I've had the SC S1s on my 950SP for one year. I decided to go with them because they are available with grid caps, and the caps definitely make them appear a more finished, well-thought out product. I rarely ride without earplugs, but due to a mild right ear issue a few weeks ago, I was forced to ride without them. At higher speeds the S1 are VERY loud. Part of my ride requires a roundtrip thru a 1.7km tunnel and the sound is absolutely symphonic! The ride takes me up into a redwood forest, and as I downshift to 2nd the boom attracts attention and this location has been a bike hangout for well over 50 years. The additional weight is a nonstarter, because it's the unsprung weight that matters. Start the ride with light-weight pipes and stop to have a proper lunch, and there go the touted weight savings. To anyone who is going to get the Ti pipes. either install them whilst wearing gloves, or wipe them clean with WD-40 BEFORE firing up; that way your fingerprints won't be burnt on to the pipes.
