    The best organs are few and far between in England now, and the best organists even fewer. It’s such a delight to discover this organ has been restored and that Diane Bush played it so beautifully for us all to see and hear. The icing on the cake for me as an Englishman was to hear Diane playing Rule Britannia, at a time when we’ve just been commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Allies victory over the Nazis in WWII. Brought me to tears.

      Good organists, yes. Good organs, no.

    Happy to see Joy of Music again and Diana Bish. Loved watching it years ago and then nothing except repeats on EWTN. Hopefully I'll be able to see new episodes. Beautiful tribute to Sir Cleobury.

    My first opportunity to hear the restored organ, and the icing on the cake is to see the First Lady of the Organ playing it! OH, I am overwhelmed! God bless you, Ms. Bish!

      Hmm. The audio recording really doesn't do it justice.

      I am aware of that, having heard several organs and purchased CDs.

      ZERO audio quality on RUclips or most recordings of pipe organs do the instrument justice. To get the true experience of a pipe organ, you MUST be in the room the instrument is in.

      @Vikram Keskar
      I've heard in my lifetime MANY wonderful recordings of the pipe organ and even recorded a CD of an organ that was brilliantly recorded, and still NOTHING compares to hearing the instrument in the room live regardless as to how good the recording equipment is. My CD was digitally recorded and despite that, it doesn't stand in the shadow of hearing that organ live in the room. I'm familiar with the Nathan Laube recording, thanks but I guarantee that Harrison & Harrison organ sounds far better in that chapel than that recording could have ever hoped for...

      @@contraposaune That was the quality of the videos they had back then in the early 90's.

    Slight correction for the introduction. King's College Chapel is a chapel, not a church as stated at 0:42. A church has parochial and diocesan responsibilities within the structure of the Church of England. King's College Chapel does not have these responsibilities and is not subject to the authority of any diocesan bishop. Rather it is a collegiate Chapel subject only to, and in the ownership of, the Provost and Fellows of King's College Cambridge.

    I think she got the history of Kings College wrong. It is not named for its buildings or organ but for royal sponsorship by Henry 6th. Also she implied that all the colleges at Cambridge University are very old, when some are post-Reformation or even modern.

    Surprised she didn't mention the American Forces gift to the Chapel of the Reuben's alterpiece.

      Generally spelt altar and certainly spelt Rubens. Also the Rubens was gifted to the College by an English property developer, Alfred Ernest Allnatt, who two years previously had purchased it from the estate of the 2nd Duke of Westminster.
