This game legit has something going for it with pretty good sound design and everything, even though the try hard writing sometimes misses the mark. Then the jumpscare happened and I sighed with disappointment at the spoopy zombie murder man. Less would have been so much more with this game.
certain parts tho like taking away reasonable choice and forcing you to choose and option like "unsure" to "i am safe in my house right now" are honestly really clever. gives a good feeling of helplessness. i also like the questions like "choose a sport you have played" and they're all sparring or martial arts. subtle but good. i wish they did more questions like that that led you more naturally to the conclusion that you're not safe over just "i am going to stab you in the eyes"

It's interesting how you got completely different questions in the first test to Jack. Though I agree with you Mark on the review of the game, I think it was doing really well and creating a solid atmosphere and then ruined it with a lazy set of jumpscares.
If the game ended without any kind of jumpscare people would probably also judge it for that, but I do wish the scare was more in the theme of the game than just a random dead guy appearing

Guys!! I get the chills easily and get really scared. But overtime, I found out three main ways to combat it. I hope this helps others too. Number one, some things are simply impossible. Always remember that impossible things will always remain that way. It gotta be like that sometimes lol :/ Ex. The "I'm in your house" part is impossible because I'm in a heavily secured household. It's simply impossible for someone to be here. ( Also, my parents both took military trainings-where they actually met. My brother is hella stronk. My grandfather will 11/10 rekt you, mate. Oh and, there are like 6 other people here so.. Heh ) Second, if you do happen to see/hear/feel/etc. something, it's likely hysteria and/or a hallucination caused by oneself overthinking-it's more common than you think. Ex. Static/Random noises stay that way unless you overthink. If you convince yourself that you hear shit, you *will* start hearing shit 👌 let the placebo effect help you out, not shit your pants. Lastly, the oldest trick in the book. Think of the ｈａｐｐｙ stuff/place/people/etc. Ex. Last night, I was washing my face. I had to do it for a minute more. During that time, a scary thought came to my mind. I tried to do the two other tricks but I found this one to be the most useful. I thought of my favorite game character and smiled when I imagined how he would narcissistically tell the monster to fuck off so I smiled. ( Smiling, even a fake one, releases chemicals in your brain and makes you happy btw! ) Fear is the most primitive emotion we human beings-or even other animals, have. We'd be *dead* if it weren't for our fight-flight-freeze response to threats. So, in a nutshell, what we fear the most is what made our civilization live and thrive. What I'm trying to say is, yeah, it's hella scary and all but remember. I feel like I got trolled, like this just 180'd completely from a genuinely good horror experience to one of those silly screamer games no one talks about anymore.
Yeah, if they just took it out it'd leave you with a sense of dread at the fact there was no climax. It would also be cool if it could shut down your computer for a couple minutes afterward so you don't distract yourself and actually go explore your house. Making you feel like you're in a horror movie.

I was disconcerted enough to have to talk out loud to calm my nerves, but had my computer shut down I would have been paranoid and terrified despite having a home security system. I would have been in my own head, thinking someone somewhere set this game up as a sick joke, as a lure to catch random people to hack and shut down their computers and such. The paranoia is what makes it good horror.
The idea of the game is still super interesting. There is more to the game at the bonus questions as far as I know, which is something the game hints at in the end with saying it want to participate.
when it asks if you want to be stronger, if you say no, then answer the follow up question it gives you with something (i forget what you answer there but it should be obvious) you actually get to ask *it* a question, and its responses are interesting

I find it pretty sad that Horrorgames have to rely only on jumpscares nowadays. This game did a very god job on building up tension but quickly screwed up with that bad animated jumpscare. Horrorgames are not just about scaring, they should be about creating an eerie atmosphere

Guys!! I get the chills easily and get really scared. But overtime, I found out three main ways to combat it.
I hope this helps others too.
Number one, some things are simply impossible. Always remember that impossible things will always remain that way. It gotta be like that sometimes lol :/
Ex. The "I'm in your house" part is impossible because I'm in a heavily secured household. It's simply impossible for someone to be here. ( Also, my parents both took military trainings-where they actually met. My brother is hella stronk. My grandfather will 11/10 rekt you, mate. Oh and, there are like 6 other people here so.. Heh )
Second, if you do happen to see/hear/feel/etc. something, it's likely hysteria and/or a hallucination caused by oneself overthinking-it's more common than you think.
Ex. Static/Random noises stay that way unless you overthink. If you convince yourself that you hear shit, you *will* start hearing shit 👌 let the placebo effect help you out, not shit your pants.
Lastly, the oldest trick in the book. Think of the ｈａｐｐｙ stuff/place/people/etc.
Ex. Last night, I was washing my face. I had to do it for a minute more. During that time, a scary thought came to my mind. I tried to do the two other tricks but I found this one to be the most useful. I thought of my favorite game character and smiled when I imagined how he would narcissistically tell the monster to fuck off so I smiled. ( Smiling, even a fake one, releases chemicals in your brain and makes you happy btw! )
Fear is the most primitive emotion we human beings-or even other animals, have. We'd be *dead* if it weren't for our fight-flight-freeze response to threats. So, in a nutshell, what we fear the most is what made our civilization live and thrive. What I'm trying to say is, yeah, it's hella scary and all but remember. The dark was a place early humans were scared of, not because of ghosts or monsters or those shit, it was because of wild animals-predators who were after them.

Yeah, if they just took it out it'd leave you with a sense of dread at the fact there was no climax. Making you feel like you're in a horror movie.

I was disconcerted enough to have to talk out loud to calm my nerves, but had my computer shut down I would have been paranoid and terrified despite having a home security system. I would have been in my own head, thinking someone somewhere set this game up as a sick joke, as a lure to catch random people to hack and shut down their computers and such. The paranoia is what makes it good horror.

The idea of the game is still super interesting. There is more to the game at the bonus questions as far as I know, which is something the game hints at in the end with saying it want to participate.
when it asks if you want to be stronger, if you say no, then answer the follow up question it gives you with something (i forget what you answer there but it should be obvious) you actually get to ask *it* a question, and its responses are interesting
