I know this is a WIP so don't kill me =P. The damage model looks really good, however, the cars are quite "bowncy". Are there values related to the amount of energy that dirt, barriers and other surfaces help to dissipate? BeamNG has the same problem. The surfaces don't "take" the energy out of the car on impact, so the crashes are a bit exaggerated. This is a legit, nerdy, criticism. You guys are doing an amazing job. Cheers
It is a lot better with the new model than the old, but still not perfect. You can tell the difference between a tyre barrier contact and a wall contact with either the old or new model so they definitely model the surface differences, I think it is just hard to model all the energy loss that goes on. I think the best part of this is how good the open wheeler wheel to wheel contacts look. The way you can ride a while now and it pops you up is pretty cool.
it looks quite good... still big problems with some contact/level of damage. def the right direction and should make racing better when people will be more carefull... or not :P
So... no more flying cars twirling up 5 miles into the sky when rollling over after a crash ? this is nearly sad :( On the other hand the new damage model looks awesome !
This was a week 13 fun race with these two put together for a bit of fun chaos :) I think the wings got a bit damaged, were wobbling around, but perhaps they should have come off.
Yes, but not on all cars yet, just the two types of cars shown in this video, thew F3 and Skip Barber. I am not sure if they are still calling it a Beta or not, but I thin this is still a bit of a soft release until they expand it to all cars.

I actually find it really accurate

I just really like how well they have done the wheel to wheel contact, it seems pretty realistic
1:08 aight ima head out
you guys did what codemaster and EA games should have done a long time ago, thank you very much

You just have to try harder to get them up that high :)
1:00 right wheel just comes back in lmao
No Skippies were harmed in the making of this video.
Only virtual ones :)
1:31 & 3:49
>Car rolls end over end
>Rear wing/both wings are still intact
Seems legit
Also why are Skippies and F3 cars racing together?

Why can’t codemasters do this😫
Nice video
is it in the game now?
