A huge part of growing up in the 80's was Hey Hey,and John was such an integral part of its longevity and success...he seemed such a lovely humble soul with a wonderful quintessential Aussie SOH... A great loss RIP 🙏

Hey Hey is losing most of their greats. First it was Ernie Carroll (aka Ossie Ostrich) now John Blackman, the man of many voices. It was a wonderful show & made Sat nights fun for many. He went thru alot poor John. Only hope he finds his voice again on the other side & is reunited with Ernie. ❤
@marlenesullivan3113 Yes, all great Aussie talents all sadly gone. I was fortunate enough to meet Don at a morning show at Canterbury Hurlston Park RSL & Bert b4 he appeared in The Wizard of Oz Lyric Theatre at the Star City Casino. He was very down to earth & signed my program & I had a photo with him. He wasn't pretentious at all & was a real nice guy. He MADE Channel 9 & when he passed it was a very sad day. We have memories thank goodness but we'll never see talent like theirs again.
He was so quick witted, and funny in himself. A hard worker and family man. Rest In Peace, John.
