I have a big problem Basically all of my sounds are around -10db, and it sounds quiet, but when I try to make it louder, it distorts and goes to 5db. And my songs distort easily and it's hard making my song sound the way I want them to sound when stuff like this happens. It happens with and without headphones. Do you maybe know how to fix this?
Wow, compression always confuses me, I knew I could use it on a mixdown and make it loud or a track that needs to cut through the mix a little more but I know I can mess things up with them too. You explained it perfect.

1. Upload completed video to youtube (private) 2. Wait around 30minute for auto captions to appear 3. Edit the subtitle inside youtube (there is some minor error here and there when a robot write captions for you) 4. Download SRT file 5. Drag SRT file to video editing timeline (I'm using premiere!) 6. Render the video with subtitle version 7. Done! Thanks for the comment btw!

The factor of which the audio loudness is compress. So if ratio is 2:1 , a -20dB would be compress to -40dB because -40dB is twice (2) softer than -20dB Hope that helps! 🙂
