They were on top of my list! I did a ton of research before I got them, and they live in a big comfortable cage and get to fly around the house. They spend time with me and love receiving attention. Budgies all the way!

I have a budgie . He was a Xmas gift from my grandson , 2018 . He's about 16 - 18 months old . By the way Marlene my grandson loves your videos and he loves Vinny . So he named the budgie Vinny . I love him so much . He's very smart , talks and Love to chase the kids around the house . Engaged not cage is what Vinny loves . He's out all day . Only when it's time to sleep, I need to go out or if we have company ,depending who it is then he'll be in he's cage . He's my baby . ❤😘 . I couldn't agree more! Budgies are not "starter birds." They have just as much intelligence and personality as a flashy macaw (no offense to Rocky, I love it when he's included in the videos and I still say "wow" every time he does his proud bird! :) ). Watching this video made me realize how much I still miss my childhood budgie, his voice, and his antics, decades later. So happy for Pablita, she scored big time!

My budgies fly around the house several hours a day. They are so full of personality! I can't imagine leaving them caged all the time. I haven't seen this UTUBER b4. I'll check her out. And Marlene, you did the right thing. Peblita will be happier in a hiuse with smaller birds.

When your vid of flying to take in a new bird popped up right after this one in my notifications, I did not put it together. 😂🙈 Fly Honey the Cockatoo says Britney Spears always gets a cockatoo to dance! Every. Single. Time. Lol. And some great tips in this! Disrupting flight pattern to prevent take off... yep, we do that too! Lol. Loved the pep talk Marlene gave. She’s already famous so she arrives with her Hollywood resume. Lol. Can’t wait to see this journey ladies. Both of you are so good at training, this is bound to be awesome. I hope we get to see updates! And yes, enrichment and engagement for small birds is just as important. I’ve always done better with larger more feisty birds, I learned long ago that was my special skill. And pulling out their hidden talents and using that to motivate training. Fly Honey the cockatoo’s ballet training motivates her in so many ways “dancers always keep their bodies healthy, so eating this healthy dinner is super important for your dance career!” Or “I know you don’t like baths but dancers always take care of their bodies...” That stuff works with birds cuz they’re smart & as we learned, they have dreams & ambitions too! With Tupeck the Rapping Parrot, language learning can help his rap/music career so he’s motivated to learn Spanish & Hebrew! And don’t cry Marlene. I think you couldn’t have found a better bird mama here. I’m a fan of her channel. Her training skills are soooo beyond solid for her age, it’s amazing to watch her work with birds! You 2 ladies will be great friends in this journey together & you’ll get to see your baby on her channel!

I saw Live Laugh Birds video first, im quite the fan of her and her care and respect for parrots. I didn't know she would be getting her new bird from YOU! She was so excited and nervous, giggling like that. Im very happy for the both of you, she is a good kid with a very pure relationship with the little parrots. Pablita is in great hands!

I live in regional Victoria and we have a flock that spends a lot of their time around my family’s house. During summer we hear a lot of noises from the cockatoos if a fire is nearby. They are very amazing animals and one of my favourite national birds.
What a pleasure this was to see Publita find such a wonderful home. I've had budgies all my life, and used to have an indoor aviary for them, along with two cockatiels and one Crimson Rosella. This was long ago, for now, I'm a bit too old ta take proper care of a flock You have helped me not to muss them so much.

Are you based in LA? I use ACCESS in Culver City, they're 24 hours and have an exotics team at the ready. There's also the service we used for Brando's gender reveal; they provide information on all sorts of diseases your bird may have or be susceptible to: "Animal Genetics" in Tallahassee Florida - they'll require a blood sample you can get from your vet, or in lieu of blood they'll take a freshly pulled (not molted) feather.

I have 2 (ENGLISH, not Australian mind you there is a difference in character!)budgies and I got to say, my goodness are they present. They LOVE to make sure that they get what they want when they want it. And my goodness are they smart. like when they hear even the movement of the millet box they stop doing what they were doing and look at me. I managed to train Bino to perch and recall and he is a lovely cheeky boy. Chookie is so shy towards humans, but goodness he thinks he is the kingpin in town. We recently transferred them to a cage where the roof can open up so they can sit on top. The second we wake up/ get home they will scream till we open the roof and they'll sit on the top perch and just happily chirp till it is time to sleep. I don't know why I am typing all of this. Before these two I've never had birds, but these two are the cutest toddler-like boys and I wish I was more educated about birds when I was younger. IMO birds (and budgies probably even more because they are more skittish) teach you a lot of values as a kid, patience, love, being careful, aware and not demanding. And really not only budgies need awareness but also Canaries are really smart and need the freedom to fly around. A lot of people in my surrounding have them "Because they are simple, sing beautifully and don't take up much ***SPACE***" There no better thing than having your pet showing you affection, for birds to fly around in a wide space, for a dog 'n horse to run in an open field... Not stuffed away in a corner for just your own pleasure. #Smallbirdawareness
Just discovered your channel it’s so amazing!! Story time…I adopted a Parrotlet and he is so darn sweet and loving, I looked up everything I could on proper bird care! I feed him veggies and some seeds and some pellets. He gets two hours out of the cage everyday. I even looked up how difficult they might be and I was like, “I can definitely handle a parrot!” He’s also my very first pet bird and I’ve had a fascination with birds ever since I was was 8 years old. (I’m college age now) I even wanted to become an ornithologist. But I guess what videos really couldn’t prepare me for was what living with a parrot is really like. I’ve had him for 6 months now and I love him to death…but he is really high maintenance and I know videos presented that….however I was just too confident in myself to really THINK about what living with a parrot is really like. He deserves someone who is very skilled and will give him even more attention and now I feel extremely guilty about wanting to surrender him because I love him so much! But I’ve stepped back and really thought about how stressed I’ve been with his care and making sure he has the top quality care he deserves and I found that I’m just not cut out for how much work he is. What should I do?? I feel like such a terrible person

I’ve always done better with larger more feisty birds, I learned long ago that was my special skill. And pulling out their hidden talents and using that to motivate training. Fly Honey the cockatoo’s ballet training motivates her in so many ways “dancers always keep their bodies healthy, so eating this healthy dinner is super important for your dance career!” Or “I know you don’t like baths but dancers always take care of their bodies...” That stuff works with birds cuz they’re smart & as we learned, they have dreams & ambitions too! With Tupeck the Rapping Parrot, language learning can help his rap/music career so he’s motivated to learn Spanish & Hebrew!
And don’t cry Marlene. I think you couldn’t have found a better bird mama here. I’m a fan of her channel. Her training skills are soooo beyond solid for her age, it’s amazing to watch her work with birds! You 2 ladies will be great friends in this journey together & you’ll get to see your baby on her channel!

I saw Live Laugh Birds video first, im quite the fan of her and her care and respect for parrots. I didn't know she would be getting her new bird from YOU! She was so excited and nervous, giggling like that. Im very happy for the both of you, she is a good kid with a very pure relationship with the little parrots. Pablita is in great hands!

I live in regional Victoria and we have a flock that spends a lot of their time around my family’s house. During summer we hear a lot of noises from the cockatoos if a fire is nearby. They are very amazing animals and one of my favourite national birds.

What a pleasure this was to see Publita find such a wonderful home. I've had budgies all my life, and used to have an indoor aviary for them, along with two cockatiels and one Crimson Rosella. This was long ago, for now, I'm a bit too old ta take proper care of a flock You have helped me not to muss them so much.

Are you based in LA? I use ACCESS in Culver City, they're 24 hours and have an exotics team at the ready. There's also the service we used for Brando's gender reveal; they provide information on all sorts of diseases your bird may have or be susceptible to: "Animal Genetics" in Tallahassee Florida - they'll require a blood sample you can get from your vet, or in lieu of blood they'll take a freshly pulled (not molted) feather.

I have 2 (ENGLISH, not Australian mind you there is a difference in character!)budgies and I got to say, my goodness are they present. They LOVE to make sure that they get what they want when they want it. And my goodness are they smart. like when they hear even the movement of the millet box they stop doing what they were doing and look at me. I managed to train Bino to perch and recall and he is a lovely cheeky boy. Chookie is so shy towards humans, but goodness he thinks he is the kingpin in town. We recently transferred them to a cage where the roof can open up so they can sit on top. The second we wake up/ get home they will scream till we open the roof and they'll sit on the top perch and just happily chirp till it is time to sleep.
I don't know why I am typing all of this. Before these two I've never had birds, but these two are the cutest toddler-like boys and I wish I was more educated about birds when I was younger.
IMO birds (and budgies probably even more because they are more skittish) teach you a lot of values as a kid, patience, love, being careful, aware and not demanding.
And really not only budgies need awareness but also Canaries are really smart and need the freedom to fly around. A lot of people in my surrounding have them "Because they are simple, sing beautifully and don't take up much ***SPACE***"
There no better thing than having your pet showing you affection, for birds to fly around in a wide space, for a dog 'n horse to run in an open field... Not stuffed away in a corner for just your own pleasure.

Just discovered your channel it’s so amazing!! Story time…I adopted a Parrotlet and he is so darn sweet and loving, I looked up everything I could on proper bird care! I feed him veggies and some seeds and some pellets. He gets two hours out of the cage everyday. I even looked up how difficult they might be and I was like, “I can definitely handle a parrot!” He’s also my very first pet bird and I’ve had a fascination with birds ever since I was was 8 years old. (I’m college age now) I even wanted to become an ornithologist. But I guess what videos really couldn’t prepare me for was what living with a parrot is really like. I’ve had him for 6 months now and I love him to death…but he is really high maintenance and I know videos presented that….however I was just too confident in myself to really THINK about what living with a parrot is really like. He deserves someone who is very skilled and will give him even more attention and now I feel extremely guilty about wanting to surrender him because I love him so much! But I’ve stepped back and really thought about how stressed I’ve been with his care and making sure he has the top quality care he deserves and I found that I’m just not cut out for how much work he is. What should I do?? I feel like such a terrible person
