Last week I saw a "gaming PC for parts" advertised on Marketplace, the case was a very old Corsair with a DVD drive in it, described as having no storage, GTX 1080, Z690 MB and 600w PSU, also stated it needed sata cables to boot. Only asking $50, I thought the motherboard would be an older board and not a Z690. I offered the asking price, picked it up, and it also had a Noctua NH14 air cooler, and underneath a 12700. The motherboard wouldn't post, but I was able to use the Asus bios flash to update the bios, after that it posted. Great deal, and an incredible powerful platform. For the iGPU on the 12700, I was able to play No Man's Sky on the iGPU of a 12700k, had to go to lowest settings, but it was very playable.
@V-pale-king-Vno, that was on a different PC a couple of years ago, it belonged to my son, I had to go out of town for work and took it with me. He had just upgraded to a new RX 6950 XT, but it was faulty, so I used the iGPU for testing, and gaming until I got home, he got an RMA for the GPU.
I found a someone selling their Digital Storm Velox X prebuilt on craigslist for $500, got him down to $450. He had it listed as having an "RTX 1080" with "8gb or ram" (yes he said "or"). I did a quick image search on the GPU and found that was actually an RTX 4060. So I bought it. For $450. I feel like I robbed this guy. 32gb of DDR5, a Ryzen 7 7700X, a 1tb Kingston NVMe, and the RTX 4060.
This is a Intel ES chip (Engineering Sample) these Chips are for OEM & ODMs Companies, Some of these Chips are also for Laptop Chips There are chinese store on Aliexpress selling these chips. By using a BGA to LGA adapter. They sell really cheap Strong CPU, but also not recommended. the CPU Heat spreader (IHS) sometimes doesnt spread Heat that well. so it requires for some delidding which is really risky. They also sells out ON-board chips too. which is less risky. Also one of the main issues with these chips is It has a risk of unstable, And has to Change configs on the RAM. Since these chips doesnt use 4 ram slots It will glitch out. Even if you didnt use Four RAM, if your Motherboard has four slots its still going to be unstable. Get two slots instead. Overall I don't recommend you buying this chips even if the advertisers say it can be overclock multiplied even using an H610m. That's even worse. Stay safe.
For a normal system I'd agree with you, but as something to tinker with I could see it. Been thinking of grabbing one of those boards for a few years just to play around with.
@DarkDragonEWA Yeah, i would genuinely test this chinese chips seems pretty underrated for that kind of price, I recommend you getting the On-board one its just less of a headache later. but if you go for the BGA to LGA Single chips one i recommend you to get a motherboard with only two slots of RAM Four Slots works but you have to configure the RAM Timing and speed, and an updated BIOS for it. these chips tend to get hot since the IHS doesn't do a great job at spreading the heat. Wish you goodluck on that man.
Over-clocking wrecks CPU's. Even if you keep them cool. You might get lucky by not wrecking them, but I have gone though a handful of Intel Processors already, since the second generation of i7 processors. I even managed to wreck a Xeon processor. Not that I am bragging, the older processors are cheap to replace but it can damage your data on your file storage device and forcing you to do a fresh install of your favourite operating system.
@pixels303at-odysee9 Yeah that's how fragile CPUs are You never know if these CPUs are Great for Overclocking that applies to every CPU, I recommend Undervolting, you get almost same performance with power efficiency.

The funny thing about the CPUs is that they are still owned by Intel; you're not actually allowed to sell them, they are on loan from Intel. I have a few of them here, and they are unfinished products.

Thank you for letting people to learn about "ES" Cpus. Usually,the seller is Chinese,and most, that i know of - came from AliExpress. They CAN be faulty, sometimes not all the functions are there,and sometimes the frequency is not,as it should be. The good seller usually states for wich motherboard it would fit,and can help,if trouble arises.

It's simply a test CPU.
Some ES CPU make the first PCIe slot on the mainboard not work, so make sure you use the second one if you want to use dedicated GPU.
