From my experience of practising Aikido and having been attacked once in the street I can tell Nodotsukiage is one of the most effective techniques out there.

Awesome! I cannot emphasize the 100% follow through on both parties enough, I gave up dealing with critics of what we are doing, because they waste our time, if they really wanted to know, they come and learn as we did, otherwise, they stay away from us where they re safe, in their Name Brand Schools or behind their keyboards! I stopped entertaining their comments years ago and the stupid, "What if's" Good job Sensei Lenny, we waste so much time with them and we need to focus on the next generation of students so we can start a new legacy and standard which would save their lives!

I am glad that you explained the function of ukemi, because you see a ton of people commenting on how Aikido is "fake" or whatever. I think that is one of the biggest misconceptions of it. I can go outside and do a front roll on the cement if I wanted to (because I learned how in class) an attacker is just going to eat it. I have seen it, and it's pretty ugly lol. But oh well, they caused it to happen.
    Great video Sensei.

Hey Sensei, I hope we get to see some more great videos from you. Your training has totally transformed my aikido for the better! You're brilliant! Forget the naysayers who rip on aikido. Water off a ducks back. Just do your brand of Aikido. That's why you have such a huge fan base, cuz it works and it's legit! For the MMA pussies out there, yes; if I had to fight in an mma ring under their rules and system, I'd get whipped. I'm not mma. But on the street, with no rules? I've fought these douche bags using your techniques. THEY FUCKING WORK! So thank you Sensei Sly and we hope to see more videos from you soon. Thank you!!!!

nodotsukiage is looking juicy ! the ukemi for this is so hard sometimes.. I'm always unable to set my feet quick enough, but I suppose that's the entire point of the technique!!

Kevin you gotta have cat like reflexes to take fast Ukemi. like I said the second nodotsuki is applied you have to respond quick pivot and turn with your hips not with your upper body to take Ukemi.

Great explanation on ukemi . I think it can be harder to be a good uke than to learn the techniques.

Good explanation. I think in other martial arts they reach more towards the 100% through competition.

Lenny Sly. Please reply my comment.
Recently I was trying an Tenshin Irimi Nage at the dojo.
I tried my best to take him down by the neck. I tried to push through straight in with my whole arm. But it didn't work.
He stiffened up and resisted. and I can't take him down.
Whats wrong with my technique? Please help me. I seriously need your help. Thanks

THE ROGUE WARRIORS - Where Warriors are FORGED I didnt ask him to attack. I just asked him to stand straight.
He was just standing straight without attacking. I tried to take him down.

I am from a South East Asian Country. I am still a student, and I don't have a credit card. Plus the pocket money I get from my mom isn't that much. Its my difficulity for the online class.
I would be very happy if you have classes for free.

ok. well aikido was designed to work off an attackers energy of an attack. so that explains why it isn't working for you. plus he naturally will resist you no matter what. second in order for iriminage or any throwing technique to work YOU HAVE TO BREAK HIS KUZUSHI meaning disrupt his balance. in order for you to do that with someone just standing there doing nothing. you'll need to push his lower back in the direction opposite of the way your iriminage arm is applying technique.
