This video depicts shear plates being broken. Other Sanden PXE issues are that the splines in the shear-plate drive are torn to bits. The compressor does not turn anymore then. A lot of Sanden PXE's do not have centre nut. They have a centre bolt. This turns with the shaft if the splines are broken and are a major PITA to remove.
Same thing as happened to mine the clutch plate where the 3 torx hold it on have snapped off as not to engage it now. Only thing is acess is tighter on my touran 1.9 as the aux heater/pipe work is in the way. Lots more room on this golf.
Please, could you explain in other words how you managed to get the central screw out? I have the same problem, but I didn't understand the indications in the video (I'm Spanish) :( Thank you!
Thanks for the vid, problem on mine is the centre nut just spins, just cant get it out or tighten it up. The other three nut undo easy, theres just no way of getting that bolt out.Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thankyou.
MrSidiboots I’m having the exact same problem right now. I had to sheer Main bolt off but now the screw is still in the hole and I can’t get it out. I was told by a mechanic that a torque driver can undo them so you may need to just go to your mechanic and have them just loosen the bolt for you
No, it's not. At 4:48 the item on the bottom left ist the one he forgot to put back. It's not part of the new clutch. (I have a complete new one here on my couch). Compare the old parts with the new clutch in the video.

@@airtech9908 u mnie nie zauważyłem żadnych dźwięków dziwnych ale klima nie działa. Będzie to przyczyna ?? Gaz uzupełniony i chodziła może z dwa dni. Był wyciek ale zlikwidowany.

Theres 2 types of plates available. Tje other comes with the bolt where as this is for the nut version

No, this works does not involve disconnection of the pressure/gas lines.
If a compressor seems to be operating all the time, even if the button in the cab is off, could this indicate a clutch issue?

You needed to use a impact to spin it faster

It spins always because it is variable displacement compressor.
And you didn't even had to remove the pulley... Wow.

Can I ask when u put the new clutch back on u didn’t put the tin backing plate that u took off? Was this a mistake or it’s not needed?
Its all part of the new clutch assembly. The old one just fell apart when he took it off and looked like a separate part
