You can switch characters with spacebar, and if you switch in a small window after an enemy starts an attack with a yellow flash*, it will trigger a parry, and a special attack of the character you switched to. Red flashes before an enemy attacks means you cant parry the attack, only dodge. If you dodge an attack, you can counter-attack after as well, still being very rewarding. *You can dodge or parry yellow flashes.
