When they went 'Woooo!', there were fans and critics alike wondering what that was all about....no one had ever done that. Well, at least not in the White Top 40 fare. "What's that all about?' my parents and teachers would say, 'It's silly'. Some even suggested it was dangerous.
Actually Little Richard had been doing that for years. One the little known secrets at the time was the Beatles were heavily influenced and big fans of US Black music. Even the few covers they did on their early albums demonstrates that. Lennon and McCartney were huge Little Richard fans. They were essentially giving back to the US the same thing they'd been listening to as they grew up in Liverpool. The Beatles made it OK to go 'Woooo!'.

That was the essence of “Beatlemania”! All they needed to do was take the stage and shake their heads and the girls would shriek. They just also happened to be amazingly talented as well. Great reaction.

The Beatles rule! For more live performances like this with the crowd going wild, check out their concert in Washington DC in 1964.. it was their first U.S. concert, and took place during their visit to America for their 3 appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show in February, 1964.

The release of this song is the biggest moment in the history of rock and roll....
The biggest act of all time with their signature chorus... "Yeah yeah yeah" .

That was a little piece of Beatlemania. There was a LOT more! Search RUclips for clips of "Beatles at Shea Stadium" (1965) where it was the largest audience they had at that point, and as you can hear the sound was deafening! LOL! It was such an event a 50 minute documentary was made about it a few months later. Since you've done a couple of early hits, here's a few more to try: "Can't Buy Me Love", "I Feel Fine", "A Hard Day's Night" and "Eight Day's A Week". ✌️😎

Beatlemania! One of the most important cultural phenomena in post-war Western world.
Can you believe that this is the same band that a couple of years later would break the rules of popular music by exploring an incredible variety of styles and sounds? Is it possible that this boy band wrote some of the most sophisticated and beathtaking songs ever? I've been listening to these guys forever yet I still find it shocking!

Yes,that's how the Beatles world 🌎was back then, girls screaming uncontrollably which led to them deciding not to tour anymore after 1966(that freed them up tho to create their masterpiece- Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band)

So funny being reminded of "beatlemania," since I was only 12 when that kicked off... By the time I listened to Rubber Soul the Beatles had stopped touring (for the obvious reasons revealed in this video!), and fans where a tad more serious about actually listening to a much more profound set of messages.
    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!!!

This is a great early Beatles performance in 1963 and the beginning of Beatlemania which would hit us here in the US just a few months later. This is little league Beatlemania compared to what was to come after they hit the States in February 1964 when it went global 🌎🌍.I saw The Beatles live in September 1964 for my sixth birthday and it was incredible. Best birthday surprise gift ever and one of my fondest memories in my life. Check out The Beatles live at Shea Stadium, 1965 and you will see Beatlemania at its craziest. I feel that it's the greatest concert video EVER ! The Beatles could not hear a single note they were playing but yet they were flawless. Check it out.

Enny, I think you have Beatlemania. They got the falsetto "woooo" from Little Richard. Great reaction.

It is so interesting how a song can get 12 to 15 year old girls to go insane. The people who ran those concerts complained how many girls passed out or peed in the stands. Just listen to screaming!

Watch the movie HARD DAYS NIGHT... even more of these all-screams all-torture audiences.
