I enjoyed your video. Very comprehensive. If I may, as flint and steel is my passion. You are holding and traditionally striking your steel, this is instinctive and seems best but is not the optimal way, I suggest swapping over to the Nordic or pinch grip, grasp the striker between your thumb and forefingers in a pinch grip, this gives a lot of control and almost eliminates any chance of grazing your knuckles. I found my whole world opened up when I adopted the Nordic style of striking and flint and steel became instinctual and easy.
There are smaller strikers I have where a pinching grip is better - though for the large O-striker I use here, I prefer gripping this way. Both are good - my preference changes depending on the shape of the striker.

@SageOfTheSword I use the pinch grip for all striker styles, it just feels natural to me now, but you go with what works for you mate
