This song is such a great vibe! This song came out in 2017. Him and his wife have been together since 2015. They got married in 2018. I think this song could be about several people in his life. Maybe this song is about his ex that he left in Michigan when he moved away when he got his first record deal. If you really listen to the lyrics it sounds like he is talking about himself at times too. The chorus definitely sounds like it's about his ex though.
