the summary that this isn't an updated version of Stellar Reunion, but rather it seems to be an additional thing on top of the already existing Stellar Reunion, and has different requirements from it. Stellar Reunion requires AR 10 and 14 consecutive days of not logging in (and 45 days since last triggering it), and this additional thing they mentioned requires AR30 and **45** consecutive days of not logging in, so that makes much more sense now. It _is_ more rewarding to just play the game, as it should be. Glad to clear that up!
You get the rewards after 2 weeks only for the first time you were absent. To get the rewards again you would need to stop playing for around 40 days (not sure if I remember the number correctly but it's something around 40)
I'm just so happy with the devs revamping the weapon banner fate point system. I usually pull for my dps's sigweap and it hurts when I have to spend 270 wishes on the weapon alone. Also, loved the artifact optimizations. No more grinding for a cr/cd main stat circlet with cd/cr substat lol.
10:30 From nerfed Mora rewards to no Mora. Those Weekly Reputation quests were my only source of Mora income due to my entire Map being 100%-ed. Now I have to rely on those Leylines 100% of the time.
With the amount of investment some F2P players has in their accounts, i feel like that 10 additional levels to the world bosses will just make them take 5 extra seconds to defeat ☠
Something you forgot about the selector : they said that the roster will increase every year. So either some of the 5.x characters will be added to it, or older characters will instead !!!
well u can also see that it can be used limited times in a cycle. i am assuming 2-3 times per cycle, which lasts for a month . so yeahhhh.... but hey its something
@@shlokpandre1078 It's actually better than, let's say HSR. In HSR you can only pick the mainstat. In Genshin, you can pick the mainstat AND two substats, but we'll have to see how long the cycle is. In HSR, you can get 2-3 self modeling resins per patch

Normally each nations unique artifacts are added after the next nation comes out - so in my opinion Fontaine's should've already been out since this is the last update of Fontaine.
tbh, I never expected natlan to be... how it is right now, Idk the word for it, fun and vibrant? I was expecting a more volcano manor/Mt. Gelmir from elden ring or death mountain from OoT vibe.
this is the only sensible comment I have seen by far on this video, everyone is hyping the free STANDARD 5* like crazy, I get it that it is really good for new players but what about us? If they did this 2-3 years ago it would have been a huge W but now after almost 4 Years I don't really get what's the point of giving standard banner character, I already have all of them 😂
I sadly dont have any incentive of catching up (the adventurer rank grind was just too long at the time). I am happy for the existing players and possible newcomers. But i am slightly saddened that i still have to grind so many hours for the adventurer rank just to play the story further. This is not meant as a dump at genshin but as a comparison on my own experience: The first time i played WuWa i noticed how easy collecting things are (you get a sensor that pings every chest on your map around you) and movement being so free...and most importantly no stamina worries or Union rank grind that would atop you from enjoying and progressing quests and story. At one point the game forced me to grind union levels, thing is i did one or 2 exploration quests and then i was enough leveled up to finish the story. The most important factor allowing me to play at my own pace was the skip button, which genshin doesnt have. And full honesty i dont care about genshins story at all. There are so many books and games our there if i want to read or play a story. So this is a bit long of a comment but i want to remind people that i wish the current genshin players fun and this update looks incredible. I just wish i could experience it too without getting bored on the way to the new region.
We've had sensors that shows you where a chest is in genshin since 1.1. Wuwa has skip button, but when I played during launch it was only on those small unvoiced parts. The main quest that you had to progress through was unskippable so I just spammed though it. I don't know if that has changed in 1.2 or nah.

Great update, but I won’t be increasing my world level. Not worth trading shorter fights for a bare increase in boss materials. It would be worth it if we could increase our characters to level 100.
What?? WuWa didn't even register as competition to HoYo, but you can keep dreaming. Also, learn a few things about game development first, you will realize how stupid you sound. These things have been in the works for many months, if not close to a year.
One more that doesn't have a clue about game developing. These things have been in the works long before WuWa was even out. Also, WuWa can't even be considered a competition to Genshin. It's best month which was its release with banners with new characters barely put it above Genshin's second-third rerun characters, and it is a game in its 4th year. And WuWa is already buried deep underground by ZZZ, HoYo just doesn't care.
I'm hoping enviosity would return to cover this as well. I miss his content despite the drama going on. I'm sure he will be super excited about these changes genshin finally made.

I was really hoping that the free 5 star would be something interesting, I mean, if you've plated Genshin for a while, none of those standard banner chars are really that interesting anymore, or you already have them (i have gotten Jean EVERY freaking time i lost my 50/50) I would rather have a new free 4 star from Natlan region.

Nah sorry but the ship has long sailed for me. I'm not going to praise Genshin after they've been ignoring people for 4 years just because they FINALLY start to make some decent changes because they now have competition. No, sorry. Their competition has been more gracious and customer friendly from the start, and i have too much build up disappointment to care at this point. Also, how nice of them to finally give us a free standard selector. Would've been amazing 2 years ago when these characters were at least somewhat useful but now, NOW they're graciously granting us a choice when not only they aren't as useful anymore, and most players already either have most, if not all of them.

I bet you it’s super rare and will still take a super long time to get the ideal artifact piece you want. 3. free 5*. Standard banner characters are mid (viable at best), but they’re generally outdated. Genshin giving players free outdated character is like receiving leftovers. Would be nice at least if Genshin added already a new 5* Standard character. But no, they’re giving us leftovers. fyi, HSR & WuWa give free LIMITED (NOT Standard) 5* characters that are actually high-tier characters. If you notice in the video, if it stays the way it is, you'll need four elixirs to make a relic with substats. They said you can get three in the game in 5.0 but the fourth will be on the paid battle pass. Seems pretty expensive.
It does seem to be that way. And in the video they clearly showed that there will be a limit on the number of elixirs you can create by sacrificing upgraded artifacts per "cycle", with each cycle being at least 19 days 11:25
I've seen a lot of excitement over this new gadget but I don't think people realize how LITTLE impact this is going to have on your artifact farming routine. Double crit artifacts alway look nice at +0, remember that

I feel like they're worth saving for when you really need them, being able to get the main/sub stats you need doesn't save you from bad rolls but they're definitely not useless
I mean, it's pretty obvious that they won't just give you an item that can basically remove the artifact system. I guess you really just want to do it once you are exactly one artifact missing and you want it to be from a very specific set.
Would be extremely scummy if they give out only 3 per patch and you need to buy BP to craft ONE artifact that can still become trash - can't wait for the swarm of players that show how they went from double crit to "it all rolled into def/hp" etc
The only thing I care about is Kachina. She has the same english VA as Aeval (the BEST melusine!) So she is a must pull for me. Being a 4 star is a bit sus, since there's no way to guarentee a specific 4 star when wishing... Getting her to C6 might be tricky.

Based on what I’ve seen in Chinese communities, it seems like there’s an extra 10% chance that the 5-star characters will be limited, making the rate 55%. Basically, out of 100 people who pull, 10 people (10%) get this new guaranteed thing, and the rest stick with the original rate-45 miss and 45 get limited-so 55 out of 100 end up with the limited. I’m guessing this aligns with HSR’s standard since it’s around 57% there.

Regarding Elixir, if we assume that they will be given as Event Rewards like Crowns and the production limit is around 4-5 per Cycle, then an F2P should be able to accumulate enough for around 3-4 Custom Artifacts per Patch, which is more or less the same as in HSR (It's too early to say the average in ZZZ).
This will help a lot for those who are looking for a specific piece or have monstrous bad luck when farming, especially with you being able to choose 2 Sub-Stats.

The only change I don't understand is giving 10 pulls to returnees, because if you time your 2 weeks of absence right with this new change, you're literally rewarded more for NOT playing the game, than you would be if you played every day for those 2 weeks. It seems so counterintuitive, like why are they making me feel bad for playing their game? Why do I feel like I'm missing out by playing, instead of dropping it for 2 weeks? I don't get it.
Edit: A little clarification! Just like I thought, there had to be more to this change than it first seemed like, and I finally found it. I think they really could've made it more clear in the livestream or the summary that this isn't an updated version of Stellar Reunion, but rather it seems to be an additional thing on top of the already existing Stellar Reunion, and has different requirements from it. Stellar Reunion requires AR 10 and 14 consecutive days of not logging in (and 45 days since last triggering it), and this additional thing they mentioned requires AR30 and **45** consecutive days of not logging in, so that makes much more sense now. It _is_ more rewarding to just play the game, as it should be. Glad to clear that up!
You get the rewards after 2 weeks only for the first time you were absent. To get the rewards again you would need to stop playing for around 40 days (not sure if I remember the number correctly but it's something around 40)
Yeah that maybe true but theres a big cooldown for the stellar reunion and the in game rewards like events dailies etc are far greater!

I'm just so happy with the devs revamping the weapon banner fate point system. I usually pull for my dps's sigweap and it hurts when I have to spend 270 wishes on the weapon alone. Also, loved the artifact optimizations. No more grinding for a cr/cd main stat circlet with cd/cr substat lol.

@@shlokpandre1078 It's actually better than, let's say HSR. In HSR you can only pick the mainstat. In Genshin, you can pick the mainstat AND two substats, but we'll have to see how long the cycle is. In HSR, you can get 2-3 self modeling resins per patch

Hooooooly moly, now that is what I call a QoL improvements. So many good things. I cannot wait to sink my teeth into this.
I sadly dont have any incentive of catching up (the adventurer rank grind was just too long at the time). I am happy for the existing players and possible newcomers. But i am slightly saddened that i still have to grind so many hours for the adventurer rank just to play the story further.
This is not meant as a dump at genshin but as a comparison on my own experience:
The first time i played WuWa i noticed how easy collecting things are (you get a sensor that pings every chest on your map around you) and movement being so free...and most importantly no stamina worries or Union rank grind that would atop you from enjoying and progressing quests and story. At one point the game forced me to grind union levels, thing is i did one or 2 exploration quests and then i was enough leveled up to finish the story. The most important factor allowing me to play at my own pace was the skip button, which genshin doesnt have. And full honesty i dont care about genshins story at all. There are so many books and games our there if i want to read or play a story.
So this is a bit long of a comment but i want to remind people that i wish the current genshin players fun and this update looks incredible. I just wish i could experience it too without getting bored on the way to the new region.

We've had sensors that shows you where a chest is in genshin since 1.1. Wuwa has skip button, but when I played during launch it was only on those small unvoiced parts. The main quest that you had to progress through was unskippable so I just spammed though it. I don't know if that has changed in 1.2 or nah.

Great update, but I won’t be increasing my world level. Not worth trading shorter fights for a bare increase in boss materials. It would be worth it if we could increase our characters to level 100.

I'm not going to praise Genshin after they've been ignoring people for 4 years just because they FINALLY start to make some decent changes because they now have competition. No, sorry. Their competition has been more gracious and customer friendly from the start, and i have too much build up disappointment to care at this point. Also, how nice of them to finally give us a free standard selector. Would've been amazing 2 years ago when these characters were at least somewhat useful but now, NOW they're graciously granting us a choice when not only they aren't as useful anymore, and most players already either have most, if not all of them.

1. capturing brilliance is just 5% wishing boost. basically we don’t have 50/50, but 55/45. That’s something, yes. But it really isn’t much.
2. sanctifying elixir. How often will they allow players to get 4 of these? You need 4 elixirs to craft one good artifact. I bet you it’s super rare and will still take a super long time to get the ideal artifact piece you want.
3. free 5*. Standard banner characters are mid (viable at best), but they’re generally outdated. Genshin giving players free outdated character is like receiving leftovers. Would be nice at least if Genshin added already a new 5* Standard character. But no, they’re giving us leftovers. fyi, HSR & WuWa give free LIMITED (NOT Standard) 5* characters that are actually high-tier characters. This genshin 5* selector thing should have happened already back in 1.x or 2.x updates. Not in 5.0
4. Weapon 5* fate reduced to 1. bruh, we should have had this since the beginning. Genshin devs bamboozled us for 3 past years with having to lose 2x before we get our guaranteed. Them reducing fate point to 1 should have been bare minimum YEARS ago. WuWa has no 5* weapon 50/50, and HSR has 75/25 or 70/30. How is Genshin better?
