@@taliamason7986 I would say Blackie was either equal or almost as equal as Buckley skills wise, but Buckley was the most selfish player I've ever seen. That's why his nickname has always been figjam. Blackie shits all over Buckley as a complete footballer and team mate.
@boganus699 It is clear cut he was better than Brad Johnson, good player (obviously) but defs not the level of the others mentioned. I love Blacky but its defs tight between him, Bucks, Goodes and Ricciuto if we were all to be generally honest and not let biased get in the way.
Its hard to believe that Simon Black could be classed as underrated. But the bloke is genuinely one of the best to ever play the game, had brisbane been more compeitive for longer he mightve been less underrated imo.
Agreed 3x All-Australian is not a true indication of how good he was, should be at least 6 and its coz he played in Brisbane. But I'm sure he's happy with 3 premierships, brownlow and norm smith.

I Remember watching wce vs Brisbane in a game that teams wore old jumpers I think it’s was called retro round wce wore an old wa state of origin jumper the eagles got flogged and S.Black was easily best on ground I said to my wife only one man deserves to wear that state jumper and that was blacky that year he was the best player from wa one of the all time great Western Australia footballers
100% WA great.The top 3 WA footballers from 2000s onwards have been Franklin, Cousins and Black I reckon. All 3 were match winners and best in the comp in their prime.
