Casper taking a swing at me while I’m underneath him underwater, this also covers the myth that they can’t bite underwater, of course they can 😂. Now it might seem slow but this slow sweep is how they actually hunt for fish, the technique is to move slow enough to not cause an alarming disturbance and once close enough to feel prey the gator moves with speed and intent. This is how they hunt fish. I similarly move with slow but controlled actions to not instigate him. But does Casper know it me under him? I think so, but I also don’t think he really cares 😂. He will close his eyes underwater or put up his nictitating membrane (which limits vision) and rely solely on touch, utilizing his integumentary sensory organs to feel for prey. Pretty cool demonstration of his abilities and another emphasis that gators are not pets, he’s trained but not tame and I always have to be aware and careful.
