Bless you Stephen 💜 I have a few friends and family who believe I have schizophrenia or bpd from some of my odd behaviors. I’ve started seeing therapists and psychiatrists to get help. You give me a lot of hope and I hope you have a wonderful week.
It has been an amazing experience to watch this amazing young man fully embrace his recovery with such enthusiasm; he is not only surviving, but thriving. He has confronted this debilitating illness with rare courage and dignity. His journey is an example of the power of commitment and perseverance in the face of an illness that was once considered hopeless. You are lighting the way. Bless you Stephen!
Your videos have been very helpful to me. My sister has schizophrenia/multiple personality disorder and I've been helping her every step of the way. It takes a lot of courage to make these videos about your life. Thank you and God bless!!
Hey friend. I’ve also got schizophrenia. I’m on clozapine too at 450mg. I still struggle with paranoia and panic attacks. Watching your videos has been a good experience . I wish you all the best with your channel , your family and your mental health . Stay strong
Been dealing with the exhaustion too, today I have been making myself go outside, and a change of enviromemt can really be a big boost! Thank you for these videos!
I agree that taking a walk, even when I have to force myself to do it ends up really helping me to clear my head and think more positively. Thanks for your videos!
You aren’t alone In the struggle with fatigue and exhaustion. Thanks for promoting and advocating good basic healthcare and wellness. You are SO loved and valued 💕
I am not big on compliments, but I am forced to say, "You are amazing." What a testament to good parenting, determination and love. You live a fulfilling life. More to come. Only the very best for you! I love following chess. Magnus Carlson is the bomb. I could never "push myself" into learning how to play. You are amazing.😉
Stephen, good luck on the chess! Your enthusiasm is contagious. You are absolutely right, sometimes you have to really push yourself to do meaningful and important things. Having mental illness doesn't make things easier. Best of luck to you!
So glad you’re feeling better- great job on pushing through. Hope the lethargy lets up. Thanks for your words of wisdom, too! I agree that pushing makes each time less stressful.
I started using the step tracker on my phone & it can help motivate you and see your progress and trends. I often reach 10k but if you can set a goal for around 4-5k a day, that’s really good and benefits your health in many ways. Just a suggestion. ;)
This is really great and so motivating! Also- does the medication you have to take cause you to feel more tired? It is a struggle for me to get up and get moving when I feel so tired but one classic line I tell myself is that "spending energy creates energy" and that has helped a bit! I am grateful that you share yourself with us in videos because you are helping so many families!
I am so excited to see how your confidence and belief in yourself is growing! You are like a butterfly that has come from a cacoon. I've been following your videos since the start. It has always been very insightful and especially to me, who has a lifelong friend with Schizophrenia still coming to a much better understanding of the condition. Your channel might be a healing agent to you, but it is so much more to a world out there. Keep pushing yourself while still remembering to be gentle, kind and forgiving towards yourself. Allow yourself all the good days, but be kind enough also towards yourself to grant yourself days when you might not be so bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Thank you so much Stephen for this video, I really needed this "jolt" of inspiration to get me going today. It's cold day outside, I'm sitting at my computer feeling too tired to do anything, but now I will try to push myself, like you said, to do something useful. Thank you for that :) I love that you got into chess, I used to play it with my grandfather a lot, it's a wonderful game and I guess what I appreciate about the game is that there's no "randomness" (there's no rolling of dice or shuffling cards or stuff like that), it's all about one's knowledge about game and careful (or not so careful ;) ) planning and creativity in developing offense and defense. The game's about as fair for both players as the game can get, if you ask me, and I kind of appreciate that because not a lot of things in life are "fair" to everybody :) Thanks again Stephen, and best of luck and health :)
You pushed yourself to travel to Texas, and that got you back to playing chess, and now you are motivated to learn more about the game and play even better. Your self-motivation is inspiring! And pushing yourself to take a walk has led to making a very good video. ALSO, when you smile, it is wonderful!
You’re so, so lucky to have parents like your Dad, my grandson is 22 and he’s tired all the time just like you, and he can’t work or be around people. This stress is so overwhelming for him. My grandson came into my life around July of this year. I wished he could accept his lifestyle such as you have.
4:35 Psychology for you. That’s called the Zone of Proximal Development. It’s the proposed area that is an optimal challenge for growth. And there is always one. It might be really small. But it’s always there.
Thank you so much for sharing and giving me hope for my son. This video was very helpful bc as my son recovers, it’s hard to gauge how much to push him with getting back to life.
I am feeling so lazy today, but I will push myself to go for a walk. Thank you :) That was so nice of your family to gift you a chess set. I'm glad you're enjoying playing!
I am really proud of you. It may sound funny, but thank you for pushing yourself to accomplish. You are a worthy person no matter what you do or don’t do. Thank you also for these videos.
You are such a wonderful soul and an amazing inspiration. I wish you all the best and praying for you to keep pushing...never stop. You will get better and better every day.😊
Its true, sometimes you have to push yourself to do things. Afterwards you feel way better. It happens to me too sometimes.....and I'm not ill with schizophrenia.
Thank you for sharing so much. For my occupational therapy studies we have a project for people suffering with schizofrenia and your videos along with orders help me see more facets of the people behind the illness instead of just learning from books. ❤
Stephen, have you learned about link between blood sugar spikes and schizophrenia? One doctor claims a keto diet can CURE schizophrenia. A keto diet eliminates blood sugar spikes, to maintain a flat and level, which improves neuro/mental functions.
Yes, pushing yourself gently is worthwhile. I wonder if you ever discussed with your psychiatrist if you could switch very, very, very, slowly from clozapine to Epilim ( valporate). There is less tiredness. It's not a possibility for everyone, especially if you are having break through episodes on the clozapine. Who knows...Might be worth a discussion.

Is it just me or does Stephen seem to be getting genuinely happier with every video? So glad for you Stephen🎉❤🎉

“No pain no gain” I am constantly pushing myself or I would just sit around all day, smoking and getting depressed. Good advice Stephen take care 😊

How exciting that you're playing Chess ♟️! Enjoy!
