- In today’s tutorial I’ll be demonstrating how you can use GIMP to create a mosaic photo collage where a bunch of individual photos are used to represent a larger photo.

Brother your videos are so helpful to me. You are doing a great job, I have not seen anyone who makes very good tutorials. thanks for your effort and time...
You really are doing great work man. You are helping people get a taste of graphic designing and being sure if they wanna pursue a career in it or no.
Great! I love these tutorials. I always end up learning something new.
In 2 weeks I will be watching the gimp series. Thanks for the free content in the meantime.
This was super helpful easy to follow and exactly what I was looking for :)
Nick my name is Nelson I'm Brazilian and I've learned a lot with your videos I really want to thank you for creating them, especially with GIMP, which is a free and affordable editor. The new GIMP tutorial videos are not going to the playlist, maybe because of the description, in the new videos the description is without the letter s tutorial, and in the playlist is tutorials with the s. I realized because I have the playlist saved to make it easier for me to study, and I noticed that the new videos were not appearing in the playlist. Again thank you very much for all the knowledge you have shared, a big hug!
Perfect. All of the websites that try to do this make you pay for the final product, this is much better. Thanks for the tutorial.
This was really helpful, very clear thank you
Hey, I've always wanted to do this but was worried about how complicated it'd be. But nice, simple video well explained. And, after a little trial and error (accidentally trying to make a 50gb file), finally managed to make one today. Thank you, sincerely.
Seriously you are awesome for GIMP
Thanks! This was really helpful! One amusing thing I noticed - there are several photos in your collection that I have in my collection - I got them from the cover art of various bits of music I listen to. Cheers!
This video deserves so ˘much more views
Thank you for awesome videos
thanks a lot for this tutorial nick
Thanks for this great tutorial :))
New sub from France !
Oh This was really cool :D
Amazing thanks !
You are the best broooooooooo✌✌✌
Nice, thumbs UP!
Awesome!
That's really nice Nick. When you going to make tutorials pop art or comic style using gimp?
Thanks!
thank now finally i can make a bday gift for my mom thank you
Great!
Hey Nick, this is an extremely helpful video. I only got one problem,
the pictures i turn to a montage are shown upside down and on wrong sides sometimes.
And if i try to overlook that and just add the montage copies together, it suddenly turns all black (in the picture).
I have no clue what to do :( sorry im a big Gimp Noob too
Great Tutos, but my layer is so big after the montage ( about 1.2 GB ) then duplicating 8* I get about 4.1 GB.
And again montage GImp just crashes, because file size is to big...Well, I guess thats because every pic I downloaded is FullHD (1920*1080)
Bravo 👍
Hey Nick, did you know there is a freeware programme called andreamosaic that can do this for you. I use it alongside gimp and inkscape portable apps
i am not able to find that plugin in my gimp
can you help me?
Great video sir! I am facing one issue, once I select the montage option and after loading, the final montage has a blank photo in the middle...any idea how to fix that ?
Hey, i russin boy, video super!
Like.
Is that possible to sort the picture by color. For example place the darkest picture on the hair and the brightest on the eyes.
Not that I know of unfortunately.
Have you ever done short animations with GIMP? like a youtube intro would be cool.
Could you try to make a motocross - theme logo? It would be amazing to see something like that! :)
Thanks for the video. Nice result, but this effect will require a lot of memory, won't it?
Yes but I don't know how much. The machine I recorded this video on has 32 gb.
Unable to see GIMC option under Filters
When I hit Overlay it just send me back to background Main photo. No matter what I do.
I cant find that g'mic in my filters
Found another decent channel
Nice
folks, do not take too big photos, 50 kb to 100 kb is ok. If the photos are big (2 or 3 Mb) it takes much longer.
Good point. All of the photos I used in this video were around 320px in size.
For some reason when I click on montage it doesn’t arrange the photos into a montage, am I missing something? I’ve watched the video multiple times.
at gimic window change input layer from active layer to all visible layer
How to use a light effect like a lamp in Gimp??????
With what program do you edit your videos?
Sorry, how did u open that base picture? i openned a new tab and created a new layer for the 1 base picture, followed ur first instruction but it didn't do as showing in ur video, which means i'm doing something wrong.
great
gracias por subtitularlo al español
Hey Nick, I know this is off topic but do you know where I can get some good free brushes for GIMP, the standard brush set is pretty non existent
Brusheezy has a bunch of PS brushes that work fine in GIMP.
ok so i have my images but they all arent the same scale so what ends up happening is the biggest image just overlaps the smaller ones, do i have to go threw and individually scale each image?
It shouldn't be doing that. Do you have the same settings selected as I had in the Montage menu?
@@LogosByNick yes
I don't see any Gimmick feature with me. Please help me
I also dont see gimmick feature
I just need like 12 photos - can this work for that, or will it only work with 50 photos?
will also work with just 12 :)
Extension link not working.
error 404 not found in your page link of download

gmic.eu/ is the new download link, the one in your website is no longer available :o
BTW I love your tutorials, so easy to understand and follow, thanks so much for your hard work!
How would you do an actual mosaic, not combining a photo and a dense set of thumbnails?
this does not work for me,when i go montage on gimic nothing happens
In the montage settings, at the bottom under input/output, make sure input layers is set to all and output mode is set to new image.
Mine do weird stuff too, when I tried the montage it stacked all the pictures one on top of the other
In mine there is no such option. Gimp 2.10.18 Linux Mint
guess i have one technique more to fill up my portfolio 😂
seems like gmic is out of date... or am I missing something?
я устал это делать IT-1
