Congrats on wasting your money on i7 and a overpriced z390 mobo with the worst VRM’s in its price range.
wasted money is buying nintendo 64 chipset for a gaming computer , no matter how much you pay , ya still get ripped off...i7 are not a waste of money , i have a laptop with i7-7700HQ and runs almost everything 60fps on max settings with a gtx 1050 (4Gb) so... if you're stuck under 40 fps , it may be a rip off but considering i run almost everything on ultra at 60fps with the shittiest i7...that's not bad at all...just to let ya know... i used to play pc games at 3-25fps on a 2core 1.5Ghz 1Gb RAM and no video card 4-10 years ago ... just playing over a steady 30fps makes my day...when i was 14 playing skyrim at 10fps i was happy when i was reaching 15-20fps , i remember playing Gmod at 5-15fps , i had to look at the skies to reach over 30fps...i even bought ARK Survival Evolved on that laptop...after 17 loading crashes and 9 hours of loading , i got 2 frames then game crashed...i don't need extreme fluidity when playing...it just gets annoying when you play at 15fps for over an hour.
i have an i7-7700HQ and the only game i drop under 60fps on max settings is far cry 5 ( i have a 2016 laptop ) and 9th gen are a lot faster than my shitty 4 core 2.8Ghz that can't do overclock... when i get a tower i am 100% garanteed to buy an i7 9th gen since they're cheaper than i9's and very similar performances
