I almost fell for a covert narcissist but the victim mentality, negative outlook on the world and people in general, the fact that he would not take responsibility for his f*ups, did not want to look within and do any work to change his behavior ...like run and lock the door behind you, I don't care how good other things are about them.

All sob stories are not the same, maybe he did have shitty friends and shitty family. It took me 40 years to understand my mother was emotionally abusive and prior to that i chose friends like her. Distant, selfish, put me down but framed it as jokes, never helped but me helping them, never there when i was having a difficult time etc so shit does happen especially around middle age BUT this guys red flags are not have a stable job , living in shared accommodation and obviously calling her names. I have personal issues but i have my own business and own my own home. Half of my life is stable, if none of his lufe is stable thats called a f££k up

Seems you may have hypoxia which is low oxygen levels in blood, you have clubbed fingernails and tinnitus are signs of that. Could be anemia, living in high altitudes/low environmental oxygen or heart/lung issues.
