Police Multi-Agency Checkpoint in Blackpool - “You Can’t Film Here!”
On a rainy morning in the South Shore area of Blackpool, I came across a multi-agency vehicle checkpoint involving police and other enforcement officers carrying out roadside inspections on vans and commercial vehicles.
As usual when a camera appears, reactions were mixed. Some officers were perfectly reasonable and acknowledged that filming in public is lawful, while others seemed less happy about a member of the public documenting what was happening.
During the visit I was told to move away from the checkpoint area due to “health and safety”, even though the operation was taking place in a public car park with no clear barriers or restricted access. This led to a tense exchange with one officer who believed I was interfering, while I maintained that I was simply observing and filming from a public place.
Later in the video another officer explains their concerns about vehicle movements and safety around the checkpoint, showing how different officers can have very different approaches when dealing with cameras.
You’ll also hear mention of a CPN (Community Protection Notice) which the officers say has been issued previously - raising questions about how authorities sometimes respond to filming in public.
This video shows the reality of public accountability filming - sometimes professional, sometimes confrontational, but always documenting what happens.

You can appeal a Community Protection Notice (CPN) by applying to a Magistrates' Court within 21 days of receiving it. Grounds for appeal include that the behaviour did not occur, the notice is unreasonable.
I havent recieved one lawfully has to be served and b4 a cpn a cpw must be lawfully served

VOSA are useless -my interactions with them over 30 yrs driving HGV an smaller is they dont understand axle weights or distribution of loads in a trailer.theve zero clue about LIVE loads -eg ones that move-fluids in tanks -i even got pulled by a vosa prick 4 years ago on the slip M4 into Bristol with a full load of fuel -petrol and diesel, routine stop i know the place as does every other HGV guy an lass out there-he looked about 12 yrs old totally out of his depth thought the tank was one huge barrel --it had Sainsburys on the side btw -no clue about partitions or about locking live loads to stop slosh/movement --did they really f..kin think that a multi billion pound company was going to send me out in a dodgy lorry--sorry rant over -i f..kin hate vosa --ya hit a nerve with this sorry fella --cup of tea walk the dog time. --great channel btw.
