    Tips for your makeup:
    1. Start with earthy and neutral tones and explore shimmery shades on top
    2. Practice shadows, eyeliner, and brows, on a day that you DON’T have to go out. If you’re doing it for the first time it could stress you out and make it come out worse.
    3. Learn to do your top lashes first and after a while go with your lower lashes.
    4. Look for tutorials on face shapes, your right colours, eye shape, and contouring. You’ll find where you fit better in those categories and it will be easier to work from there.
    5. Use dark colours in the crease or outer corner of your lids, medium shades in your mobile lid, and lighter shades in your inner corner.
    6. Get a rounded puffy brush to blend.
    7. Start with a single colour gradient for your shadows and then start experimenting.
    8. Have FUN. And don’t let anyone tell you you cannot do makeup. I used to get put down by my “friends” at the time and I never gave up and now I get compliments about my makeup everywhere I go.
Disclaimer: I’m not a professional I just grew up watching my mom do her makeup and then I got obsessed with Nikkie Tutorials lol.

Girls, let me make this clear. Giving into another person whether it be emotionally, sexually, etc does not GUARANTEE that they will care about you more or love you more! The only thing that matters in life is that you are happy and that when you look back on your life you did the best you could for yourself. Don't compromise your peace for acceptance of another person🥰

ally girl, you do NOT sound ungrateful or silly or anything like that at all when talking about how anxiety can make great things in your life feel like they're not worth it or like you just wanna get them over with. not only we know you appreciate having these opportunities but also anxiety is a tricky lil bitch and we learn how to deal/treat it because it gets in the way like that. I hope that maybe as time goes on and you keep getting the recognition and opportunities you deserve that the anxiety starts to leave alone to enjoy it ❤️

To the virginity conversation I would like to add, because it is a thing that me and my friends would have liked to know earlier: It is completely normal to not be able to "lose your virginity" (aka penetration) the first time. For some people it will be easier, uncomfortable yes, but easier, but some people might require months of trying with their partner. It is absolutely normal, don't think you have to force it to happen because that is how some people end up having extremely painful first times. Be patient.

Just a reminder to anyone not using protection EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.... Even if you feel certain that the person isn't able to impregnate you or pass an STI, HPV is SO incredibly common! I contracted it the first time I had sex and tho it can go away on its own, I ended up developing cancer. The guy I was with was not sleeping around a lot from what I knew and had no idea he was carrying it. It's a big risk that men give very little thought to. Please be careful!

    • @oda_margrethe
      @oda_margrethe 5 месяцев назад

Yes! It is extremely important to take precautions. In addition to using condoms (please do!!) there is a vaccine available that can help protect against HPV infection, and I wish I had understood more about it and taken it in my teens. My mom didn’t know enough about it herself, so at the time we got an offer for a free vaccine program at school, she didn’t put me up for it, believing that I would never choose to have unprotected sex. The thing is, I never chose to have unprotected sex but ended up in that situation anyway. I’m so sorry you ended up with cancer from HPV, I hope you are doing better and that your treatment has proven effective ❤ Best of wishes!!

    • @moonchild8478
      @moonchild8478 5 месяцев назад +4

Thank you for this comment!! It's so important and I feel like even if we often get to hear "always use protection", we still think twice - I've had a few sexual partners and the last time a guy asked if he should use a condom and I was like "yeah I'm not taking the pill" and my brain was only thinking about not getting pregnant. But it's SO IMPORTANT to think about contractions, and I feel like without a story such as yours, people don't really realize how essential it is
If you feel like you want to make it for the guys sake cause he keeps pressuring you into sleeping without a condom: RUN!

They're skinnier & smaller. (I still can't get a super in lol.) Also, try inserting slightly at an angle - not straight in/back. All uterus are not the same lol. Mine's tilted & I have insert to insert at an angle. ↗️ I only use lights & just chg more often (prob good to do anyway.) Good luck! No pressure if not for you tho.✌️

As a pelvic floor therapist (or physio as Aussies say), I applaud you for using the microwave vs oven analogy and emphasizing that s3x should never be painful. I work with patients everyday for painful intercourse and women who think something is wrong with themselves because they can’t org*sm with penetration alone. I would encourage everyone to explore their own bodies and know what they like and don’t like. If you’re expecting the other person to just know, you’ll be sorely disappointed. Most of my patients are shocked to find out that the nerve endings for pleasure are primarily on the outside (clitor*s instead of inside). And if you have pain, don’t just push through see a pelvic health physio/PT. :)

Biggest life lesson I have learned:
See the joy in the small things. Walking home from the party so late the sun is already rising a little, but hearing the birds sing and chipper. That made me so happy. So now I'm looking for those moments, because they can just bring joy to me with no harm. Just pure lil happiness.

Thanks Ally! i just wanted to add on to your discussion of consent and say this does not just apply to s3x! Your partner should always be looking for a hell yes during every part of intimacy. If you don't feel comfortable kissing or touching you can say no. Also you can change your mind even if you say yes at the start. The basis of any relationship is open and healthy communication.

The best life lesson I’ve learned is that how someone else treats you says a LOT about them and nothing about you: if someone treats you badly or doesn’t put effort in for you it is not a reflection on you or your value: it took me a lot of shitty friendships , bad boyfriends and toxic workplaces to realize this but at the end of the day the right people and things will make you feel valuable and you won’t have to fight for it.

another thing about body image that I've heard someone say is that we as a culture focus so much on the one thing we did not pick-our looks. learning to love the way you look is something you can pick. appreciating who you are is also something we can pick. you can change your body but ultimately how we look is how we look. remember to love yourself 💕

I’m an oldest sister and just needed to stop by to say you crushed this, Ally. So much good advice to hold onto here. also, wanted to chime in on the pads vs. tampon question. I’m in my mid 30s now and still prefer pads. And I spent my entire teens and 20s feeling like a weirdo loser for having that preference. But guess what, all: It truly doesn’t matter! Go with whatever you feel best doing! It literally does not matter as long as YOU are comfortable. And if you have friends who make fun of you for your preference, they are not your real friends.

    • @starbucksmocha88

Yes same!! I wish that there wasn't such a stigma about using pads as if it's somehow "dirty" or something. Girls in high school always acted like tampons were the only way to go and you were gross for using pads. 🙄
Since my 20s I've been using cloth pads, better for the environment, come in cute patterns, way more comfortable to wear, and also I don't get recurrent ph imbalance issues so it's a win on all counts :D

One thing I heard about normalizing taking medication for Mental Health was that we would never demean someone for using toothpast to brush their teeth. Thats medicine and its not "natural" (most times) of a product. Naturally our teeth shouldn't even be "that" white. So why would we/do we do that to others who take medicine to keep their brain and body safe and well. Our brains are also JUST another organ in our bodies. Sometimes our organs need help and dont work properly or as well as they should. We take medication to help those organs. Just like the brain, we need to be able to take medications to help it. Not make it a moral,or stregnth, or selfworth aspect when its just taking medicine to help your organ out 🙂
    Loved this video! 💙

I didn't have sex until last year (at age 23) when I was in my first romantic relationship. I know it's hard with how much emphasis we put on sex in society, but really just try to take your time and do it when you're ready and find someone you are comfortable with. Also I completely agree that it will improve after your first time as you learn more about your body and your partner's body. At least that was the case for me :)

as an addendum to the toxic shock bit: sleeping with tampons is not any worse than having them in during the day, it's the number of hours that's the problem. most people don't sleep much longer than the time limit but almost everybody forgets to change their tampon immediately before and after sleeping. also it hurts to try and take out before it's full so people skip even when they do remember.
so the sleeping recommendation is the safest bet and something promoted to teens bc they are less diligent and very dumb about risk. also never a bad idea to vary your methods so you don't overdo any one thing.

Something about girls talking to girls about ‘girly’ things makes me so happy because they’re all so stigmatised in todays world even if it’s all human natural things, I had to figure out a lot on my own as a pre-teen and still do now, because my sisters are so much older than myself and my mum is not one of the mums easy to talk to, and because I’m seen as the ‘baby’ they’d never imagine half of the stuff happening in my life is happening because I just don’t tell them much. But videos like this find stuff easy and natural to talk about which is how it should be because it’s just human!!

you were SO real in this video. the feeling you described, of getting anxiety simply for the fear of getting anxious... when you said that, i teared up, because up until now, i felt like such a freak for feeling this. you described something i feel like no one ever did before. seriously never stop doing these videos - or any video, for that matter. you are so important to the internet!

I wish I'd had this type of thing when I was a teenager/young adult. All we had were magazines like Cosmo and Allure and you can imagine the type of advice they were giving in the 1990s/2000s 🤨 You have great advice and it's something I may be borrowing when my kids start asking these types of questions.

this is so real. having the right person to share my first time with should've been my priority. also saying yes while drunk is not consent even if you would've said yes sober. there are people who will push their luck with you while drunk and might try something you're not comfortable with. finding the right person makes such a difference tho, like i never appreciated how bad i had had it until being with my current boyfriend, when i felt i could ask him to stop if i needed ad that i wasn't feeling judged at all by him. and the UTI thing is too real, do not fall asleep ladies you will regret it!!

I'm a 31yo bisexual from France and I would've loved to have this kind of video when I was a teenager. Especially everything about teenage boys and first time sex. My two big lessons in life are "be yourself and the right persons will come to you" and how freeing independence feels like. I'm aware that not everyone may be able to do so, but I truly believe that everyone should at least live alone once in their live for a year. It teaches you so much about yourself, about what you like and don't like and it truly teaches you how to listen to and love yourself

I appreciate your candidness in this video, I’m sure this will help a lot of people. ❤
I would like to also chime in and say that it is really important to set clear expectations or boundaries when entering into an intimate relationship. I was an adult when I first was intimate with someone, and even then I found it very difficult to get my boundaries across. It made me feel unheard and uncared for. I realised afterwards that I will not put myself in that situation again.

As someone with no big sister (or any sisters for that matter) your videos really help me so much ❤
Since you were talking about anxiety I thought about something similar to some of your experiences. There was supposed to be this fun group work day at school a couple years ago and the anxiety for me leading up to it was so stressful. I HATE group work and I knew the people I was working with weren’t going to do anything which stressed me out so much cause I knew I was going to have to do everything and the people in the group have said really rude stuff in the past to me before. I started having the biggest mental breakdown I’ve ever had, the night before (crying so much and my heartbeat got so fast and I could barely breath) and so I didn’t go because of how much anxiety it was causing me. I felt so stupid the next day and I didn’t understand why it was such a big deal to me and why it stressed me out so much. So thank you for making me not feel alone in that sense ❤❤

Thank you so much for sharing about your anxiety 💛I'm unable to work with my disabilities and feel so bombarded by the idea of never letting it win or stop me. But sometimes an opportunity or even a seemingly basic activity will cause so much anxiety that the elevated heart rate and breathing issues especially will impact everything else. We deserve to listen to and respect our bodies, and don't deserve external or internalised judgement when it means we don't meet expectations or do what's "normal".

I love that you don't say rules for your first time like "you need to be dating that person for X month" or something else. Just that they respect you, your body and your choices.
I was quite the late bloomer and my first time was with a guy I had intense feelings for, but we never dated (also due to circumstances like his mental health and our distance). It was just a one-time thing and it was magical, I never regretted it and I truly wanted it in the moment and am glad we share this experience.
Sometimes I feel like people judge me because I wasn't in a relationship or truly in love with the person and it really bothers me that people try to make me feel bad about something I have no negative feelings toward.

I’m a boy in Utah and I had a lovely time listening to this. Truly such a wonderfully wholesome chat ☺️
Life advice: Do what you love and love what you do. Work to live do not live to work.
Momento mori, carpe diem, in omnia paratus (iykyk 😉)
Purpose of life: Enjoy the passage of time.
I live in Utah, Roe v wade being overturned truly was such a disheartening day, I’m kind of sorry that was part of your vacation experience. That was a weird and sad day for me, I was with my family - My aunt saw the news and said “thank god, it’s about time.” I asked her if she thought there should be exceptions, for things such as SA, or missed miscarriage (she said she’d never heard of that), and it ended up coming down to “the Supreme Courts job is to interpret the constitution and they interpreted it correctly.” When I asked her if she thought women should have rights since they aren’t mentioned in the constitution at all she said she wasn’t sure. It was really weird…to be a guy… and be arguing with a woman about women’s rights to bodily autonomy, and all I could think about were my friends who were women and have to walk in the world differently from that moment forward. Utah is more on the extreme side as well which is infuriating.
That being said, if you ever come back and need someone to recreate some HSM moments for a video… I am ready😂

    LIFE CHANGING EYESHADOW TIP:
use concealer as a base and set it with a loose setting powder. Just apply a small amount over the entire lid, don’t feel like you need to press it in too much. Your eyeshadow will apply so smoothly over it and be soooo much easier to blend, I can’t believe I ever did my eyeshadow without this step! Hope this helps someone 🤗💖
