You guys are totally forgetting the fact that this is what came first. This was what cheerleading started out as. Don't say they aren't cheerleaders because this was the original way of cheerleading.
actually you're wrong this isn't cheerleader... and as a former cheerleader, everyone knows this sport started off for guys to cheer their squads (bush was a male cheerleader) but then as the sport grew became more of a girl sport, now days is pretty coed. and 80% of this girls were dancers/songleaders
Exactly. I would think a lower, more precise kick would be harder bc you need significant leg strength and more control to stop the kick at a certain point. The high kicks are a bit flashier but they get so high mostly from the sheer inertia and energy follow through. The higher the kick the less precision. Still great to watch, though.
I remember a game back at old Texas Stadium. I was sitting in the end zone and the Cowboys were about to kick off towards the end zone where I was sitting. And right before the kick-off, with the special teams on the field, the DCC were in the end-zone doing this mesmerizing sway dance that was... intimidating. Hard to describe, but the way they were dancing with the music, it was like they were saying, "We're the Cowboys are we're about to whoop ya."
Ram Buckner I noticed that too!! Her kicks were low and tight. I’m surprised they even let her on the team. They’re constantly saying how the high kick is a must do and it has to be perfect with very high kicks and to be able to do the split all the way down to the ground. That didn’t look like it to me

@Nutbustin1 yes they have the most difficult qualifying standards as compared w/ the other cheerleading teams, many of the best ,most talented,experienced, & beautiful ,automatically try-out for the DCC squad 1st..for some its their only option!

these are more of a dance team wouldnt you say then cheerleading? Like it's not even the same as a college level. i mean in college or university atleast they tumble and stunt and dance, this is just dancing isn't it? is that what proffesional cheerleading is? does it end after college?

no offence but this isn't cheerleading.. if it was then wheres the stunts? tumbling? motions? jumps? but it was a GREAT dance believe me i am a cheerleader now and i used to be a dancer there kicks were amazing :)
Last two time I went to a Dallas Cowboys game, those cheerleaders just made it impossible to watch the game. They were such a distraction. :-) The worst is my wife almost broke my ribs with her elbow because of those cheerleaders.
What it means cheerleaders ? Cheer, entertain people, that's what makes them, in fact better than cheerleaders college, DCC are sexy, thats waht poeple like, not girls clapping and jumping.

My dance team incoporates a lot of this same stuff into our dance. We do fan kicks, high kicks, splits, and the ripple bow too.
I think the Rockettes kick line is better. Yeah, their kicks are lower, but they're so syncronised and effortless compared to DCC's.
