Fairfield Middle School Basketball Courts Ribbon Cutting - June 23, 2022

Henrico County officials celebrated the opening of four new basketball courts outside of Fairfield Middle School. The asphalt courts, which are open to the community during non-school hours, feature LED sports lighting, colored acrylic surfacing, plexiglass backboards, security cameras and bleachers. They’re built to the same dimensions as courts used in the NBA, WNBA and NCAA.
Varina District Supervisor Tyrone Nelson predicts the courts will help Henrico become an “outdoor basketball mecca” but says their main purpose is to serve the county’s youth.
