I had a lesson from my pro in Miami , Manny Sherman, and he made me do this exact drill! it improved my contact better than nothing else I have done in 30 years! great video Rob!
I have been struggling with flipping and as a result my left arm breaking down in the downswing and follow through for a long time. This drill and the thorough explanation of what happens when you lose the wrist angle has changed everything for me. Took it straight to the backyard starting short and within an hour hitting solid long shots that kept my left arm straight through impact. Have watched dozens of RUclips "tips" on flipping but NOTHING matches this for instruction. Rob walks us through it like a school teacher and we're in the 4th grade so it makes sense and we can go out and do it. Thank you sir!
omg mind blown...I was thinking about buying one or the other training aid used here. I got the precision impact as I am cupped wrist player...I can see already the change in my ball striking after 3 sessions....the hack motion is about $200, the precision impact ~120-150...highly recommend using the precision impact if you struggle with correct wrist set and proper wrist angles. Funny how the algorithm finally brought up your video after weeks of hunting for those using both
That's amazing. I'm so happy you found the video (or the video found you) and it was helpful for your issues. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!
Thanks Rob, another great video. I struggle to achieve enough wrist angle so this video is great. I've also just ordered the Precision Impact Trainer with your discount code which covers the delivery. Can't wait to get going with it. I would love to see you do a Driver video with the impact trainer!! All the best.
Excellent video Rob. Appreciate the personal look into how you strive to continually improve. Of course I love seeing these ideas applied to driver. It boosts my confidence with the big stick knowing these same feels apply. Thanks!
Rob - terrific video and clear instruction as to what to work on. On one of your other videos, you mentioned briefly “setting” the front wrist so that the wrist and hands are flat. This particular set of the front wrist is proven invaluable throughout the back and downswing is proving invaluable in improving my consistency. It was a relatively small point, but I think it can play a huge complimentary role to all your other training. Thank you!
I have been using the precision impact trainer for a month, i used your discount code. I love it. Thank you for another brilliant video and great wisdom.
Very helpful video for those of us that struggle with hooks. One specific w driver would most definitely be instructive as I believe more clubhead speed exacerbates a hook tendency (so this method is probably even more important- I can hear you saying it already Rob!).
I’ve said it before, great stuff! I have both training aids used in the video but not really understood the info produced from the Hack Motion and had not thought to try them simultaneously. (On the same or opposing arms). but I will as soon as I return home. I had good success with the mechanical wrist device but did not practice routinely. I will not leave it out of my bag going forward. Thought I’d practiced enough, but as you state, reinforcement is always essential. I, for one, would certainly like to see both devices in action with the driver. I’ve also considered sending you videos for analysis but have not quite convinced myself that I would gain the value needed to justify the expense. Perhaps you can convince me that I should. Thanks again for the great content, I really appreciate you and all the effort it takes to produce such content. Scott
Nice one Rob. I suffer from the same miss. Also happen to have a (full functionality) HM device, but never used it on my right hand. I'll try it with the stop hard . Like what you said about the pattern. HM themselves have built in some 15+ degree standard pattern or so between Top and Impact (as in one has move to towards 15 degrees more flexed with the lead wrist, which is a setting I haven't found yet how to manually reconfigure), but on my left wrist I see already a good result taking only half of the number of degrees off maximum towards impact, or occasionally even at the same position as setup. (in P4 my lead wrist is pretty stable between 1-5 degrees extended always, 10-15 degrees more flexed compared to address). So my HM drills always have like 100% streaks at P4, but only 10-20% at impact, which isn't exactly giving a feeling of reward even if I see great ball flights coming out.
This is exactly my miss on the golf course. For me I find that feeling like I'm doing a punch shot gets me where I need to be. Took me a while to embrace that swing thought because I presumed I was just embedding bad swing mechanics. That wasn't the case. Root cause was poor lower body rotation. When I use Hack Motion along with the punch shot feeling I see that my numbers are where they should be. With the driver I try to hit the tee under the ball (a hit down feeling) but my setup and ball position result in an upward strike and a nice baby draw. Definitely the case that different feelings work to correct different swing flaws. This video helps me with mine for sure.
Dammit Rob, yes, this is exactly what I'm dealing with with now. Exactly it. The Tour Striker took me to a next level, now fighting this issue. Purchased. Need to send you my next clips since I seem to have plateaued.
@@robcheneygolf1 Rob, perhaps some more clarity on what the release should be along with driver tips. Watching other vids there seems to be confusing info. I trust you.
This has been my standard miss since I started playing golf. I have never been able to hit a slice. I just setup for a miss to the left. I will now work on this drill. Thanks Rob.
Seems to me that left arm rotation may be a key to getting the right wrist angles correct at impact. It helps avoid a right wrist flip. Any thoughts? Also think hitting balls with right arm only swings is a cheat code for training the correct body and right wrist movements and coordination. P.S. - getting an online lesson from rob and then training by hitting punch shots (and not a net) with both the precision impact aid and the tour striker ball simultaneously has really helped me make big improvements in a short time.
You have commented in the past and during this video very favorably on the use of the “ Precision Impact “ training aid to develop and maintain right wrist extension . If you ( who is obviously very knowledgeable in the golf swing and is a very effective teacher) has trouble in transferring the correct right wrist extension from the “Precision Impact “ to your regular swing , what chance does the average golfer have . I have also noticed that the other side of the coin of right wrist extension is more body rotation . So should golfers practice both maintaining the right wrist extension and at the same time increase more body ( especially upper body ) rotation .
Rob, you said the trail wrist issue for you was due to some poor body movement(s). I can relate, but can you elaborate on what body movements are contributing, and how much of holding the trail wrist properly has a lot to do with getting the trail shoulder to zero? I've about concluded my issue is trail hip related and trail knee not straightening, but would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks and another great video!
With me the hit hard stop quick when used on the course works particularly well with hybrids and 5W. In fact it's the only way I can somewhat successfully hit these clubs, a more "normal" swing ends in me topping the ball 90% of the time. Whatever works, right?
I had a lesson from my pro in Miami , Manny Sherman, and he made me do this exact drill! it improved my contact better than nothing else I have done in 30 years! great video Rob!
Thank you, David!
Awesome video again Rob. You are by far the best source on RUclips, I sincerely mean that my friend. It’s not just the facts, it’s also the delivery.
I also loved to revisit that pineapple-swing…😉😂
Thanks, TK! Appreciate the support, my friend! 🙏🏻

So pleased that the video unlocked something for you! Thank you for taking the time to comment and share your experience with others! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Rob is the real deal. Since following him on RUclips I’ve had a hole in one and more rounds in the 70s than any other year and I’m 67!
That’s amazing! Well done!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You've just addressed my driver killer. Hackmotion device is on the way today. Looking forward to implementing these tips with it 😊
Nice! Hope you can get the results you're looking for.

I'll try and do a driver video with the PI soon.
Thanks Rob and I have that destructive left miss which drives me bananas. I would definitely love to see the video for driver. All the best!!!
I’ll work on that video 👍🏻
Rob, brilliant video. You were speaking to my ball flight “Kryptonite”. Great content as per usual.⛳️👍
Appreciate the support! 🙏🏻

This is my favorite channel, great instruction!
Glad you enjoy the video! 👍🏻🙏🏻

Yes, Rob, a similar video using driver would be fantastic.
Yes very interested in the driver similarities/differences. My ball flight misses are exactly as you've described. Thanks!
Glad to help!

Me too
Exactly my problem!!!!
Never slice anything
Would love to see a similar video related to the Driver. Snap hooks kill my score

Hi Rob, if you were to prioritize one of those training aids, what would it be? The precision impact or the hackmotion?

Like to see wrist aid used with Driver or 3 wood
Thoughts on ProSendr training aid?
Any thoughts on the Prosendr compared to the Precision Impact…both address the same issue.
I would be interested in seeing the driver video
Hack Motion and the Precision Impact Trainer... getting close to Tin Cup territory here LOL
That made me chuckle! 😂
I have the same issue but just seems to be with my driver. Will this help with driver???
Please make one with the driver…😎
1. Buy the Precison Impact Trainer
2. Listen to this man, you might learn something. I recently dropped my HC by 3 strokes.
Nice job!!! 👍🏻
