Part 15: • Beanie Sigel: Aaliyah ...
Part 1: • Beanie Sigel on Going ...
--------
In this clip, Vlad started off speaking to Beanie Sigel about dropping “The Reason,” his second album, which went to #5 on the Billboard charts. Beanie then revealed that he wasn’t finished with the album when Roc-A-Fella told him to drop it, and Beanie explained that he didn’t know how to make an album until “The Becoming.” Vlad went on to speak about the State Property movie coming out in 2002, and Beanie revealed that he almost didn’t get on “Roc The Mic,” the big single from the soundtrack. Beanie then explained that it was his brother that convinced him to get on the song, and Beanie added that he didn’t want Jay-Z to hear it until it was finished. To hear more, including Beanie revealing that Omillio Sparks is “sick to this day” about his verse not making the cut, hit the above clip. - Развлечения
That song was fucking classic, still popping in clubs today,in 2002 when it 1st dropped please back in NYC the club scene was crazy
Yessir
Snapple fact
I love how Beans imitates his brother 😂
Exactly! I just commented the same thing. 😅
These are the type of hip hop stories I love to hear
Beans said I wasn’t finished with the album and he completely ignored it
Right!!!! I wanted to hear more about that Vlad wild
Yeah.. Vlad Missed A Golden Opportunity For Him To Expound. He Could’ve Followed Up With Did You Have Other Songs Written But Not Recorded Yet? Could’ve Said How Many Did You Intend For The Album To Have.. Like 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
@@QuiseKirilenko exactly. That’s what happens when you do a quick google search 15mins prior to the interview
We’d be clubbing in D.C the DJ would have 2 play Roc the Mic back to back. Club would go all the way up. I rocked the Baltimore Bullets shooters shirt, fitted with the Red, white, blue Converse Weapons. The early 2000’s was fun times.💯
This is 100% facts
Ayye my boy was gettin fly on ‘em with that fit 😂 I don’t care what nobody say them early 2000’s outfits was the shit!! I miss them days too
@@brandwest592 what a time to be alive. Partying 3 to 4 nights a week it was up!!
Not the converse bro 🤦🏽♂️
shout out to Beans brother that track was phenomenal; Jay would have definitely took that and ran with it.
Kept that bitch 😂
Jay already did that on Freeway first joint. Jay would've sat that one out. Probably jumped on the remix
@Jay Kay num5 u know jay walked in room and started mumbling to himself when he heard that beat
@@ojlott-w4n The first single with Free n Jay?
@@jaykaynum5569 I'm thinling about freeway "what we do" lol not roc the mic
Remix wit Nelly and Murphy Lee was crazy
Jada n Styles on We Gonna Make It (remix with Eve). Free n Beans, Roc The Mic (remix with Nelly) were all fire 💯💪🏾👑
Vlad done messed up 5 important things so far. He did no research
His googling skills failed him this go around
Beans wearing a Celtics hat... they both gotta take an L
Vlad ain’t hungry no mo.
So many missed stories in this interview! Smh 🤦🏾♂️
Vlad dis that on purpose
Shoutout Sigel Brother For Making That Power Move For Him
When The Reason album wasn't finished and the quality is solid, that shows you how severely underrated Beans is.
BTW, "Roc The Mic" is one of, if not, my favorite hit song from Beanie Sigel. :)
That freeway "what we do" was the hottest song that summer of 02
Beans career should've went a lot further than what it did! I believe if he didn't try to be a street thug and a rapper at the same time, he would've been in a more comfortable position than what he is now! One of my favorite songs is "feel it in the air" and he couldn't even promote the song because he was in prison! My point!!!
Agreed. Sigel really should have had a long mainstream rap career because he really was better than most. Even some of his tracks that could have been radio singles he came too raunchy on ‘em. Had a banger on the b. coming for the ladies that could have been a summer classic but was just explicit on it for the radio.
The Reason my favorite BSieg album. Guru and Justblaze killed it on da production. Dats when soul samples was in and it was a lot of em on there too 💯
Freeway's intro is FIRE ...
"I miss the hood when I'm travelin
Get neck when I'm travelin
Chicks peck wood when I'm travelin
Fuck a Lex cuz the click fit good in the Caravan
Slide through your hood like a avalanche"
Damn free 🔥 them SP boys was the muscle of the ROC
Beans looking like Ryder with them glasses he got on 🤣
Dat “What’s Ya Life Like 2” n “Nothing Like It”
Was Dem
Ones On The Reason 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The B. Coming his best work. Borderline classic album
Correction it is a classic lol😅
Roc The Mic straight Classic
“Ni99as got to Miami and was all over the place” 💪🏾😂😂
When he demonstrated how his brother said it to him: funniest sh*t. 😄
Roc the mic was a classic
Roc the mic and what we do are still in my most played... crazy 🔥
Now We need that Oschino & Sparks interview, Glad!😂😂😂
What we do was better
My opinion
Different vibes.
No lies told here
Why vlad thinks were here to listen to him to talk and not the guest... I'll never fuckin understand
Why yall never mention that the remix was on Nellyville
"I WASN'T FINISHED!!!" C'mon Glad pay attention! 😂😂🤦🏾♂️
The roc the mic joint was aight, to me it was never much of a "megabanger", but "The Reason" album is in my opinion classic album from Beans. I hate that the album is never talked about in any convo or placed in anyones mind to be even near to a classic, when it should be. The production was insane on every track. And Beans lyrics and emotion on "Nothing Like It" , "Tales of a Hustler" "Mom Praying" , "Still Got Love for You" , "What Your Life Like 2" was insane. I don't understand why Beans talks down on that album like it was unfinished or "not all that", because those records are timeless. It was even better to me than his first and third album. I guess its mostly because when it comes to "emotional" records and production, he shines even more than on the gritty records. The pain in his voice is just something you feel.
That mans said
"I'm ridin all out for Umi
Christian Caffer, though I follow the path of the Sunni
What can I do but bow down and give offerings
For the lady with the softest skin
Keep picturin grams tuckin me in
Breakin me out of her change purse
Slash teacher, slash preacher, slash changed nurse
One woman, ten boys, seven daughters
Three story house wit no supporter
Damn, you wanna get your life in order
Words from the oldest boy of your youngest daughter"
Like Jay said "Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it?"
that's what i feel the critics and most people did when they listened to this classic album smh
The reason by far is my favorite beans album that nothing like it still touches my soul on another level. I think it's never talked about as a classic because everyone can't relate to that album
Right, ur absolutely right, well put. I like reading comments like these when legenda of our times are interviewed. Something else thab "vlads a vulture" "vlad talks too much" or fake tk comments. Comments like these coming from real fans of this culture, they remind and teach people.
@@Tero92 kiitoksia :D
The reason was the best b Sieg. Joint. Exactly for all the tracks dude mentioned up top
Just cause you like a album don't mean the shit is a classic. It's not even better than the B. Coming
State Property soundtrack is flawless
The intro to The Reason, "Nothing Like It" is 🔥🔥🔥
I don’t do much
Classic Kanye
How did the Roc the Mic remix end up on Nellys album.
😂because it got clear, silly rabbit
Cuz nelly was on the remix
The remix was crazy with Nelly and Murphy lee how they end up on the record 💯
Vlad need a hip hop person on his staff asap
Yeah, he doesn't know anything about music SMH lol
B-Coming was his best album
Dunno bout best, but Bread & Butter was HARD!!!
Indeed
The reason is my favorite but the b. Coming is a masterpiece . That tales of a hustler 2 , dead or alive, feel it in the air, purple rain. beans was on 1
@@indydev1609 bread and butter was hard! Such an unexpected collab too with Grand Puba and Sadat. Definitely gonna have to throw that jawn on when I drive to work tomorrow!

First 2 Beans albums.... CLASSIC RocAfella albums
It's Mack daddy, young, scrappy (uh)
No, he ain't the OG gangsta (yes, I is)
Come on, don't test I kid
I firebomb cribs like Left Eye did
Notorious like that Bed-Stuy kid, big or small, you can get it
Dead wrong, like tryin' to brawl or strong-arm a midget,
bro i was now banging that joint.. Free's flow back in the day took getting used to, rhymes off kilter, i loved those street wars mixtapes
This should of been a 5 hour interview
Remix wit nelly was fire
When I’m on 95N and I got on 98.9 in Philly and this jawn come on I get mad animated as if it just came out. Here we r 20 years later and still breakin our neck to da track…..
Vlad did t know Free was in States P? 😂 and he was a DJ…
Mom's Praying is untouchable
Beans attitude in this interview explains his career lol
I love rock the mic part 1 and part 2 ft Nelly and freeway
Him. Not being finished got me mad
Def jam dayz I miss them
Beans knew Jay-Z was going to either ask to jump on the track or can I have that track 😂😂
Facts!
Ask?? It's all his. That's like Master P asking to get on a No Limit artist song.
would not have been any asking, that would have been the #1 single/track for Blueprint 2.
@@andremiller1566 jay was just an artist then. Dame was the brain that’s why he left. Nothing was his but as the big dog of course he could steal shit.
Keep on telling yourself that kid...
Dj vlad : Ah Ha
Everytime he finds something out
A lot of people think he took a jab at the late Biggie Smalls on that song - *_"I firebomb cribs like Left Eye did. Notorious like that Bed-Stuy kid, big or small, you can get it"_*
Not at all, Beans favorite Emcees are Biggie and Scarface… He was paying homage if anything
It was just word play
Huh?? Literally NOBODY thought that bruh! Wtf is you talking about? 🤣🤣🤦🏾♂️
Moving to New York in 2002 had to be crazy
Did Vlad just ask him if Freeway was in state property 🤦🏾♂️
"All of y'all need to one yo self"
Beans was smart for tucking that song. Jay would’ve definitely snatched that 😐
I remember seeing some behind the scenes footage of when Sparks threw a verse on that joint, and Free was tight! They were literally bouta fight over that situation! So that makes 2 Hit Records Sparks was snubbed from! Give it to me & Roc Da Mic!🤦🏿♂️😓
The Reason is a Classic!
That’s one of them joints that you’ll hear and it’ll take you back to 2002.
Beanie sigel nothin like it take a listen to it
the remix is hard too.
Nelly remixed it on nellyville. I wonder how that came about
Murphy lee has the best verse on the remix
@@terrellhubbard 😂no the fuck he doesn’t, nelly killed krs one on that track
vlad the goat bringing up memories
Roc da mic, that still iz a banga.
Guru tells this story. Beans and bleek was supposed to make an album together. Bleek likes to record real early and beans come to the studio late at night so it didn’t work. I think one night they was about to leave and go to a party and Jus Blaze made the beat in like 10 mins before they left out
vlad ask questions like he just running down their wiki page - never double taps on interesting knowledge he comes across that we never knew, like the reason album being rushed, im sure there’s some fascinating details to uncover there but nope he just keeps on scrolling
Can't believe it's been over 20 yrs of this shit
O&sparks caught a lot of bad breaks.. removed from half the songs.. stolen pub.. etc
Thought his In Da Club was poppin aswell, just a shame it had DJ Clue screaming all over it.
Beanie talk like he's whispering 😅😅 living legend
His voice fd up.
He lost a lung after getting shot
I knew dat
Because of being shot
Is it me or beanie reminds you of Lamar from The B.M F Series?
Roc the Mic didn’t have anything on What We Do. Not even comparable. And I Don’t Do Much was the best song on The Reason. It was Beanie Sigel to the T.
Man's world too
@@madddoggnogood1491 "Man's World" is absolutely the best song! After "Nothing Like It" of course! Followed by "Get Down"....Get Down is a lyrical masterpiece!
That man asked was they state Property before the movie😂 smh lemme interview beanie sigel it's over 💯
Vlad do that mop interviw. Day 19
Sigel 💯💪🏾
I Ain't Ya Average Cat..........
The reason was a game changer. That’s the album Kanye and just blaze got there start. Fun fact most of those beats on the reason no body wanted. In fact beans found just blaze beat cd in the trash can. Dame and hov didn’t like the directions young just blaze was going until beans got the beat cd from the trash and recorded songs.
The video was fire
Dame was dancing and have a blast

Roc the mic: Jay Z ft freeway 😂😂
I heard Roc the mic was originally Freeway and Omillio Sparks
Slide thru the hood in a caravan... I be around Ricans vida loca they all the toasters yeah still bang

The remix is better 💪🏿
I was just talking about him a few days ago I love this man❤️ always a real one 💯❤️ I’m just truly a fan💋💯
I remember they remixed that shit and Nelly dissed krs 1 on that lol
I got what it takes what rock the mic right.
I just wanna know if beans gon talk bout that song It’s on with him and jay
Sparks was on the remix
48 views in 3mins ouch lol
Vlad = Poser , when talking to rappers
U were one word away from roc the mic being a JZ song lol
Dame Dash Shot That Video "Roc The Mic"
Bro jay would’ve murder that beat i get it beanie
Surprise they didn't do a state property roc the mic remix but I see why they went with Nelly since he was at that time one of the hottest solo artist, his verse and Murphy Lee was good too, he dissed KRS-one lol what a great time in hip hop rocafella, shady/gunit, Nelly, ruff ryders, etc..also mixtapes at its best smh damn
If you was from NY, and you had Jungle Fever, you really had a thing for white chick robbing to Nelly's remix to Roc the Mic because she can't get enough of that Nelly. Fetish for me, that's for sure. Classic Record.
I wish vlad had got more into the formation of State P.. cuz a lot of artists we’re already signed it was PMW and Major Figgas not signing to Roc that really created State P
#1
Is Freeway State Property?? WHAT??????????
I would of bought that beanies Sigel and Memphis bleek joint album
They a underrated 1 2 punch....crew love, 1000 bars, who want what, my hood to your hood...that had some bangers b4 them state prop bols came in
