      I did as well. It's where all official business takes place. Raffensberger received the call there, the votes were counted and collected there, the public officials who were pressured and/or participated do their work in there, the electoral certification happened there and the Fake Electors all signed and presented the fake affidavits there. Okay college boy, here's a little info to set you straight:
      1) Judges don't "go after" people.
      2) Law Enforcement - Police and Prosecutors - investigate.
      3) There were many investigations well under way when Trump announced.
      4) It was evident at the time that he was announcing early to make it political and shield himself
      5) 2 years is not that long to investigate anything this deep and wide. RICO cases take years and years
      6) These investigations had to produce a much more airtight case because he's a former president, which means they performed much more due diligence to gather evidence and testimony locked in before charging.
      Hope that helps.

    The entire problem with this Georgia DA's hit job on DJT (right, wrong, or in-between) is why was it okay for Stacey Abrams's campaign when she & her people did the very same things they are accusing the Donald of doing, yet it its not if Trump did it? Where is the so called law applied, when it is not applied fairly or based on one's political party? This is why these charges I hope get thrown out the window, & why I am rooting for the Donald's team on this one. The only ugly issue that the government has to bring to the table & confront him over is the mishandling of the classified documents, that is the only so called crime I could see but then again the Presidential Records Act does give retired Presidents & their immediate staff legal protections when handling their own documents & a lot of sway with the National Archives. As for the Jack Smith Jan 6th case, there is no real case & the issue of the 5th Amendment could be brought up because DJT was tried with the second impeachment over that one & found not guilty by the Senate.

    • @jstokes
      @jstokes 10 месяцев назад

      hi! regarding Abrams' refusal to concede and attempts to challenge the results are distinct from the indictment that Trump is facing. There was no evidence that Abrams attempted to interfere with the outcome of the election. Trump, is facing charges for conspiring to change the result of the election. Legally there is not the same equivalence. As far as other cases, You are correct about the docs case, and the smoking gun of the Bedminster tape and the tapes of moving boxes, and more, means that he is in jeopardy of an obstruction charge, there. Re: other cases the NY hush money case will lose on appeal if convicted, being a novel theory. The Jan 6th federal case Smith will have to show "corrupt mind" by the former President. None of these indictments will be thrown out, and it really will come down to the jury in each respective case.

    • @chucklakeridge7944
      @chucklakeridge7944 10 месяцев назад

      Whoa, where to begin....
      1) The Abrams narrative was not a legal parallel. For starters, she didn't seek to invent votes or have various folks produce fraudulent documentation to certify her as Governor. I do not know of any laws she might have broken, but if she did then she should have been charged. Whatever else you've heard is probably false equivalence propaganda seeking to make a justifiable comparison to excuse Trumps illegal (allegedly) actions.
      2) The PRA was literally was created to require Presidents to turn over everything that is a Presidential Record. Classified Documents are governed by a separate set of laws as well, however anything official should be turned over to PRA, then, if deemed not official, can be returned. Classified Documents need to be returned when discovered, NARA should not have to asks, but if they do, the docs need to be handed over ASAP to protect our national security from incidental harm. Like showing them off to your golf buddies. Trump had lots of very sensitive documents, knew he had them, tried to say he didn't have them, had his attorney create a false affidavit to keep them, defied a subpoena and moved them, then had people hide them so the FBI would not find them. That's simply not okay in an era where Russian and Chinese spies are attempting to get whatever they can to capture our spies and defeat our systems. That alone should net Trump 10-20 years, as it would anyone else.
      3) Trump was not found "not guilty", he was simply not convicted by the Senate. Double Jeopardy does not include Impeachments, only Justice prosecutions. And further, he is charged under different laws for different acts under the Smith J6 case, so also not Double J.
      You seem sincere in your comment, that's why I decided to respond. I would suggest that, wherever you got the info you based your comment, you treat it as a specious source going forward.

    In my mind, if you're going to bring charges against a former POTUS, the evidence and legal basis must be absolutely overwhelming. Also, this occurred over 2.5 years ago. Why are the charges brought right when the presidential election primaries start and not earlier? I would have given it the benefit of the doubt if the timing wasn't so coincidental. "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck." Absolutely politically driven, which is not to say that Trump is guilty or not.

    • @lecannois
      @lecannois 10 месяцев назад +1

      And regardless, the SCOTUS is going to put an end to all these and quick as long as Trump's team can elevate it to the federal level OR constitutionality is in question.

      For one, he announced he was running super early because he knew trouble was coming, 2nd, if he wasn't running he'd still be charged. 3rd I'm sure you've seen or heard of investigating taking some time to collect evidence, witness interviews etc.... Mafia cases this happens all the time

      Political or not, the Law cannot be ignored. His "alleged" crimes were political, quite literally trying to become President despite losing. As far as Ducks go, Trump made this political. In this case, he has to be charged so as to not let it be political that he was NOT charged.
      He's also trying to subvert the justice system, of which he is running to be the Chief, so we gotta know if we're putting a criminal in charge of the FBI.
      The timing is irrelevant for many reasons, but like you say, the evidence has to be overwhelming, which means it takes longer to bring an air-tight case.
