Well done. For anyone who struggles to run for any length of time, don’t underestimate how effective power walking is. A 2 mile slow run will take 20-30 minutes and is literally 20-30 minutes exercise. A 6 mile power walk will take 90-100 minutes is overall a higher calorie/fat burn than the run and will improve your fitness until you are able to run. There’s less chance of strain injury too. I do mean power walk, not stroll with the dog! 16 minutes per mile (4mph) is a good goal. Time on your feet is the important bit.
Bloody well done, that's given you the boost you probably needed, keep going Jon, I've lost 4 stone and kept it off through lockdown as well, financially it's cost me a new wardrobe, the only thing left that fits me are socks !!
So proud of you Jon from the US!!!!! Keep it up. It can only get easier from here. You live in a nice neighborhood with a open walkway, and beautiful scenery. Do it for life my friend! Watching you has given me the motivation to start riding my bicycle again, and start a regular exercise routine! Thanks Jon! Here's to good health, and a happy life!👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I used to be a County runner doing sprints and relays. Was never good long distance and played rugby to a reasonable level, so large framed 6'4" and now 53 and around 20 stone. You are an inspiration.... Keep it up.
Top man Jon! Fair play to you and keep it up...the worst is done. Now Spring is in the air and it makes it alot easier to get out there. As someone else said, it takes balls to put this video up. Proud to know you! best regards from Helsinki.
Well done fella, I started that last year, run several times a week now 10-20k. Keep it up & dont worry about pace, your getting out there doing it which is what matters
Well done mate alot of people will opt for the easy road excersise is never easy but your doing it not only are you brilliant at reviewing car stuff and giving advice but inspiring others to follow you on the path of fitness well done mate keep going 👍😁
Awsome, always remember the positives and how you feel and use that as your motivation and don't worry about anyone else as you are only competing against yourself 👍
Excellent!! Well done Jon. I wouldn't worry about how fast you do it, you got round and you couldn't have done that 3 weeks ago!! Think about going faster when 5k is the norm!
The only competition is with yourself. Doesn’t matter what time or speed just completing it is the first goal and doing a 20 min run outside is a massive milestone. Don’t underestimate how far you’ve come. 👍 keep it up.
Well done John. I had PTSD and within a year I'd thrown on 5 stone. I fully understand how much it takes to dig deep, to find it in yourself to continue on when every fiber of your body says stop. The only way is up. Good luck fella
Well done and thank you for sharing. Subscribed ages ago for the detailing but with the last year’s lockdowns taking it’s toll on most of our fitness, watching your progress is hugely motivational and I’ll definitely be following in your footsteps with tackling the couch to 5k challenge.
potatoe cam. Go pro 8. very good little camera actually for all this you tube stuff. It was not even on full hyper stabalisation but my 1 pack was helping to secure it in place ;)
Good going mate, been out power walking 6-7 miles a day for the last few weeks, dropped calories down to 1900 and weight is dropping off, a month ago I was near 16st. my coat felt like a straight jacket and is now loose, still want to drop another 2st. To get to about 13... Keep it going and you will get there
gave up on running and got into cycling. granted running is better for overall body fitness, but hard on the knees and feet. I now do club rides and hit the hills. still walk the treadmill in the home. keep it up. wishing you the best on your journey.
Good on you Jon. Trust me you will have more energy the fitter you get. I lost my dad and my friend due to heart attacks. Just think of your daughter mate who wants to see you as an old man👍
Keep it going my guy, the progress during your early runs is super quick. I'm training my girlfriend now who has never done running in her life. We've just completed her first 5 kilometer run without her stopping in about 35 minutes. This is her seventh run so far. 2 weeks and seven runs ago, she would stop after about 900 meters of running and 5km took around 45-50 minutes. Progress is quick. Keep it up!
Ive dropped nearly a stone Phil. started at 128 kg 20 strone 4-5 ilbs. now about 19st5. Im not monitoring my weight so much but it would be awesome to drop to 18st5 and then keep pushing on to get to 17stoneX . you can do it phil start the programme and switch out the breakfast for banana and all bran. I try and drink lots of water and snack less but still have good meals. I need to control my diet more but today Im having a curry :)
@@ForensicDetailing trouble is I have a heart condition so I’m limited to what I can do , so jogging is out of the question for me I’m afraid. Thanks for the reply though mate and you can do it , you will be 17 stone before you know it , I admire you for putting posts on like this
Wow! Bloody brilliant effort mate, hope you’ve recovered. Felt the pain man and you have my respect. Speed is no concern, get your heart rate up and try and maintain it for 20 mins. Build your stamina up slowly and do it regularly. You put the rest of us couchies to shame. Btw have you seen the documentary called “Fat, sick and nearly dead” by Joe Cross? That video is a true inspiration and maybe it’ll give you and the chaps here on YT some extra motivation. Well done and good luck with the training.
Well done for doing this. You are inspiring a lot of people. I've just finished week 9 and am not quite yet running 5k. More like 4.5k. Kinda. I intend to build up time - currently doing 32min runs and will add 2 mins per week until I reach 5k. Which I think needs 36mins at my current pace! Well done again.
I suspect Im gonna be well short of 5k as well mark. Im really slow the calves conk out if I go too fast. congratz on completing it amazing. Im on week 6 run 2 tommorrow
Congrats john , set yourself a target and stuck to it . It's an achievement to just get off your arse and start something like your doing , well done , keep going .
Well done Jon, it can be incredibly difficult to get back into a fitness program. I've not done any fitness in the 4 years since I left the Army and I'm dreading it knowing how unfit I've got. So well done you'll soon be smacking it.
I just did this yesterday on my drum set with the double kickers. In need to get in shape for playing that metal stuff I played with my band in the 90's, as we've gotten back together.... I was fifteen-nineteen years old when I wrote those parts, and to an seem to have any sort of physical restrictions of energy and power like I'm experiencing at 44! I'll get there though. I lost a lot of weight last year, and my hair is growing back.
I've been petrified of this run since I saw it on the c25k reddit page as the hardest part of the program. Can't wait to see the video saying you finished this program! Good luck sir
Absolutely smashing it out the park mate well done. I can walk for hours but can’t run at all but I may give this C25K a go as this is inspiring. My neighbour did it & now does park runs. BTW that looked like down the road from me in Bognor
Nice one Jon,I am impressed you could still speak in the last 2 mins to bid someone good morning, I am jealous, medical condition prevents me from doing that, self induced so it’s my own fault
Way to go John we knew you could do it! Your captions killed me! You know you’re not supposed to run towards the light right post to run the other way! Keep up the good work.
Jon, I guess your channel make me think I know you and I really don't but I'm still proud of you! Keep it up, it will be amazing when you get to the end of the program.
Fair fucks to ya. Doesn't matter how fast you are, the fact is you're moving forward and that's the only thing you should be focusing on. My only concern would be the risk of injury to the knees, so don't over do it. You got this!!
What a beautiful place you’ve chosen to run. Gorgeous! Please ask your doctor about your calf pain. It could be a blood vessel problem called claudication. Best luck to you!
Great job, you did it! Now is the hard part, you need to keep it up and remember the secret to losing and keeping your trimmed weight is 30% exercise and 70% diet - it is impossible to out-exercise a bad diet ;)
I can see John after a year that is addicted from detailing and running. Well done mate ;) just finished my 7km run ;) rwmwmber when Tom Allen started slimming track ;)
Good job consistency is the key don’t worry about distance just keep running, location looks great especially with the blue skies... where are you Bournemouth?

I started this from seeing your video, i'm on week 3 and it's making me think week 5 isn't going to kill me, because week 4 will. Good for you mate.
That’s like Berserk mode on Doom! Love it...great start and keep it up! 👏🏻👌🏻
I admire you doing this, something I need to do to get moving after all the lockdown over eating. Well done mate. 💪👍
