Well, to be fair Zak's dog wasn't growling at him. She was growling at the cane corso puppy that was near her.
But overall that growling was not appropriate, too. 😂 Dog is on the owner's lap growling to get the other dog to move away.

I think its good to note, Dog Daddy has stated recently on BD Training's podcast that the videos we usually see of him with these super problematic dogs is when he first gets the leash and needs to get the dog under control. He said that is not him training the dog, but simply getting the dog which is currently unhinged, to get to a controlled state to begin the training!

Zak is acting like a fearful dog, biting anyone around him. If he was confident in his “training,” he wouldn’t be focused on destroying others’ reputations because they are gaining publicity. Zak is definitely dangerous as all hell if you think about the fact there could be someone who has a dog, something capable to do damage if it wanted to and it's acting crazy and instead of listening to, or hiring a Dog Daddy or anyone who knows how to handle that situation they listen to or hire a Zak Plage George on dogs and instead of getting proper help they get lies and bs and then the Dog does something crazy. That's Zak's fault. Now that damage is a direct result of Zak Death George and his BS Research Papers from a hundred years ago.
Zak is a Plague on the dog training world and the sooner he exits stage left the better.
We need to start showing up where he is and shutting down his operation like he's doing to DD. Oh wait he doesn't have an operation or anything to shut down because he's exclusive to making videos about Dog Daddy and apparently doesn't do anything else. LOL

Zak has never in his life trained an aggressive dog. DD offered him $50.000 to train one of the aggressive dogs he trains and he was like "i dont like to show these methods" or "my approach takes more time so it wouldnt make for a good video" or "I dont like such bets" or "oh DD is a bad person he would somehow trick me and use a dog he himself couldnt control either"..
But reality is that Zak can not train an aggressive dog. He has no idea how to handle them. All he can do is give some nice theoretical advice on training young dogs or dogs that area easy to train. And these things work for 90% of the dogs, but then there are 10% where it doesnt and 1% of those turn extremely aggressive and most trainers cant handle them. And those dogs are the one that Dog Daddy is training. He could easily train all kinda puppies that are easy to train. I mean he made some videos training his puppies, he never has to use any kinda force with them. But obviously that doesnt help, because showing people how to train dogs that are easy to train anyway is just unncessary.

But watching Joel Beckman, Cesar Milan, Robert Cabral, Kyle Schwab etc. for years and comparing it to "Dog Daddy" - sorry, that narcissistic little brat is using wrong and abusive methods. He is choking dogs out, throwing them around etc. That is the other extreme to the "positive only" movement.

@@MiracleK9Training We can only work with what we see. Everything else is just guessing and accusing.
What I saw from his videos was not a dog coming at HIM, but being reactive to another dog. With no danger to the other dog, since he was on leash. Then he choked him pretty harsh for 10-20 seconds if not longer. I stand with my opinion, that this is in appropriate at best. Maybe not as abusive and cruel as beating the living shit out of the dog. (I personally would take a beating over being choked any day...and yes I have enough experience with being beaten up pretty bad as a kid by my dad until I had visible blue/purple bruises all over my back and and legs)
But still inappropriate. Otherwise tell me please, why it is necessary to choke the dog that long for being leash reactive?
That he is the target now - well. Someone must be the first target. And of course it is often the more known one. And it even makes sense, because he is more influential than someone who is not even on RUclips.
He brought it upon himself. And I don't even like him. (no matter his training method)
When I saw him first time, years ago, with his "pack of German Shepherds", I already didn't like him. The body language of his dogs were not the ones of happy dogs. To me as someone who is not a trainer, but having a traumatized and very fearful dog myself (one of the 5 dogs that I have) it looks like fearful, submissive dogs that don't dare to do something else than following him in this way, because the consequences would be more punishment. Tails, Ears, head position, nervous walk etc. all looks fearful and highly submissive. (I might lack of english terms to describe it better)
If you don't know that video, you might want to look at it. I think its title is called "walking with pack of 5 shepherds" or something like that.

Seriously one of the best podcasts I have yet to see. I have been watching Dog Daddy almost since his conception in the dog training venue and I have to say I have a huge respect for his method. He takes each animal on a case by case basis and is wholly involved in the emotional and psychological well-being of each dog. I have seen him time and time again take a very aggressive, reactive, and or anxious dog and, over a period of time, turn them into a well-balanced canine. The true abuse is in letting aggression take control over the animal without proper leadership. What else can a dog do but defend itself by behaving aggressively towards a perceived threat? DD helps the dog understand that, under his leadership, he can live a life free of these perceived threats and fears. Now, that is emotional stability. Zack has yet to show me that he can achieve the same results with his method. The result is yet another dog deemed "untrainable" and doomed to be euthanized.

That is the interesting take I'm observing in the community. Either you're a diehard fan and simply swallow everything Zak (or whoever) says, or you'll likely understand that there are virtues in either method, they just need to be tailored specifically to each case. Zak's methods may be great for less problematic dogs and that's just perfect. The issue here (aside from his drama of course) is claiming "science says it works for every dog" when the evidence is clearly lacking.

I stumbled across Zak George about a year ago 'cause I was searching for a specific dog trick. Found the video entertaining and helpful, so I watched some more. Then I came across a scene where he would lift his reactive dog up and carry her to class - and he absolutely lost me there. My late dog was a 150 lb Landseer. And sure enough, during his adolescence, he went through a phase of thinking he was the biggest in town (which he actually was) and acting out on that. Of course, I did correct that! He became the greatest companion ever, friendly, social, and well-behaved. I laughed my ass off by imagining Zak George coming over and trying to lift my big boy up, or even just getting a hold of him on a harness! And don't get me wrong, I'm all about being as positive as I can, but there is a time and place for a correction. And I absolutely hate when people claim that only their way is the holy grail. There's almost always something different going on if they do.

I'm so fucking tired of this supposedly "animal friendly" people that just care about their own emotional well being. That's what it is. THEY want to feel good training their dog. All Zak "Does he even train dogs?" George does, is play with emotions. Everyone that ever worked sales knows that emotions sell the best. My boss has an australian sheppard that suddenly started biting and now has a bite history. He has been to MULTIPLE trainers. Guess where he ended? Medication. Dog is completely shut down now, doesnt even wanna go outside, is afraid of everything. Has to wear a muzzle even inside the house and guess what? The medication didn't even help with the aggression. What a joke. That's A LOT of money spend on trainers, "doctors" and medication. And Time. For what? Thus far: nothing.
Who exactly WANTS to correct his dog?! No one. I hope. But how the HELL do you wanna tell a dog: bro, you sure as hell can't do THAT. A correction it is. My amstaff wanted to bite me ONCE. I'm not proud about it and i sure as hell don't wanna brag with that, i just wanna share my experience: he tried to bite me while i was on the sofa with him, cuddling. Bite out of nothing. I corrected him, heavily. He never bit again. Never. Came back cuddling a few moments later. I take that few moments of discomfort any time of the day, over a dog that thinks he can freaking bite just because he doesn't like something.
I care about the well beings of others in this order:
    1. other people
    2. other animals
    3. my dog
    4. me
Whatever makes sure 1 and 2 are safe, i'll do. Not every dog is the same, some respond differently to different kinds of training. Some dogs simply need a heavier correction than others. How can anyone who ever dealt with dogs not know this?

I discovered Dog Daddy because I was watching Zack due to my family recently getting a puppy. Zack made Dog Daddy sound so awful so I hid his videos from popping in my feed. Then my sister in law told us about the dog daddy because they were having issues with their mastiff. They hired a behaviorist who was scared to death from her dog lol and just wanted to showered her in treats and it didn’t even work. Then they fired him and started watching the dog daddy. Anyway, I became curious and went ahead and watched a few of his videos and at the same time my puppy was doing well with treats when learning tricks, BUT he was beginning to show problems bullying my older dog (much smaller than him). I realized I was going to need pounds of treats to redirect him daily! Like… is he going to end up obese and still a bully lol my brain realized there’s only so much treats can accomplish. At the same time I watched a few videos of DD and realized most of them was he training the owners to understand the dogs needs and having to correct bad behaviors mostly due to the owners. Some of these people were at wits end almost not even wanting to engage with their dog but dog daddy made them turn around as much as possible. Consecutively I found Zacks other videos inviting people to go bully businesses that were supporting the dog daddy in some ways and telling people to call their state reps? I was like… wait I’ve never seen Zack near a truly aggressive way. And the one time he did make a video about it he got bit lol 😂
So needless to say I don’t watch Zack anymore and it was his own undoing 😂

Very similar to Zack’s reward methods with dogs. It didn’t work and gave children no clue that in the world there would always be consequences either positive or negative for their actions or lack of. The schools all across America are struggling just to teach because the behaviors are so bad these days. The second time was when my ex took in a stray 1 1/2yr old Dalmatian that wandered into her yard and collapsed from dehydration and malnutrition. The vet told her she was abused by adolescent boys and was extremely reactive to strangers. Since she was unable to keep her I agreed to take her in as I had just bought my first house with a nice fenced yard. It was summer and she was outside until I could determine if she would tolerate my cat in the house. I went out to play with her and she bit the side of my leg puncturing it with one canine tooth. Keys in my pocket prevented it from being a lot worse. I ended up leaving her out that night with her bed food water and toys. The next day I went out and sat in the grass with her on the other side of the yard while talking to her and eventually she crawled over to me on her belly and sat right in my lap! We were bonded for life. I held Sparky in my arms just as I did the first day we were together when she passed away at 16.

This man is not clinically psychotic but he's acting psychotic. I cannot believe that he's going to this length of doxing people and harassing other trainers simply because they are getting results with dogs that he can never achieve. Que tire League losses over the issue as to whether or not as to whether he would ever trained one of these dogs. The fact is he does not trained these dogs, he does not show the training, he does not post results. And he is so caught up in science yet fails to acknowledge that not only is science always evolving, but the science is actually not on his side. Ivan Balbalov has cited numerous studies, particularly the New Zealand bird dog study with 1604 dogs where they actually did follow-ups years later after they were trained on e collars and the results showed no negative effect to the emotional well-being of the dog whatsoever beyond the momentary stimulus. However, if mr. If his methods are so perfect for everyone and every dog, why does he need to force other trainers to follow his rules? Little aggressive and dominant, i think. If he knows the best way, why trainers does not pay him for sharing his knowledge? I want to see him to use positive reinforcement.

This video is his second time rebuttal to Zac George! It's a good video, that explains the science behind training dogs, the right way, with references to studies, etc. Video explains clearly why these methods not only work, and why they are used currently, by most of the worlds top dog trainers. They are proven to be successful. So many champion dogs and trainers use these methods. ( Hint - yes they use positive reinforcement, but, also balanced training.) Sorry, in a hurry, hope this makes sense.

Zack mentions he's been warning about wrond dog training for 20 years. And yet he got his first dog in 2005 - 18 years ago, and started training him for freesbee competition.
Same year he applied at PetSmart for dog trainer (even though having no formal education).
In 2006 he already started teaching others how to do it on RUclips 😄
Now, there is a professional. That progressed fast.
At least Dog Daddy spent childhood playing with and observing dogs - some hands on experience.

Dog Daddy has a very specific niche, he is exceptionally good at what he does which is dealing with bad dog aggression. Zak couldn't in his wildest dreams do the type of training and have the degree of success that Dog Daddy has. The only thing Zak George has mastered is the use of logically fallacies, articulate Gish galloping and taking things out of context, he also uses his wife's degree as an appeal to authority. George needs to reach inside his pants, find his set of balls and go head-to-head in real life with any of the balanced trainers who has extended an invitation.

Oh, and just to be clear, a dog will stop fighting and pulling on the leash before it crushes it's own esophagus. Like a doctor and vet told me "pain is a good indicator to stop what you are doing". The only way you generally see a crushed esophagus is if the human did it by pulling too hard (which then might be too excessive UNLESS the situation called for it for example if a dog is attacking a kid. Then I'm gonna do all the damage i can to said dog) maybe a dog fight or HBC for example. But you have to catch their attention by letting them hurt themselves. And a tug on a leash is not abuse. So Zak, be smarter than the dog and put your feelings aside.

Tampa: 11/25/23. The beautiful outdoor event venue that was rented for the Dog Daddy Training session had 5 Star reviews. When the people 'with the signs' finally found the location & showed up on the sidewalk outside the venue - her 5 star reviews dropped to 1 stars due to a flood of negative reports.
Of course, participants & observers saw how effective the methods were without harm to the dogs [ranging from 10 lbs to over 200 lbs].
*** There is a Zak video describing 'torture' ... you will see a small snippet, without hearing Augusto's observations, guidance to the owner, & the dog's confidence improvement witin 5 minutes.
I watched the owner have trouble controlling her dog in this social situation & in the proximity of other dogs. The dog was on a loose leash; she barked & shrieked due to fear, anxiety & she always got her way when her owner stopped trying to walk with her -- reinforcing this outburst due to lack of leadership.
Augusto held the loose leash & the dog leaped in the air, shrieking in a tantrum. Then Augusto explained her behavior & the causes. She settlled down, walked & followed calm commands within 5 minutes. She then followed her owner's newly learned lessons. Success & a relieved owner. She did a great job during the rest of the class walking with her dog!

OMG how depressing... no idea of Strong Positive Leadership at all. Zak is not a leader to the dog, just a playmate. He's clearly not developed that role, the dog likes him but does not respect him. Yes because the dog likes him, he's been able to develop a lot of obedience and they have a lot of fun together. But once the dog sees something it perceives as a "threat" it goes into stage 2 of the prey drive, which is stalking, "eyeballing." Stage 3 would be the lunge/bark and chase. The root cause is partly fear and partly Protection of the pack (ie Zak and the dog). Because of Zak's general demeanour I think the dog has gone into Protection mode. Zak as leader did not even try to go into Protection Mode, the dog is in front acting on it's own imitative. Poor dog. Zak is giving absolutely no "body language" that indicates that he can deal with the threat so the dog takes over. This is what I would have done in those circumstances. Dog on long lead, can mooch and wander, sniff wherever it wants. I see a dog in the distance. Instant get the dog onto short leash, exactly by my side and close heel. All this can be trained with Positive Reinforcement. Walk briskly with me between my dog and the other dog, really important. I would watch my dog constantly and maintain engagement. Moment "eyeballing" starts, simple command, say NO or Leave it, divert dog's gaze, with a touch of the hand, jump into "Protection Mode," standing really solid, both legs locked, feet pointing directly at other dog, other hand on hip, and my dog directly behind me. The dog would pick up on my "body language" and feel protected and then not need to react. Why is Zak not doing this?"

    39:46 Does Ivan Balabanov count?
Steven R. Lindsay, who wrote the "Handbook of Applied Dog Behavior and Training"?
Victoria Lea Voith, Charter Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists, President of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, who wrote the foreword for the same book?
First few names that popped in my head, I'm sure there's plenty others if you do this for a living.
41:43 Who is we? Have I missed the video where Zack is training dogs who aren't puppies, small, or mild mannered, to a decent level? Where do I see the videos of Zack off-leash heeling a 40 kg dog downtown?

MAN, Zak George is SUCH a nice guy.
Legit nicest guy I've ever met. If we could all be a bit more like Zak the world would be a better place.
"I'm not saying this to be disrespectful, but... look at this magic trick, look at this big fierce dog, let me shut it down by yanking and cranking, look how amazing I am."
    How is that not disrespectful???
And then Bree is there in the background going, "I just hope we can help people, I hope we can teach them..."
These guys are so nice it makes me SICK TO THE STOMACH you giant hypocrites. This is the thing that really drives me crazy. You can't just say "I don't mean this such and such" and then in the next sentence say the exact opposite! He does it all the time if you listen.
    "We are not bullying businesses."
    Yes you flippin are.
"We are just trying to make the public aware."
Wow you are so nice. You definitely are doing that. And telling people to leave unwarranted fake bad reviews on businesses that are completely innocent is just making them EXTRA aware I suppose.
I mean, if I were the owners of one of those venues I would sure be very aware of how vicious and disgusting you are, Zak.
You are using punishment and neg reinf to train the DD and you know it. What a hypocrite.
I'm sorry for this comment but I needed to vent.
Thank you David for sharing these stories so I don't have to give that creep engagement by clicking on his videos.

Great video, thank you! At the present time I have an 18 month old male Working Line who I have made mistakes with. He saved me from an attack and I was so grateful I really praised him when he was just over a year old. I created a dog who now trusts no one. If I had to choose between Zak George or Dog Daddy, I wouldn't hesitate to trust my dog with D.D. I don't feel Zak George has the qualifications to handle a large aggressive GSD, whereas Dog Daddy is very experienced and would have the courage to put him in his place and train me on how to create a more balanced dog.

I started my 16-week-old Catahoula puppy with a positive only trainer. He was biting to the point of injuring me, I still have scars from him, and after 4 weeks of training had still made no progress in curbing that behavior. I was seriously considering re-homing him. I ultimately took him to a balanced trainer. He stayed with her for 5 days and he has never bitten me since. I continued with her training methods through private lessons weekly. He is now 2 years old and is fully off leashed trained. I mostly use positive methods, he's very food motivated, but do use corrections when necessary. I know that what I'm doing is best for him and me. The balanced training has made it possible for us to have a wonderful relationship. He is my best bud, and we do everything together. Everyone who has known him since I got him, from his vet to family and friends, continually make comments on how far he has come. While I prefer positive training, corrections are sometimes necessary to keep him and me safe.

His trainer told me that she addressed his lack of self-control and established proper boundaries. I do know that she uses balanced training methods and has taught me how to train him. It wasn't inexpensive, but it's the best money I have ever spent. I went from being afraid of him hurting me, I'm 74 years old and have very fragile skin, to him being my wonderful companion.
