I was one of the Cast Members on the train in the Disneyland portion ;) It was really awesome to be part of the celebration - especially since my grandfather was an electrician on the build of this attraction at the Park in 1965, after it was shipped West from the World's Fair in New York. I had my grandpa's photo pinned inside my tee shirt as I rode on the train and sang the theme song during the broadcast... finally living my dream of being a Disney Cast Member, because of the small world my grandpa opened up to me as a child.
This was my Dad's favorite part of Disney. He walked around the house for years singing this song until his creator took him home. You can bet he's up there singing along today!!!! I love and miss you, Dad.

When the Sherman brothers wrote this song I bet they had no idea it would be sang around the world 50 years later! What an incredible achievement for them and for the entire Walt Disney Company. Simply amazing!

The Filipino dolls of hongkong disneyland's Its a Small World have a tarsier, some sampaguita and a dragonfly. I hope the It's a Small World would make the Philippines recognizable by adding its natural sites like the Banaue Rice Terraces or the tubataha reef, the historical sites like the old houses of Vigan or festivals like the santacruzan or a fiesta with some Filipino folk dancers or the everyday lives of ethnic tribes like the manobo weavers.
