I am a Terrone, born and raised in a small town south of Naples. The first time I smelled Terroni I took a leap into the past in that house of my grandparents, a peasant house where the fireplace was always lit and where the kitchen was always full of colors and smells that come from their gardens. Terroni is not a perfume for those around you but I think it is a perfume to be experienced in an intimate way. I think you have caught the right side of this perfume. Bravo Marcello!

My last name is Parisi my grandparents are from montemaggore belsito in sicilia !! Mr Parisi makes beautiful fragrances !!! Another beautiful fragrance i like that is in my top 5 now is invasion barbare by mdci, Claude the owner of mdci who commissioned many great historical perfumers !! He is a very nice passionate man who really embraces communication with people interested in his fragrances!! If you havnt tried mdci I highly recommend!!! God bless you!!!

This was my first niche fragrance ever (i know, not your usual 1st niche fragrance). To me, the opening starts with alcoholic note like whisky or cognac, earthly, sweet, musky notes and a bit of oud. It also has a bit of smoke in the opening. The drydown for me is amazing, it’s incense, burned wood, burned soil (in a good way) all the way. In the drydown warm spices also elevate and sweetnes is also there. At first I didn’t liked it but I slowly fell in love with it. It smells dark, mysterious but it’s also alluring. I don’t regret buying this, but to anyone who reads this and find my comment interesting, sample it first because it’s not for everyone. Great video.

I think you are nailing it when talking about Orto Parisi. Other reviewers seem to stick to the superficial aspects of each fragrance but you go even deeper and by doing so, reveal key layers to the surrealist Gaultieri's enigmas. The term "Terroni" IS empowering now that you have put it into perspective! If Signore Parisi's garden is the focus, the epitome of what he cultivated, like himself, is "Terroni".I love this fragrance the most out of the series and now I think I can appreciate it more. But it helps that Terroni as a perfume is a pure winner and an easy reach fragrance; it just resonates with many people that it doesn't take too much convincing.

Not that you asked 😊 BUT I struggled with today’s fragrance selection. I opted to take a long weekend : Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday without going to my office. Today, Friday, I planned to run errands and go to the gym before attending a surprise birthday party this evening. For some reason, perhaps due to the varied itinerary, I could not select a scent. That is until I thought of Terroni. We’ve had an unseasonably warm winter in New Jersey USA BUT is finally snowed and I am enjoying my cold weather frags. My God, immediately after spraying Terroni I was reminded of why I love this scent & why it is perfect for today. Had to re-watch your review AGAIN to better understand the allure of things. Thanks as always and have a great weekend!

Great review! It’s weird most people say this is beast mode and fills a room but for me it’s just a moderate sillage- long lasting fragrance like you said. I do wish it was a bit louder to be honest.

It's a requirement! BTW I love Napoli. This city I found to be raw, intense and so different to Rome. We went down for 2 days to explore Pompeii and the Archaeological Museum...such a memorable time for me. I need to return and spend more time there...soon!

Just bought some. I’ve been wearing it for a while now and the one thing that has been in the back of my mind has been the scent of burnt solder.
I was wearing this yesterday, and yes the smokey/burn scent is definitely part of the scent profile of this perfume.

The word wog was bandied around my family a lot, we are a mixture of Italian, Spanish, aboriginal, Eastern European and English Irish but it was a term of endearment for us and a lot of people we knew, we all had a very jovial, easy going Aussie attitude with each other and weren’t easily offended. They were the days.
Anyway I’m quite looking forward to trying this line of fragrances.
So you're an Aussie! Great to hear from other Aussies and yes, we now call ourselves 'wogs' too....it is a term of endearment and if anything it's a Badge of Honour. I also think 'how it's said' plays a big part on wether it should be offensive or not.

Fine review as always which struck a personal chord with me. I have a bottle of Viride on the way and couldn't be happier. Can't seem to find Megamare though here in stores. There are bottles on eBay and elsewhere. Just looking for the right price!
Congrats on Viride; totally love this one Fred (as you know already!) and I'm going to say that it will be an instant winner for you. Whereas Megamare I would recommend you test on skin....this one is polarising and as you know that first time I tested this one, I had to wash it off, it was that intense!

Terroni completes my Orto Parisi triad, which also includes Viride and Brutus. You were right Marcelo...Terroni compliments the other two fragrances I just mentioned very nicely. As I've said in the past I had no idea about Orto Parisi until finding your channel. Thanks again, this beast mode juice is amazing.

I started my adventure with the niche fragrances with black afgano, no more than 6 months ago. Being born in Napoli (yes, I am a terrone), Italy, I really wanted to own Terroni. I tried it and I loved it, especially in the opening. It’s probably due to my inexperienced nose, I found it in the dry down too similar to Black Afgano. Unfortunately I got the same feeling with Cuoium. I don’t feel like I need to own the three of them in my collection, but I will give them a second chance as soon I finish my BA

You'll find that in time all three will smell distinctly different and will enjoy each of them for their nuance. Congratulations for already being able to appreciate the Orto Parisi...normally I don't recommend this range to those new to niche (way too intense!!) but I'm excited for you that you can appreciate these masterpiece's❤️

In my experience i tried it for one time and i liked it a lot. For me it did feel like the scent faded quite quickly, but then when i woke up i smelled this intense and lovely amber. I started noticing that the fragrance has an amazing amber dry down. That alone makes me love that fragrance, because im the biggest fan of amber. Do you know other fragrances that are mainly amber?

Hi Marcelo, great introduction to this perfume as always, do you know if gualtieri will drop a new fragrance in 2022. I tested his latest creation cuioum, great leather scent.
Great question about a new one for 2022?? Need to keep my ear to the ground on this...who knows with Alessandro🤷🏽♂️ he moves to the beat of his own drum.

Is it similar to Amouage Interlude Man? Saw some similar comments on Fragrantica. I have Interlude and I don't know if I should buy Terroni.

To my nose; they are worlds apart. Interlude Man has a herbal/fruity opening between the oregano and pink pepper combo and then dries down into the incense qualities but retains these earlier notes.
Terroni opens like you're sitting by the campfire, smoky woods emerge confidently. It moves to a deep woods/oud touch but always smoky.
I would recommend that you test on skin and see for yourself.

My absolute favourite. Doesn't get me any compliments because it is not a people pleaser, and somehow that makes me like it even more. Its just a masterpiece, really smokey and somehow really sweet in a way too .
I have the unfair advantage that my wife loves this fragrance on me....so whenever I'm wearing it, I'm always getting compliments from her.
But as you mentioned, we wear perfumes because 'we' love them and it makes us personally happy....and yes Terroni falls into that category for me too.

Appreciate the ancestral perspective and your families lineage being tied to this fragrance. Getting down to the nitty gritty Terroni to me is a hot molten damp smoldering earthy lava flow that just devoured a sugar can field. It's rich, unique, smokie but not acidic. I think of it as smooth and rounded, nothing "peaky" in this one. It may not be a crowd pleaser as it's very unique but it pleases me and my Spouse. It has garnered compliments in the past. I dare say it's the King of the Line for the OP line. Looking forward to your what's ahead for you Marcel.
I love your description Steve!! Where I was getting all philosophical and psychoanalysing the motivation behind the perfume; you jumped in with the pure facts on the power of this fragrance. I love that you too are picking up the sugar note and yes, the lava flow has devoured a sugar cane field.
This too is the king of the line in the OP range for me; I find that I'm constantly reaching for Terroni

In terms of fragrances (oils, Extraits, ect) the arabs and middle easterners win in terms of fragrance historical roots/beginnings, both Frenchs and Italians gave it a more westerner feel and style!

You mentioned that you like 'fruity, woody and gourmand notes'....apart from 'woody' Orto Parisi does not believe in the other 2 😈
I would recommend to you Boccanera as one that you should test. The woods are very present but now with a slight oud intensity. It has a dark chocolate/cacoa touch but never goes to a gourmand or sweet note....personally it's gorgeous and wonderfully masculine but as mentioned, I would recommend that you test first.

Amazing description and my wife loves it on me too. I purchased a bottle with batch code number 08229 - production date August of 2022- I read on Fragrtantica that this batch is reformulated and the performance isn't as nuclar as it was in the past. I'm disappointed, I feel like I have finally found my soul fragrance but I missed out on the good batches. do you have any idea if the reformulation rumors are true?

I find the Orto Parisi’s need a full wearing to test properly so instead I tried bergamusk. I also sprayed megamare on a hanky and it scented my whole bedroom for a week (and going).
I’ll have to test this on skin. I visited the garden of spring store in sydney. Have you visited? Highly recommend. A sales assistant from there wears this fragrance to fashion school. The edginess suited her personality.

I have sixty niche house fragrances mostly parfums de marly creed amouage acqua di Parma roja Xerjoff. Im really intrigued about orto parisi in your opinion is it up there with the greats like maison Francis kurkdjian and roja dove

Great to hear from you @Farkenzawl. Yes, the Orto Parisi's aren't cheap but they last forever and are totally unique (compared to most perfumes out there).

I initially started my Niche fragrance journey with a House call Frapin.
They are a French based perfume house. They have a beautiful collection of different styles of perfumes. These are now complex, that will evolve from first spray through to the drydown. They’re good value for money being that they’re 100mls for around $220.
The only catch is that compared to Orto Parisi they don’t last as long. You will probably get around 5 to 6 hours from the Frapin range…. Hope that helps.
BTW, congrats on the new purchase, I would love to hear your thoughts once you’ve had a chance to use this a few times

Is it very similar to Boccanera? Saw some similar comments on Fragrantica. I have Boccanera and don't get any chilli notes there.
I don't believe that it is similar (other than the Oud in the base)....Terroni is more smokey woods; whereas Boccanera has more of a chocolate vibe to it

Is this worth a blind buy?
Hey there @Chemo...so first off, I'm not a 'blind buy' kind of guy. I totally admire you guys that love to do this; it scares me too much 👻
However, if you like deep smokey woods with a touch of sweet notes, then this fragrance is magic.
If you're able, I would recommend that you test on your skin first and see how this plays on you as sometimes the 'smokey' part can be a bit strong for some people (I like it; it's part of the character of this fragrance).

I bought this because of your video and damn the smell is too weak compare to megmare. Megmare I spray once and on my clothes I can smell it for a week and on my skin I can smell it all day but this one just vanished. Terroni is not that good

Yes, it doesn't compare to Megamare (I mean, not many things can!) but still Terroni is glorious....well at least to me it is

I like most creations of Gaulitieri, but this parfume gave me the worst experience of all scents ever! I am not native in English and I cannot even find the right words for this, but after 1hr I had to wash it away (which did not even help so much) because I almost had to vomit. Shows how subjective this whole hobby is. Definitely one of the strangest things I have ever smelled
I totally agree with you @Philipp Hortnagl that perfume is so subjective. Hey Marcelo . I just now received this bottle from UPS here at my job where I'm working outdoors...it's hot as fuck down here in South Florida ...but anyway I couldn't wait so I spritzed ONE spritz on my hand and it is like a let down ...damn.....will it get better ? This was a Blind Buy based on all this RUclips hype...I'm hoping my spritz that was like 25 minutes ago smells better later on today...my first reaction was that yes it does smell "earthy" but the red color led me to.believe the pungency of anything in the spiciness family would present itself ... Damn...this is what I get for doin an Uber costly blind buy.... 😢
Ok, off the bat, I wouldn't sweat it too much because this is a fragrance that you will fall in love with over time; so in other words don't flip it, hang on, you will fall in love.
Plus for starters this isn't one that I would recommend you use over any type of heat. It's a cool weather fragrance or as an evening fragrance. To my nose, the smokiness and woods play better in cold weather....otherwise in heat, it chokes you out a bit.
The other things is that I would recommend you spray on stomach and solar plex (2 sprays only) and don't breath it off skin. Let the sillage and projection do all the work.
Out of interest do you own any other Orto Parisi's? Or is this the first one? And yes, Blind Buying is dangerous business 🫣
